I bought AU version of HTC one, since I live in Australia.
There were only English, some Chinese language option total around 5.
I chose English, but then I couldnt write Korean with sense keyboard. :crying:
I really love this Sense keyboard, but I had to download Swiftkey to use English and Korean
Is it possible to have Korean Sense keyboard?
I heard that there is Asia ver of HTC one, but if I flash that then there might be radio frequency difference for LTE..
Thanks in advance!
The Australian one is the Asian one, it should have 1.29.707.x as the firmware. Other Asian ones are 708 for Hong Kong and 709 for Singapore/Malaysia. I would have thought Korean was in 707.
There should be language choices in the keyboard settings, press and hold the key to the left of the space bar then hit language selection.

It's 1.29.980.17 It is Australia,Hong kong, Singapore.. I think Asia -Taiwan might have Korean, but that U variant does not support LTE..
Also there is no Korean in keyboard or language setting :crying:

What?
You have Optus branded version.
Well, your best bet would be to S-Off and install an unbranded ROM, maybe 707 if your radio matters, or 401 otherwise.

No, it is unbranded one.
Just do the s-off thing, install custom recovery, root your current stock ROM, do a Nandroid back up of it and keep a copy of it safe on your computer, then flash a custom ROM of your choice.
Don't forget to wipe cache/factory reset before flashing a custom ROM.
Your radio is not touched at all by flashing a custom ROM, some let you choose in Aroma installer which other language you prefer besides English on your keyboard!

Hmm, what's your CID then?
fastboot oem readcid
It doesn't have to come with bloat to be branded. First I heard of two CIDs for the same firmware version (although Taiwan has two firmware versions for the same CID)
Factory unlocked is also very odd.

How can I check CID? and what is CID stands for?
Well, I paid outright from electronic store, so it is factory unlocked (I meant carrier lock).
OPTUS is telco, so my phone wouldnt read Vodafone sim if my phone was from OPTUS.
Put the phone in fastboot mode (hold power and volume down to get to bootloader then drop to fastboot) and run
fastboot oem readcid
Playstore app 'CID getter' gives you your CarrierID = CID = which carrier version your one is. i.e. Vodafone Germany CID is VODAP102
SIMlock means your One is only working with a Carrier specific SIMcard, SIMfree means any SIMcard works.
Speaking of unlock is referring to unlocking the bootloader which is needed to install custom recovery and ROM.

HTC_039? I used that CID getter and it showed 039..
Also I do not need to s-off to install custom roms right?
I just found out that unlocking bootloader wont always void warranty. But I guess s-off will void warranty?
Why people are s-off when they can install custom roms after unlocking bootloaders?
I just want to install custom roms to use Korean language =)

Yeah, mines shows 039, which is Australian unbranded =D
Unlocking bootloader can be done via HTCdev.com and may not void warranty, but rooting does. Bootloader displays a 'tempered' flag after unlocking via HTCdev and 're-locked' after locking it again.
With s-off unlocking is done without involving HTC (and giving HTC info about it), tampered flag can be removed, and the 're-lock' can be changed into 'locked' in case of warranty claims.
But before jumping into anything, please familiarise yourself with all the steps, and make sure you understand all before doing any procedure unlocking/s-off ect
The forum has all the info you need

You are a genius.. I used to flash a lot of roms and customise phones when I had Galaxy Series then HTC One is brand new stuff, so I was like lost. But now you cleared a lot of things which I was unsure!! Thank you!!
BTW, I have to s-off to make it "LOCKED" instead of "RE-LOCKED" right? Also those tempered flag is like showing after the phone is rooted or just after bootloader unlocked?
I guess those tempered flag is like binary counter for galaxy series.

Yeah, S-Off to get it back to "locked". Tampered is basically an unsigned (custom) recovery (probably other bits too) is installed.
Hi, new to HTC here
So I plan to get a HTC One and debranding will bethe first thing I'm gonna do. I've been searching though XDA and Google.
I understand the S-off can be achieved using RevOne's method, and if my device is S-offe I can change it to other (Super)CID
I've got few things I'm not really sure though:
1. Does Revone method (and the whole debranding process) require unlocked bootloader, I wish to remain vanilla if possible
2. Do I have to use SuperCID? can I used other CID? I need CID/RUU containing my native language.
2. After changing CID do I need to flash new RUU or can I just wait for the OTA to arrive and replaced my branded FW?
Well.. at the very least, I will appreciate if anyone can point me where to start.
I have somewhat read through the RevOne and SuperCID threads.. but testimony from those with success would be invaluable.
EDIT: did more research.. so should anyone be interested:

Hi Don't know what your native language is, but if it's Dutch I just debranded my HTC One from T-Mobile and received the latest OTA in the Netherlands.
I wrote a tutorial for it on a Dutch forum.
to put it simple
I S-OFFed an unlocked via Revo method
Changed CID to HTC__001 (need to find the best CID for your country)
Ran the proper RUU
Received OTA
You can then proceed to lock the bootloader again with revo method (won't show tampering and stuff)
and even go S-ON again if you want. (I didn't)
This shall give you a vanilla HTC One without branding that shall receive OTA's directly from HTC.
@Rubman
Thanks for chiming in!
No worry, HTC CID Lists are everywhere on Google (I'd like to use the HTC SEA CID for what it's worth).
I see, I also have received confirmation RevOne can be done without unlocking bootloader.
While I generally understand the debrand process I think it'll be handy to also have your tutorial. Can I get a link?
Don't speak Dutch, but I think Gtranslate will do, hehe.
Thanks again.

Sure you can have a link, I plan to write the tutorial over here as well but very busy ATM, but it's basicly just a collection of Revone CID change and then RUU install.

Did you get the One? What did you discover about CID? Changes GSM band reception? Can this be changed for carrier jumping?
I have a Sprint One. Am no longer with Sprint and wondering what advantage it would be to change CID. I have 2 updates to get and am researching options first. Anyone have knowledge, suggestions?
Rom: Sprint stock 1.29
S-off
Unlocked
T removed
Hboot: 1.44 stock
Twerp 2.6.3
Revone
SuperSU
If got my HTC one unlocked I am runnig ARHD revolution.
My friend also has an HTC ONE and also wants to unlock it.
The only differents is that my HTC has CID: HTC_001 and was running stock version *.**.401.*
my friends has CID from O2, so his stock version isn't *.**.401.*
Is it possible to flash a custom rom that is based on *.**.401.* on an unlocked htc one witch other version? Or would he have to go S-off for this.
Yes, that's fine. He won't be able to flash a 401 firmware, but any ROM can be flashed with unlocked bootloader.
I have an HTC One M7 (bought in Australia, unlocked), which currently runs cm11. I want to restore it to stock (I know how to s-on, remove tampered, lock bootloader) but I cannot find a suitable RUU. All the RUUs I have found are carrier-specific, and I am looking for an Australia unbranded RUU. Any ideas where I might find one?
Sir,
Please wait until mods will move this thread to the device specific forum.

If the device is currently s-off do not go s-on and also if its s-off you can flash any RUU with a simple change of the CID number and MID, for quick updates go for something like the developer edition RUU which is unbranded.
