Connection issues with 4.4.4 H/K ROMS after updating. - Sprint HTC One (M8)

I have the M8 HK device, updated with OMJs full firmware package. When i flash any of the 4.4.4 HK Roms i get the message in setup as shown in the attachments. Note the WiFi is on and connected. Any thoughts? Thanks

What have you tried so far?

So are you saying you only have this issue with Wi-Fi, or are you having problems with mobile data, as well? Are you sure the firmware update took?

Thanks for the replys, issue is with both WiFi and data, and only on H/K roms. Tried 3 differdnt H/K roms all with the same result. Tried a fresh firmware download and reflashed, still got the same.result. never had this problem before,,,im stumped

Tried a ruu?

I am getting this along with constant request to reboot to reactivate on my stock HK M8. I am on 4.4.4 as well. Had been fine till this afternoon then after a reboot in a theater this started to happen.

ok so I tried the ##72786# command and reset, no go bro. attached a couple of logcats to see if anyone can make heads or tails of it lol

Nope, didnt delete anything from any of the roms ive tried. Flashed straight out of the box. Even tried a third firmware flash with the same results. Kinda at a loss here. Dont want to try an RUU and vet stuck with no data or wifi.
Thing i dont get is why in settings and on the status bar it shows im connected but phone acts like its not. And ots only with HK roms. Weird huh?

Doesn't make any sense to me. ItsOn showed up a lot in those logs, which is why I asked if you removed anything related to it. The only thing I can think of is calling Sprint to reprovision your service but if your Wi-Fi is acting wonky too then I don't think that's going to help. Did you already try ##3282#? As a last resort I would run the applicable RUU for your device. Can't make things much worse than what they already are.

Thanks again to you both for the assistance. Later,,,,,,

Just because I'm curious like no other by chance did you flash the non hk firmware by accident I stead of the hk since you use an hk device? Just tossing it out there.

cannot update prl or profile?...help

i running pancake rom 1.5 and i noticed today i could not update my profile or my prl settings. it doesn't give me an error but it says "nothing available" for both. this is weird as usually it does something for me. i master reset the phone and reset my MSL as well after i got my code...still no change.
is this normal or what can i do to get this working? i think i have the latest prl btw!
anybody? and yes i searched before asking. i just need to know if this is abnormal behavior.
Try updating your radio. Fresh has it on his site, just dont do the new 2.1 one, you want the other one he has out. I think its like 1.56.
I did that and I have the proper PRL now. Just reflash it as an update.zip.

yeah but can't you brick your phone by doing so?
That may or may not even fix your issue. You should always see something along the lines of "applying your profile" or whatever when you do the update profile. There isn't always a PRL update so there are times you will get the error that nothing new is available.
Also, you should know that there is a fix for the RUU since you tried to call me out for assisting people (for a small charge) via logmein

If it is saying CHECKING and says NO UPDATE AVAILABLE.......Then it is working. You have the proper PRI and PRL.
It's not going to update anything if there isn't one...
You can brick your phone by updating the Radio, but I think more people have bricked it trying to RUU...With a rooted phone, you take that chance with anything that you flash.

Yeah, it's something like that in system/app
sprint_core.apk in /system/app there may be an odex. i always rm NameOfApp.*
if you delete the apk it may cause problems(maybe. didnt for me but has for others). you also wont be notified of vm's. youll have to call to check. on a 2.1 rom, that is. thats how it worked for me anyway.
personally, my vm isnt working on my new device. like it never set itself up correctly. if anyone should happen to have a link to some instructions to set this up, that would be fantastic. I hate calling the silly people at sprint. thank you

it didnt work. i removed the original, flashed yours. still have the undelivered message, the activation message. nothing is working, i cant figure it out. and when i called sprint, they reset my vm, so i lost messages and had to set up everything again...
FYI to Impaler, your VVM version in your sig works for those in areas where an official update has not rolled through yet.
Don't know if you are aware, but Sprint recently updated the VVM software to version T.5.1.0.48 (here in TX it was updated the last week of October). Note that Sprint CSR will not be able to help you reset it unless you are on a Sense ROM. Period.
Two options to fix on your non-Sense ROM... there is an updated .apk floating around on these boards (might need to PM someone for it). Get it and install via your file manager.
Or...
Other way is to nandroid your current ROM, then flash a Sense ROM like Fresh's most current. Then, update your PRL and Profile, then go into the VVM and press Menu and update Sprint VVM.
Then, either try to nandroid back to your original ROM and check to see if that does it (haven't tried that, but it might work)... or else... yes, you will need to pull the updated com.coremobility.app.vnotes from the Sense ROM and install the pulled .apk into your new ROM.
Hope this helps.
mr. implaler, I have used yours for the last weeks successfully, so thank you. I just ran into the same problem with the mandatory upgrade, and it is an update i did before I rooted my phone. the VM did work this morning on MUIU but i loaded MYN and that is when my issue started.

