[Q] Disabling Boot Sound - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Does anyone know how to disable the annoying (and loud) music that plays with the boot animation? I don't really turn my phone off often but it's pretty awful and I don't want to bother people around me.
Thanks!

effing Verizon! Silence not!
No solution w/o root. On the Maxx anyway.
Check sound options.

Have you tried silencing the phone before you turn it off and restart it? I seem to remember this working in the past. Not sure it will work but worth a shot until we get root...fingers crossed.
EDIT: Just tried it, It didn't work it is really obnoxious though. Not sure who would think its a good idea to have a sound on boot animation.

I turned off "audio effects" in the sound settings and it worked for me.

My Zio is making a quiet ringing sound

Ok So my phone has done this a couple of times. Basically what is happening is randomly my phone is making a standard ringing sound of 3 or 4 beeps (or so) a pause then the beeps again. This is completely different from the standard sounds i have set on my phone and when this ringing is happening i am not receiving a call nor am i receiving a text message. so far it just happens randomly and even when i put my phone into sleep mode it still rings requiring me to take the battery out to make it stop.
Has this happened to anyone before? what dose it mean exactly?

Happened to me until a factory reset. Came back though after reinstalling my apps. You can stop it by making a call. It is a little easier than removing the battery. Still annoying though. I think it could have started after an app was moved to the SD card, so I batch moved everything to the internal storage except for some games. Has not happened for a couple days, but I would not be surprised if it came back. I wish I knew what caused this.
Sprint ZIO or Cricket ZIO?
Sent from my Zio using XDA App
Happened with me, too, on the Cricket Zio. Still searching for a solution. Doesn't seem to be a Zio specific problem, though. I read somewhere that it was happening on the Motorola Droid as well.

The XDA app doesn't show it. Please don't insinuate that anyone here is stupid. I, for one, don't appreciate it, and neither does anyone else. WE are trying to help YOU, and we ask questions for a reason. A clear, simple answer is what you should give when asked a question IF you want our help.

Quite ringing sound
This happens on the Cricket zio as well. It normally happens when you are in a low signal area for any extended period of time. Normally rebooting or making a phone call will stop it. As to why it is happening I have no idea however I do recall this was a problem on one of the old kyocera slider phone I had in the past.
Is there any point in digging into this? It's beginning to happen to me a lot (as my coverage at home sucks despite living in downtown Charlotte).
Every problem has a solution but I'm wondering if the new OC'ed kernel will eliminate it.
One can only hope.

Can we stay on task here and stop with the petty squabbling. Nobody cares how anybody reads the forums but being a smart-a$$ about it will ultimately result in this sort of argument.
Fact is, that we're trying to address an issue here. And to that point, my phone is still making the ringing noise, even with the new OpenZIO ROM. How can that be?
My guess is that the ringing noise is tied up somewhere not on the typical hard-drive of the phone. Kinda like a beeping mechanism on a computer motherboard. And since somebody reported that it happened on an older Kyocera phone, that only furthers my theory in this.
Evidently, it seems to be triggered in poor reception.

This much I know is 100% correct. The first time it happened to me and my wife we were traveling to the beach and this happened while we were in "Dead Zones" and now it happens to me on a daily basis on my commute to and from work. I drive through a lot of "Dead Zones".

A lot of dead zones in the Charlotte area? Where are you commuting to and from?
I have also had this issue a couple of times while running rooted 2.2.
I too was in a poor signal zone. An interesting fact is that when I would adjust the volume while it was making the funny sound, it would say that it was adjusting call volume not ringer volume. It was a while ago since it happened last, but I'm also pretty sure the sound comes from the ear speaker and not the louder back speaker, which is why the sound is so soft.
I'm having the same issue!
I'm having a hard time isolating what application could be causing this. It probably doesn't help that I'm EXTREMELY new to this forum.
also having this issue
this happens to me also in a low signal area.. it happens at 5am and again at 9pm. i'm home way before 9pm so i don't know what the signifigance of that may be?
You have all been hax0rd!!! Mwuaaahahahaa!!!
Just kidding.
I have never had this issue before. You could try installing my ROM to see if that fixes the issue?f
**edit: just read upwards -- appears that someone has already tried installing the ROM.
This leads me to believe that it could be a hardware issue.
Perhaps you can take it in for an exchange?
ROM won't fix it. I was having the issue on stock 2.12 as well. It did not start till the update so has to be a bug in the OS.
Sent from my Zio using XDA Premium App
Take your phone back to cricket for an exchange (provided you can reproduce the sound to a rep).
Be sure to flash a stock rom to ur phone or they wont touch you.

