[Q] Notes app location in HTC Stock Rom Android 4.2.2 - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear xda-developer members,
I could not find an app to save my notes automatically on my PC, i tried wondershare mobilego, it saves everything except the notes app.
So I am trying to find the notes app and especially the path of the data store of it so I can save it manually. Can you help me where I can find it and which files I also need to save in order to have a complete backup of the notes application and its content?
I have the Stock HTC Stock Rom (rooted, Sense) Android 4.2.2.
I do not want any cloud save/backup, for me only backup on my local computer is possible.

Restore Apps after a Wipe

Hi,
This is probably a n00b question but I am going to ask anyway.
I want to do the following:
First time I install new Custom Rom I register with a google account and download apps from market. So after downloading some 60 apps I want to unregister my google account and remove my default account. The only way I can remove my default account is by doing a wipe.
So Is there a way I can extract the APKs of all the 60 apps I have installed and then Do a wipe and then install the apks again to regain my 60 apps but no google default account ?
Thanks

if youre rooted you can try titanium back up or else I would recommend mybackup pro (theres a trial version) it will back up apks and data (sms/contacts/email etc)
app Manager for the apk. can also select and simultanious Installations (there are also many others, see above).
sms backup & restore. awesome app for sms Backup to SD card or Your Mailacount without using gmail sync. everything is free. there is also a call log app and apn backup app from the same developer!
cheers

I like AndroidCommander
AppBrain will do this too.
You can pull the '.apk's using the "adb pull" command and then push them back afterwards.
Or if you're on a custom ROM you can use apps2sd to store the apps on your sdcard then they will be reimported after you install your new ROM after wipe. This may depend on which ROM your using though, not sure.

how to export installed list of applications to some file

Is there any way or any command which can save my installed set of applications to a Text file or PDF. My applications are growing and I cannot remember every one of them and I require all of them at one point or other. Can anyone give me some guidance?
You could use titanium backup, it does have an option to create an update.zip file for your backups which I haven't used but I assume it backs up your apps to the zip so you can reinstall apps from recovery, would need someone to clarify this though

I was using back up pro but it is no use. Suppose you flash a new rom, and if you restore most of them end up with Force Close errors. Since most of my applications are free, I don't mind spending some time installing them. But since many roms are changing so fast, I have to flash to keep up with the times, you know.
I don't know if there is such an option to save a list of installed apps, but it would be kinda useful.
I soon realized such a list would help and I am just manually creating my own in a text file, and all of the non-stock apps I have (thus far) added are in appbrain.com and I have ensured I have added each to "Apps on the phone" which then appears under "My Apps".
A list no but as all my apps are via AppBrain that's my list .
I use Root Explorer to copy all the APKS to a folder on the external card + a copy on PC . New firmware just open APK folder and install .
jje
For the time being, I am using Titanium free version and it backed up my applications and after I flashed the new rom I was able to restore all the applications via it's batch run commands. I do hope that I don't get force close errors. Upto now everything is working fine.
Thanks to all for your kind replies

S'Perience ROM: can't restore/install system apps

Hi,
I'm having trouble trying with S'Perience ROM:
1. Restoring a backed up system app with Titanium Backup, hangs TB and FC or have to kill app through task manager. All none system apps restore perfect without issues.
2. Trying to sideload the app doesn't help also (of course the phone is rooted).
Some guys suggest to check:
- Unknown sources
- Development / Allow mock locations
But it doesn't help, what i'm doing wrong? this is the first rom that I have with this problem.
For example, one app that I want to restore is Samsung All Share (is really useful), and default email app (I know it sucks but I use it with a rarely used email account that want to keep separate)
thank you in advance for any help

[Q] Problem with HTC daily backup after update Android 4.4.2

Since the update to Android 4.4.2 I have problems with making the daily backup of the HTC.
I used this to store my Dropbox account.
Now he makes automatic backups and more should I do if I click on backup first to decide which store I want to use (Google Drive or Dropbox).
And every time I choose to Dropbox, I grant this permission HTC Backup can use Dropbox. Use

I have the same problem and definitely more people have come across this issue as it doesn't look user or phone specific but something to do with the way 4.4.2 update was build.
I am facing the same issue with Dropbox account however with Google drive I can't seem to find the backup files in my google drive account. Not sure what this other problem is
I am still trying to find a fix for it but haven't had any luck yet. I will surely update this post if I find the fix.
If you're able to find a fix, let me know.
Regards,
Nick
Had the same issue, Did a "clear data" under settings, apps, all, htc backup.
I was then able to add the dropbox account back when back in the htc backup program (click on htc account)
I have a ticket in with htc.
I set my backup, watch it perform the back up, don't see my files in my google drive and have no dropbox account.
I just asked them yesterday where my files went, no response yet. I lost everything when I unlocked my bootloader with htcdev.

I have been in contact with HTC. According to them, this is because their free 25GB Google Drive support is preferred automatic backup forward to Google Drive instead of Dropbox.
The files are hidden in Google Drive so that they can be not accidentally delete
Automatic Backup not working with DropBox
Hi Justin,
Can you guide me to this page where you see the hidden HTC backup files?
Also, If I removed Google drive from my HTC One, will the automatic backup work fine with DropBox? Did you test that?
Regards,
Nick
I work now with google drive and the screenshot is from google drive.
HTC automatic backup broken Android 4.4.2
Hi Justin,
I understand that you're using Google drive now as the automatic backup defaults to the Google Drive cloud storage instead of Dropbox.
But could you please point me to the location on Google Drive where I can find my backup files.
I'm still not sure where to look for backup files from my HTC One on Google drive.
I would really appreciate your further suggestions here.
Regards,
Nick

The backup files are hidden in Google Drive. Go to https://drive.google.com/ and then go to Settings - Manage apps. Then scroll down and you'll see you HTC device.
After 4.4.3 update I no longer can do backup, it just goes to 53% ant then stops telling me that backup is not available at this moment and try again later :/ under account and sync options htc account sync is off, despite that all other sync is on im using stock rom with backup option on google drive. Had the same problem turns out its facebook thats the problem even thou i weren't using it to login with sync.
Go to settings>Accounts & sync>facebook>remove
Restart your device
Run the backup function again
You might have to run the backup twice for it to work.

Same problem here.
Maybe I have a workaround for that issue
Had the same issue with HTC Backup since 4.4.3 upgrade ..... until today.
The only way I found to complete HTC Backup was to deactivate Facebook app before starting my backup.
Hope FB/HTC developers solve the issue definitely cause using this workaround I cannot anyways use automatic backup .....

I confirmed that method is working. After the today chat with HTC assistance they told me that they know about this problem (some incompatibility between FB account and HTC) and they trying to solve this in a future update.
? Hope we'll have it soon .....

[Q] Missing System Applications

I have an unlocked, S-OFF HK M8 that I flashed with the Android Revolution ROM - works well, except for one thing- certain stock applications went missing (Visual Voicemail, Wireless Hotspot Application, a few others.)
Before I flashed, I made sure to run a Fullbackup.ab in the hopes that I could restore anything I wanted that went missing - I used Titanium Backup to try and fetch/restore the applications through its Restore ADB backup, but while it acts like it's restoring the applications, it doesn't actually do anything.
My question is - is there a way to retrieve these applications? I've been looking around to see if there's a repository for stock applications and the like, but I just haven't been able to find any. I'm hoping it's as simple as flashing/pushing them through ADB, but I just can't locate the applications to begin with. Any advice?
download stock rom(or any other which has the apps you want) and copy all the apps you want from /system/apps then push them to the same location on your phone on /system/apps
