What RUU did you try to run and where did you get it?
See if you can use this procedure to do a factory reset:
Performing a factory reset using hardware buttonsIf you can’t turn HTC One on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC One.
Important: The Fast boot option in Settings > Power must not be selected.
> Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
> Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
> Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

Thank you for the reply!
i've tried this method of factory reset - as i said - after pressing PWR button when factory reset highlighted, the phone freezes and i have to hard reset it (long press pwr button for ~20 sec).
i've got the RUU from here : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_..._10-38r-1157-04l_release_351317_signed_2-exe/

You would not be able to run that RUU since it is a lower version than your phone. You are S-ON and can only run RUU and firmware that are the same version or higher. I don't think there is a RUU for your version.

[Q] Can't boot to recovery after flashing new recovery

Edit: Apparently I had to install TWRP 3 times before it would work. I'm all good now.
I wanted to try out TWRP instead of CWM, and after flashing, I can boot to fastboot, but when I try to go to recovery, I see the twrp logo for a few seconds, then it just reboots and tries do a regular boot. The regular boot fails and it tries a recovery boot, which fails and the cycle starts again.
I have been searching these forums and the wider web for an hour but am not finding anything to work. I can do SDK things but only fastboot. adb devices shows no information. fastboot getvar all fails after spitting out some information. Here's the output:
Code:
$ ./fastboot getvar all

Is there any way to recover from this? I am at wits end here, folks. Please help me out. Thank you.

[Q] 802w Semi-bricked need help

Hi my HTC One M7 802w has semi-bricked I think... Had the pink lens issue so tried to factory reset; afterwards the screen boots up and only status bar available (battery icon, wifi, etc.) Touch is not working either. After awhile, phone forces reboot -- eventually landing on broken home screen -- effectively a boot loop.
Can reach/use recovery, fastboot etc. For some reason, I can only use recovery by selecting Factory Reset from HBOOT menu.
Phone is unlocked, S-ON, with TWRP 2.7 installed
fastboot getvar all yields:
C:\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot getvar all
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 2.27.0000

Really appreciate any help; was wondering if I have to S-OFF (if so, is it possible to do it without ever reaching regular home screen cause I can't use that--ie enabling usb debugging, stable wifi/3g/4g, disabling lock)
I suggest you try to ADB Push a new rom, since you're S-On I suggest something like ARHD or Maximus, as long as it's sense. Wipe your phone, and try to flash one of those. If it doesnt work, if there is no physical damage, and no water damage, unroot it to COMPLETE stock, and return it to your service provider.

try and re-run the RUU, here's your current RUU: http://d-h.st/7GA (2.39.1402.1) as per your version-main
Pulled from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617159
you will need to relock your bootloader first.
Thanks for the responses; I've tried re-running the RUU -- still same effect.
Will try to adb push one of those roms in a few hours; should I be sideloading them or adb push/install from TWRP?
Also, how do I check device compatibility? For Maximus's rom it indicates: "M7_U, M7_UL, M7_UL T-Mobile, M7_UL AT&T" as supported devices. I don't think mine is one of those.
Tried flashing ARHD -- stuck in bootloop now. Can still reach recovery; any advice? Is it possible to reach S-OFF with only ADB? My device is not rooted.

[Solved] Soft brick - Unable to Sideload. S-ON. Repairable?

Hello fellow xda'ers.
I'm in a bit of a pickle.
I currently have a soft bricked M7 and I am at a lost on how to restore it.
Currently there are no files on the internal storage (factory reset from bootloader......tried it since nothing else has been working)
The phone get to the HTC splash screen but nothing past that
I do have access to fastboot and twrp recovery
I can start the adb sideload but it never gets past 1%
Also get stuck on pushing files of any size.
(i just get a blinking cursor with no error message.)
When in twrp, the phone shows up on my pc (MTP device) but i'm unable to add files to the phones storage
"The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected"
I've tried different cables and usb ports, but no dice.
Is there anything I can do?
Any help is appreciated.

Solved. It was a bad usb cable {or cables in this case}
After getting to my wits end,I tried another cable and it worked!
I was able to sideload like a boss.
Never trust cables bought at a gas station.

Hi, in the recovery are you able to use adb commands? You could try pushing a rom and then flash it.

[Q] Fastboot Problems

This morning I woke up to the phone rebooting. It wasn't anything special since I know custom ROMs tend to randomly reboot so I let it be. Later I went back to it to find the phone dead, so I reset it by holding the power down the power button. Now the phone stays on the black Google screen, sometimes rebooting, sometimes just staying there. I figured I could just wipe everything with TWRP and start anew.
Well, that didn't work. So I decided to do what I always do in case of emergencies, and just reflash the RUU and start from zero. That didn't work either--it said the flash failed due to an unknown error. I went to htcguru and got the back-to-stock RUU exe and the same thing happened, unknown error. Now I can only get to the bootloader and TWRP, but other than that, nothing.
Here's my getvar all, if it helps:
Code:
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.60.0000
(bootloader) version-baseband: 4T.33.3218.15
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: None

(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
(bootloader) gencheckpt: 0

I think it's also worth noting that I can't do anything through fastboot (even updating the firmware). I even got the newest version of adb/fastboot from Google but I still get the same unknown error. Changing USB ports and USB cables did nothing either.

M7 802W Bricked - Custom Rom and Ruu fail to revive.

Hello Guys,
Hope someone can help me as I am out of ideas, with this M7 802W.
A friend has given me his phone to unbrick for him, as whilst he was trying to root it something went wrong and it just kept on bootlooping at the HTC splash screen.
Not a problem I thought, just flash TWRP, a custom rom and away we go.
But NO, when I flash the Rom Maximus Hd 3.0, which I have used before, the Rom installs fine, but once on the unlock screen rather than seeing the normal home screen, I am faced with the HTC splash screen, the phone then reboots and the cycle starts again.
Ok, so that didn't work (strange) but bring on the RUU files (These always work, Right??)
So I then flashed stock recovery, I have tried running the RUU zip using Fastboot and also from SD card and each one fails to run, I am running out of ideas?
From SD card just fails., no notification.
From fastboot flash Zip Rom.Zip command I end up with this
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
Does anyone know of something that I might of missed, that might bring this device back to life.
