Low in call volume from earpiece speaker.... - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my Moto X today and I notice the in call volume to be low. Volume is at max and I still have a hard time hearing calls. Anyone else experiencing this or know of a fix?

Well I swapped out phones and the new Moto X seems better although not as loud as my previous Samsung devices. Guess I'll adjust.

I noticed this happens sometimes on mine, and it happened on both handsets I've received (exchanged my first handset for another one through Moto Maker). Will poke around my settings and see if there's something we're missing...

[Q] Motorola Droid Motorola HX1 - Bluetooth Volume Problem

Hey Everyone,
Admin's if this is the wrong thread please move...if there's already a thread about this specific issue please point me in the right direction...I've searched with no real answer...
Specs:
Moto Droid
Buglessbeast v0.4 (installed 08.15.10 via ROM Manager)
Motorola HX1 Bluetooth Earpiece
Problem:
I have very quiet in-call volume on my new fancy HX1 BT. I can hear just fine when walking around the house but when I get to driving it starts to get harder to hear and even harder when I'm on the freeway.
The HX1 is supposed to be really good and loud in general, even the built in voice prompts are REALLY loud in comparison to the sound that I'm getting when I make a call. I paired it with my father-in-law's old timey phone and it was louder than anything and worked perfect..I could hold it out of my ear and still hear what was being said....
I tried my moto droid phone with an LG BT device with the same result...I also get a funny thing happening when I hang up..even though my BT in call volume is all the way up when I hang up a call the screen that shows the volume of the blue tooth pops up and shows 1/2 the volume and then disappears...but the volume on the HX1 BT is still at full...
I made a video of the funny little problem that I get with the in call volume...I don't know if it has anything to do with it...but maybe it might trigger someone's mind into what the problem could be...
Since I'm brand new I can't link the video but if you go to youtube and search:
Motorola HX1 - Bluetooth Volume Problem
It should be the first one the comes up..
Thanks in advance everyone..

Same problem
I have the same EXACT problem with my HX1 and my DroidX (android 2.2). Any solution? It seemed to work fine at first, but now, after about 3 weeks of use, the in call volume is half, and the phone shows the half volume dialog when I end a call. The voice prompts are LOUD. I have done a factory reset of the HX1 with no result.

[Q] In call buzzing

Hi All,
I have recently purchased this phone and am very pleased with it.
The only issue I have is that in calls when the volume is turned all the way up the earpiece buzzes slightly.
Does anyone else have this issue?
thanks.
Nope, but from what you describe it sounds to me like there's contamination in the earpiece speaker, when the speakers membrane vibrates high enough, the contamination vibrates along and that could be the buzzing sound you hear... unless it's a different kind of buzzing... like continuous buzzing, is it?
The buzzing only occurs when the volume is turned up loud. It is as as if the speaker is loose and is vibrating inside the housing. Also occasionally when i make or answer a call the speaker doesn't work and there is no sound from the other caller.
I plan to return it to the store I bought it and try and get a replacement as surely this is faulty hardware?
It surely isn't a software issue, and unless you have a very poor signal while in call, there should be no reason to have a crappy (or absent) caller sound, other than the possibility I mentioned below, which sounds very likely... Hope they can fix or replace it for you
I contacted both motorola and Three UK (whom I purchased it from) and they both said it was not normal. I returned it to a Three store and got it replaced. The new one has no buzzing so i think its all sorted.
So i have had the replacement for nearly 2 weeks now and the issue has started again. there is a buzzing when in call. it varies with the pitch of the other callers voice but it sounds like there's a bee stuck in the earpiece or the speaker itself is loose and is vibrating.
Im not rough with the phone at all and most of the time it sits on my desk at work.
apparently there is a similar issue with the RAZR M in the U.S
surely I cant be unlucky enough to be the only one in the UK to have this issue and to have it twice....

Speaker volume subdued?

So, as you all know, our Moto X has a pretty damn loud speaker.
I, however, am having a problem with mine. For example, I'll start up Pandora on max volume, and the music will be really loud, but shortly after starting playing, the volume will decrease, HOWEVER, the phone will still display max volume. This happens almost every time I use the speaker, whether it be for calls or music.
Is anyone else having this issue? I NEED a loud speaker that works. HTC One Play Edition is calling me...
Perhaps mine is defective.
*Oh, and my volume just increased and then decreased while on my desk, and I didn't even touch it.
Disregard. Turn out the phone is defective.
It literally just took a hot steamy $hit on me, and Motorola customer support confirmed it defective.

[Q] Nexus 6 speaker bug. goes from low to loud.

hey guys, I have this weird bug on my nexus 6 and was wondering if any of you are experiencing the same thing. Its weird cause it only happens when I receive phone calls or if im on the speaker phone. Lets say someone calls my ringtone volume will be very low and then a second or two then volume will go up to max. Same if im talking to someone on speaker phone. The volume will start off very low and then go to max after a second or two. When I listen to music or videos it does not happen. Is anyone else having this problem? its not that big of a deal just kinda annoying.
apparently, thats how its supposed to work.
seriously? does that happen on your nexus 6? thats kinda weird.

Noise cancellation clips out voice

Hi Folks:
I love my Moto X 2014. However, when my wife calls me from her Moto X 2014 I can hardly hear what she says sometimes. Here voice gets lowered/amplified dynamically depending on how she holds the phone. It seems that noise cancellation is somehow considering her voice background noise and clips it out. She has the same issue when using my phone (on the same carrier), so it's not the network/the specific handset. Has anyone else experienced this? Are there known solutions to the issue? Morotorla blames third-party apps and/or the network, but we have experienced this on both phones out of the box on KitKat and Lollipop.
All the best,
Jeroen Claes
Hi
I had/ have this issue. My phone was sometimes clipping my voice and other times making it really quiet and echoey. The latter issue was traced down to the case I was using but I still occasionally get the issue where it clips my voice. This seems to happen when I'm in a quiet room, not sure if the way I'm holding the phone is causing the issue, as I thought maybe my palm was blocking the back lower mic. I was going to return the phone to be looked at and contacted Motorola who seemed quite happy to do this. But ATM I'm trying to see if the issue sorts itself now I've ditched the case.
