I want to buy this MHL cable on ebay but I am not sure if it works on the note 2. I asked the seller and he told me no, it doesn't work but I don't really trust him because this cable work on S3/S4 and note 3, why not work on note 2 as well?
See the link for more info:

I have a HDMI cable that works perfectly in a Samsung Galaxy S3 and the Note II, so I was certain there would be no problem using it on the Galaxy Camera, but it seems to be a proprietary port which is a fraction smaller than a micro USB.
I am a bit angry about this, as it means a (probably expensive) Samsung branded cable needs to be purchased. Considering how expensive the camera is, Samsung should have at least provided one.
The other problem is finding a retailer that sells one. I can't seem to locate one as yet.

Hi there, with regards to the HDMI port on the Samsung Galaxy Camera, I believe it is using a standard micro-HDMI sized connector. These ports have been in use on Android devices for a while now so you should be able to pick one up for a reasonable price rather easily. Here is an example of a cable that should work: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Micro-HDMI-...=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item1e6125af08
Good luck in your hunt!

Thanks for the info, I guess I was so used to a phone's multi use Micro USB socket I forgot that the camera has a separate HDMI socket and that it's pretty much standard! Doh!
I shall now buy a cheap one off eBay.
Thanks again.
I bought on ebay an HDMI cable compatible with GS2 and Note, but with gCam does not work. Does anyone know tell me a compatible model, tried in person? Thanks

I know that Samsung HDMI cable are not compatible betwwen S2/Note and S3. I believe Note 2 and Galaxy Camera use same new format that S3 and it's probably why it doesn't work for you. but not 100% Sure.

Samsung uses 3 different types of connectors in their devices.
there's the regular mhl connector used in the note 1 and S2 which I think is a 6pin connector.
The note 2 and S3 use a Samsung mhl connector which has 11 pins and also allows you to use usb for sync/data transfer while outputting video.
and there's the regular old standard micro sized HDMI port which is used in the galaxy camera.
It's a tiny little port next to the battery, which requires a $0.50 adapter plug to get a full sized HDMI cable plugged in, or you can just use a cable with HDMI micro on one end and full sized HDMI on the other.

Hello,
I recently purchased my first AT&T Galaxy Note 2 model SGH-1317. I've been wanting to hook it up to my LCD TV. I've done some searches for adapters and have come up with one on ebay: ATT SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2 SGH-I317 MHL TO HDMI HDTV SMART ADAPTER EPL-3FHUBE OEM running $37.99. Any suggestions on alternatives that any would like to share. Thanks in advance!
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009MJ58OI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 This has worked well for me! Also you can read my review. Also it is helpful to do a search here! I bought this after I read a post on here about it.
I bought a Micro USB 5 to 11Pin HDTV MHL HDMI Adapter for 3.99 on ebay with free shipping and it works great!

Damm I had ordered some OEM Samsung one from China http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-i9300-i9308-Galaxy-S3-S-III-MHL-Micro-USB-11P-HDMI-HDTV-Adapter-/111001759182?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D5763556128870212755%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D111001759182%26 which is going for $10.99
If I had seen that Monoprice one I would of gone for that instead since I can just do local pickup from that place Hopefully this one I ordered isn't a generic knock off

hi folks,
did anyone connect the lapdock with the note I?
In a few weeks i will find out but now still waiting for the mhl adaptor from dealextreme.
I know lapdock works with the note II but the note II has a different Micro usb mhl pinout than the note I.
thanks for sharing your experience
kindskopp
If its the same as the samsung dock for the note II, the note I didn't support the right modes when I looked into it. Maybe someone has found a work around though.
i think it is not the same like the samsung dock cause the samsung dock was made for the note II and the micro mhl pinout is different to the note I. so why the note I doesn´t work with the samsung dock. but the galaxy nexus works with the lapdock the and nexus is more simalar to the note I than the note II. we will see in a few days or weeks..
the note I works with the atrix lapdock, just screen.
but touchpad and keyboard don´t work like the galaxy nexus. so it is good for watching movies.
sound works but u have to put the phone connector in the note I.
later some pics or video how to get it works.
Hello, I got today my adapter, and found out its 5 pin and not 11
Can someone link me to an adapter at eBay that will work?
I saw some at ~6$ which is a good price, but I'm not sure they will work.
Thanks!

You can try this one. Samsung EPL-FU10BEGSTA 5-pin Micro USB to 11-pin Micro USB HDTV Smart Adapter for Samsung Galaxy S3, Note 2 and MHL-enabled Phones

Don't have one cuz don't use it on the tv. But I would stick too Sammy for Sammy. Knock off usually means it's not going to work half the time..

cannot find where to get a second cable for my note 5. I am coming from a note 3 so I know that cable is different but what about the note 4 cable, is it the same? Thanks

Yes the note 4 cable will be the same. Any standard micro usb should work but if you want Samsung specific Amazon has them on the cheap. The Note 3 is only different because of the USB 3.0 but actually a standard micro USB cable will work on the Note 3 as well. But again, virtually any store that sells phones or computer peripherals should have cables that will work.
Yes any micro USB cable will work. However, if you want to charge your battery with quick charge 2.0/adaptive fast charge then you need a cable with thicker gauge wire.