Does anyone else get this volume warning after 4.2 update?

Googled this and cant find anyone else with this issue. It's starting to get really annoying. I'm hoping that there is a place somewhere in settings to turn this off.
Posting from a UK rooted stock nexus 7.
Weird, I've never seen that before. I wish I did, mine is still pretty quiet.
lol, haven't seen this before!
but i think its kinda nice that you get warned, especially when you are using headphones...

The problem is that this warning happens at something like 40% volume which is way too quiet to listen to anything with my headphones in. Would be nice if there was a way to turn off the warning.
By the way this only happens when headphones are plugged in, it lets you raise the volume normally when they are disconnected.
I'm guessing is just an EU thing.
I have that warning too... I'm in the US. The warning itself doesn't bother me, what bothers me is that my headphone volume is noticeably quieter since the update. And it does occur around 40%, I thought everyone was getting this.

If everyone is getting this I'm surprised that not many have complained really. The popup is really, really annoying to me.
Sort of reminds me of the epilepsy warning they added to ps3 in an update that you cannot turn off and adds about 5 secs to boot time.
Can't say I've noticed headphones being quieter.
I have the message too
I have the message too. Not very anoying sicine it will protect your audition in the future.
If you want to be deaf just ignore the message.

Some people don't have to be spammed with the same information over and over again to get the message.
It would be okay if the message came in at a volume that was dangerous but at the 40% mark its just too quiet to be usable.
I just threw some albums on to check. Yep I get it, then got it again after a reboot, and again after removing and putting the headphones back in a bit later. God dammit.. I do not need Google holding my hand doing every day mundane tasks.. Why do we live in such a pansy nanny state?

It is also to avoid people suing google. If people are to stupid to use a normal volume, they will sue if they have ear damages. look at mcdo and the hot coffee.. ridiculous.
Because of that , they needs to go this way

I know but it just enrages me the sissy sue happy `I'm a victim of lacking common sense so pay me' world we live in.. I know it will be removed in custom ROMs..
it was added as config option in 4.2
<!-- reference volume index for music stream to limit headphone volume and display warning -->
<integer name="config_safe_media_volume_index">6</integer>
also this should be in q/a
I've never seen this pop up. I do notice that volume on you tube video is better, was very quiet, now I only need 50% to sound good. I tried a song from my card at 90% got no warming.
Hmm...

overlay/frameworks/base/core/res/res/values/config.xml. But it's just a source file. Grepping through /etc for "safe_media_volume" returns nothing.
Yes I get that warning but only when the headphones are plugged in.

funny, lots of other people complain that it's not loud enough.
If you're rooted, you can use an app like Trickster Mod to change vibration force.

you can turn vibration off altogether if it bugs you that much?
maybe someone knows another app that might help? Check play store for vibration apps.

T-mo Rooted Sound Mods?

So, I rooted my flex today, for 2 reasons, to run Titanium, and to install a sound mod.
I always used Viper on my previous Sammy phones, but it doesnt seem to do anything on the Flex.
Has anyone found a sound mod/app that really makes a big difference for the Flex?
thanks!

Videos of Keyboard Lag

I managed to upload some videos of the incredibly annoying typing lag I experience on my Note5. I've got the running process showing and you can see how weird the keypresses get at the end of each one.
Here they are:
https://youtu.be/eQ-HgtMmCFg
https://youtu.be/yW970htrhU8 (Note the touches keep going while all keypress popups and text entry stops.)
https://youtu.be/NRuLXa6m3mA
Does anyone else experience this?
Here http://i.imgur.com/6zcUZ17.png is a nice screen shot showing just how annoying the overlaping stuff can be.
Any help is appreciated.
I know it's annoying having an issue list this out of the box, but no one claims Samsung is good a developing software. I'd say go for a 3rd party keyboard. I'm using Google's and it's smooth as butter.

Wow. I'd say root and flash a ROM and kernel, but if you're having these issues while stock, who's to say you won't have other issues after rooting? Unfortunately I'm not sure what else to do. Sorry, man. I hope you get it worked out.

Hey First of~~ Mine is s6e+ I have heard that issue from s6e+ users too(with swype keyboard). I would suggest you to turn off keyboard Pop upping but that would be odd If you like it..(I like when it pops up)~
