I'm not sure if you're looking for the NE3 modem files or the more recent NH3. Either way I've provided links below for both, you'll have to extract the zip file and flash modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin with Odin. From what others have reported, it's recommended that you flash both files twice to get them to stick. Let me know if they work because I've had to manually extract them from the phone.

Thanks Devo7v! I was looking for the NH3 modem. Im away from a pc at the moment but will flash when I get home. Thanks a lot for your time and effort. Ill post back with results tonight.
It says fail (auth). Is odin the only way to install? Can I use root explorer and replace the files or push via adb?

Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone would happen to know how to restore a .tar file that I downloaded from sammobile.com/firmware/ . I got it in the hopes it would have a seperate PDA, CSC etc. files so I could restore using Odin put I have to admit I was stumped when I just got one .tar file. The file in question is Optus' 2.3.3 firmware and is called 'jvn_jv5_jv1.tar' if it's any help. The files inside the tar are:
-zImage
-param.lfs
-cache.rfs
-factoryfs.rfs
-boot.bin
-modem.bin
-Sbl.bin
Thanks.
Not 100% certain on this so perhaps wait for a confirmation but I think that if you only have one tar file you put it in the PDA and flash it.

Can totally confirm this!!
But if you want further confirmation there are instructions on sammobile.com
It's an easier way to flash as its only one file and less people can get the files mixed up. (It still has the kernal and modem inside it)
Edit: Just check and it seems to be missing dbdata.rfs Did you miss that out. If its not there then do another download and see if it is. If not then im sure it'll be fine..
So I had to reflash my custom rom (UrDroid Deodex) in an attempt to get ISIS / Softcard to work. As I was looking at the roms, I almost downloaded the NC2 version of FireKat before I read not to install it unless coming from Stock NC2. Anyway -- could I flash a NC2 rom?
I used to love UrDroid since it was perfect for me, but ever since I reflashed it, the Home Button isn't working (it works for screenshots, task manager, SVoice, etc. but I can't single click it and expect to be taken to my homepage). I'm interested in trying out FireKat. My OS firmware is 4.4.2
Thanks!
You need to Odin stock NC2, you should be able to find it in the all in one thread. Then root, install ss and then you should be able to flash FK. On FK myself and it's definitely great.

Ahh thanks ... it's been a while since I've done this.
I was looking at the Odin stock NC2 and among the various files to download, I saw this one:
All-in-One N900AUCUCNC2_N900AATTCNC2_N900AUCUCNC2_HOME.tar.md 5
(link to thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006)
I understand the AP, BL, CP, CSC (these are the important ones for Odin), but what's the all in one supposed to be about?
The all in one is to flash with just one file instead of the four.
Is there a way to flash just the modem?
I think there is a thread on the developement sub forum that addresses this question

My thread over in Android Development for the released OF1 ROM includes a FLASH_ME package that contains just the modem. Remember, you won't be able to downgrade the modem, but that's not really a big deal. Just keep that in mind when you flash a stock ODIN package for OC3/OE2, that you need to reflash that package immediately right after (won't fully boot, otherwise).
You can flash this with FlashFire, you don't need to use ODIN.

Super appreciated. I wasn't sure if that was the case or not. I like everything the way my phone is now but have terrible reception here in South Carolina so I'm curious if the modem will help. Thanks!
I've been searching and searching for either file and I've got nothing but dead links. The one file I did find is bad and failed to write in Odin. It's been a long time since I worked on this phone and it's currently on 4.4.2, NC2 and it's not able to receive calls after unlocking and switching carriers...so my one thought is to flash the modem file. The phone is rooted but Safestrap is not installed. Going from NC2 up to what's currently available seems very daunting and there are many conflicting instructions on how to go from one version to another.
So, does anyone have a good link to either of the mentioned files? I've been looking for Odin files but I'd install Safestrap (if I can find the right one) and flash in recovery if that is the way to do it.
Or is it possible to update 4.4.2 to 5.0? What are the best instructions? I've spent four hours researching and it's just not obvious what I can or should do. I just want the phone to receive calls.
Safestrap is installed but won't work. Installed reinstalled busybox, etc. No love.
Found this, finally. https://mega.co.nz/#F!wg5wRQrQ!vR7a6pze9dgSWjbaRSyhWA. I flashed the modem but there is still the same problem. Did unlocking break the phone? I'm going to go ahead and download the whole stock ROM and try that next.
I just downloaded a new firmware from Sammobile, but I don't remember what to do now.
I have a custom rom flashed right now, as well as Magisk, so I'm not sure if the procedure is different from a new/clean phone.

Depends if you want to keep the phone rooted or if you want to return to stock
I wish to keep it rooted, as well as to keep my data (if possible).

Then you need to extract the AP section of the firmware, copy it to your phone. Then open magisk and patch the AP file, then copy the patched file back to your PC. Then you can flash the firmware in Odin using the patched ap, with the bl, and the CSC home file. If you use CSC HOME then your data will be kept.
Great! Could you explain the steps in more details?