Excellent...let me add to this...
I suppose using variations of ROMS that don't include VVM and block 9016 caused this issue.
You can unblock 9016 by going to your account online, under "My Devices," then "My Preferences." Scroll down to the "Limits and permissions" section. You will see the "Block Texts" link there.

[Q] Help Unrooting HTC Hero CDMA

Ok, I want to unroot my phone so I can get it fixed, but the problem is I just seem to can not find a successful way of doing this.

[Q] Can't send/receive calls or texts after screwing with PRL

Running Beanstalk.
Have been having intermittent issues with mobile data, so I'm sadly familiar with toggling Airplane mode, changing the CMDA subscription, rebooting, etc. in order to jog mobile data into working again. Lately have been having a weird, sporadic problem with people I call only hearing static on my end, so I chatted with Sprint, got to the point where they suggest typing the code to reset/update PRLs into the dialer, and bailed.
Then, in my infinite wisdom decided to try flashing a Sense ROM, proceeding with the manual PRL update/reset, and then wiping and restoring my Beanstalk nandroid.
Now I can't make or receive calls or texts at all, no matter what I do. Have tried all the old toggles. Have tried a complete reflash of Beanstalk. I'm beginning to worry I seriously borked something up.
Is anyone familiar with this kind of situation? Did I screw up, and if so, how bad? Any solutions anyone can think of? I'd be most grateful for any and all help. Thanks guys.

Okay here is what you can do, there is an app floating around these forums that can allow you to manually write the prl, find that, and then use a stock prl for sprint. I believe this post will help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2296167
Let me know if that helps.
Oh and also yeah flashing a different rom wouldnt help because they do not contain any of that information, in fact i think all the carrier information is stored in a different partition for this exact reason -so they cant be easily overwritten.
I build the Beanstalk here and haven't come across that issue yet. Do you have a backup of your original stock ROM? You need to get back to straight stock, like out of the box stock. From there, you can update your prls or anything else OTA-style, check your functionality, then redownload the Beanstalk ROM from here, do a full wipe(no internal data), install the fresh DL, Gapps, fix permissions(PhilzTouch 6.0.3.3 only), and reboot. Should be good to go and should only need to toggle airplane for reboots and occasionally for the wifi. Let me know how it goes, either here, on the BS thread or by PM. Good luck....
If you have no original back up(after getting back to straight stock, MAKE ONE), then use Bigdaddy619s threads on getting back to stock. After that, then follow the steps above.
You should always make an original back up of stock directly after rooting and unlocking. ALWAYS

Worked!
I think what I'd originally goofed was not immediately rebooting after the prl update, since the Sprint lady didn't mention that step (or maybe I didn't hear her). This time I immediately rebooted and data came back, and then I was able to flash BeanStalk and stay functional.
Many thanks to both of you!

[Q] Phone reboots every 15-30 seconds

I recently rooted my HTC a few days ago. I downloaded Titanium Backup to get rid of the Sprint bloatware. Did it and everything was fine. However, a few hours ago I turned my phone off as I had a speech to deliver. Turned it back on and now it is rebooting every 15-30 seconds. Also, my text messaging is weird. I use hangouts and the messages stay on "sending" and yet apparently they are sent since I am getting replies. I am using Google Hangouts. I can still make calls and all that so I know I still have service. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, I DO NOT have S-Off. Just a standard root, if that helps. My guess is that I most likely uninstalled something I shouldn't have. If so, could anyone provide a stock HTC rom or app package I can flash? Is this even possible since I don't have S-Off?

i believe the standard messaging app is still required for texting even if hangouts is handling it. did you uninstall stock messaging? also as a rule of thumb i tend to freeze instead of uninstall the apps that way i dont have to hunt down a flash if it messes up. this is also why you always make a nandroid anytime you mess with your phone's software.

Nope, I did not uninstall the stock messaging app. And yeah, I forgot to do a nandroid backup. Do you know where I can find a stock ROM to flash? Do I need S-Off to flash roms?
What version of SuperSU do you have installed? I recall seeing an issue awhile back where some other folks were having reboot issues and flashing the newest version of SuperSU fixed their issue. If that doesn't fix your issue you'll need to reflash your ROM. You can take a look at the thread in the link below, also. It has stock backups that you can load and install via recovery. You can also run the RUU that's the equivalent of what you're currently running.
Stock backups:

Once you get things running again, make sure you make a backup in TWRP.

Alright man I'm not able to get the files onto my phone since, like I said, it reboots an all that. Ideally, I'd like to simply flash a 100 percent stock ROM and I just won't **** with the damn thing ever again. If you could help me with this, I'd be eternally grateful.

I replied to your PM.
I had this happen to me as well. I just SuperSU app, got a message about updating binaries, chose to do it over TWRP and all has been good.

How do I do this? I managed to get the phone stable but now none of my radios are working. Cell, data, WiFi, GPS, none of them work or even turn on. Will doing what you said fix this?
