Hi... I wanted to try aosp with android 5.0 and back up my current cm11 but it said you needed to use their custom TWRP from New Maclaw and I want to know if it is the same recovery as the TWRP that came with my CM11

Yeah, you can (need) to use nf twrp (both for cm11 & L). But you probably can flash them using Andi's twrp 2.8.1.0 (f2fs version to avoid issues)

Afaik, carbon rom should be ok with op 2.7 cm 10.2? Not from any kernel thread but from op thread. Try flashing carbon + op 10.2 again.

Dirty flash worked..
But here is the thing.. I downloaded OP 2.7 from Anykernel and put it in SDcard. When i open airdroid in SDcard it clearly says OP 2.7. But, when I go into recovery it says OP 2.7 Stock! There is no OP 2.7. So i actually installed the kernel from original thread..(because I flashed that kernel when I was on stock) But how come there is no Anykernel version in recovery to flash? In airdroid, Root explorer and when I connect my phone via cable, there is no OP stock..

I dont think so.. But how come in Recovery I can see: Carbon.zip,gapps.zip,OP 2.7 stock.zip and update.zip(thats the zip from TB) and in Root explorer and on PC via cable I cant see that? I would like to delete update.zip and Op Stock.zip.. I will give it another go and put Op 2.7. from any kernel in sdcard but this confuses me a lot..
anyway. what he says its that carbon isnt 4.3.1 , its 4.3 right ? any kernel is for the new 4.3.1 . use the kernel from its thread.

Used your recovery in HTC Pico [exploer]
on topic - Does this recovery support Non Bootloader unlocked XP SP ?
First of all thanks for this great recovery and that you made it for the SP (;
But in your post about how to install there is a method with flashing via recovery when it is a zip package but this one is an IMG-file. Should I flash it with FlashTool?
thanks for this. will give it a try for sure tomorrow.

Android 4.4 (CM11).
@Phil3759 Why did you included your modded recovery with kernel you can simply just make recovery without kernel and just flash it into otakernel partition not boot on kernel partition with this method it'll work with all ROMS not just cm11

Yes I guess it's better if you just build the recovery without any kernel with this update script
package_extract_file("boot.img", "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/FOTAKernel");

You can discuss this with @championswimmer as he was able to port TWRP recovery as standalone recovery to FOTAKernel partition you can see this thread

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy s3 and am using TWRP recovery.
I wanted to change to CWM 6.0.4.7 but every time I try to install it it reverts back to TWRP.
Can someone please explain how I can remove TWRP and use CWM instead?
Thanks
Hi
You Can Flash CWM With SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 UNIFIED TOOLKIT V8.0
ِDownload This Topic
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...msung-galaxy-s3-unified-toolkit-v7-0-t1979290
a solution that will work 100% is to install stock firmware....it will install stock recovery...after that instal CWM
not the greatest solution but will work for sure.
I had TWRP installed on my phone and then i tryed to flash CM11 (actually it was Omni-a CM11 'clone') and after that done i got CWM-Recovery back.
You could give it a try...
At least could try mobile Odin and flash the Recovery.tar.
That should also do it, for me it worked also. Good luck! :thumbup:

I installed a CWM Recovery and it deleted my stock ROM so I decided to go and install PAC ROM which I found the WiFi doesn't work so I used Sony's flashtool to go back to stock ROM.
I want to be able to make a backup of the stock ROM then install another ROM such as CM
How do I install CWM and keep stock ROM?

I'm not sure what you did, but installing a recovery shouldn't affect your rom.
In any case, XZDualRecovery is what you need.
