Why does this happen? I've not rooted the phone!

Did you try restarting your phone? Otherwise, try repairing your phone with sony pc companion.

Yes, i've tried. And then it works, but it stops working when I get back from work.

By the way, did you make sure the wifi problem is specific to your phone only?
If not, check to see if other devices have this same problem too.
Also try turning off wifi location in battery settings might work, i've had earlier problems with that on another phone.
If all above doesn't work, try reflashing your firmware with flashtool.
I hope there's something that will help you.

Tanks for the answers. No it is just this phone. My other Note 3 is working all good.
I think I've turned it off. But I will check.
I will be reflashing this weekend! Hopeless!

Wifi issues after fresh install of new ROM

So my wifi will see networks, try and connect, then instantly disconnect and repeat. This problem has occurred for the last two roms that I installed. I don't think it is a problem with the rom because one, I havnt read so anywhere, two, i have tried installing and reinstalling and reinstalling again many many times. When I install a new rom, I always factory wipe, cache wipe, and dalvik wipe.
I am currently on Apex latest rom.
Has anyone else had this issue or know how to fix it? It is driving me crazy not having wifi!
EDIT
so it seems by toggling airplane mode on n off, the problem has been fixed. sorry for making this thread
so i thought airplane mode works, but it only did for a lil then keeps messing up. can anyone help please?

Don't know if this will work for you or not. Some have had success...
Go into WiFi settings and 'forget' your network(s), then reset your router/switch and then turn your WiFi back on. Sometimes it will reestablish with the right permissions.
ya i have tried that too. i don't understand what the problem is. I'm bout to just give up

My problem is similar, it sees my home network and connects (and stays connected), but when I try to access the internet or markets, it says network error and won't let me connect. When I switch back to 3g and WiFi off, now I can hook up to internet and markets.
I'm checking into my wireless router. It might be the problem, tho my wife's computer is hooked up wirelessly and it seems fine, no problems, so idk.

Xperia SP won't charge over PC

hi guyz, i bought my SP month ago and i had positive and negative reactions. SP has a lot of bugs, i hope that they are software bugs and that with new update, they will be removed. my biggest problem is that when i connect my phone to pc it doesn't show that it is connected, it isn't charging and pc companion doesn't recognise it. the funny thing is that i could charge (over pc) it 2 weeks ago and suddenly one day it won't charge. i tried with mass storage mode but it doesn't help too. it charges only when my PC is turned off but i don't need "another charger", i need to connect my phone with pc to transfer data. let's say that this doesn't matter if i can update my phone over wi-fi, but if i can't what the hell i'm gonna do ? i don't wanna go to repair it, it's a new cellphone ! i'm from Croatia and if someone knows : can i update over wi-fi or i have to connect it to usb ? because it says that in some countries it can update over wi-fi and somewhere it can't. i would be very grateful if someone could really help me, thanks !

i tried with nokia cable and it still won't charge.. dude, are you blind ? my drivers are up to date when i try over wi-fi (new drivers will come out soon), but i asked a question : in my country, can i update drivers via wi-fi or i have to connect it to USB ? you see what my problem is ?

how in god's name do you expect a PC to install drivers over Wi-Fi...
Of course you need to connect your phone with USB..
Do you have root or any app prohibiting the phone from connecting?

before you go and call someone trying to help you blind you should keep in mind they don't have to help you. that said try turning it off plugging it in then powering on while connected. you can every try pressing the button on the back to reset the battery.
Have you actually tried using another USB-port?
What you are refering to is an OTA, over the air software update, not a drivers installation
ok sorry, but i thought i explained everything.. i didn't say that i expect PC to install drivers, i said if i could connect my cellphone via wi-fi and download software updates without involving pc .. ? if i can, half of problem is solved..
hmmm, i'm not sure about any root app or something similar.. i have several games, whatsapp, soundhound, ringtone maker, instagram, file manager,di radio, accu weather, but i don't think that they are responsible for this..
i tried all usb ports. yup, maybe i said it wrong.
i'll try to reset it now.

hmm that's weird... if you can't connect with stock firmware, maybe it's a hardware problem? Does your PC recognize other devices on USB ports?
Does the phone charge while connected to AC adapter?

that's for OTA-updates and it seems there isn't one for your region/country or check update centre on your phone

retarded phone. i have it exactly one month and now it won't charge even on normal charger, only when turned off.. it must be software and hardware error.. i have warranty and i'm going tomorrow to service centre.

Goodluck, mate. I'll keep searching solution for it, I'll report what I can find
Edit: My guess is that's hardware related. Maybe too low mAh to charge with the USB cables? I have no clue

Thanks ! I went to store to repair it on monday, and they told me to come in 3 days to pick up the phone. so i did but they told me that phone is still being tested cause it's relatively new. i think that this is the hardware problem and sony's poor socket charger quality. we will see..

i knew that they are noobish only in software field, but i always thought that it's not a big deal cause with new update the most of the bugs get fixed. now they proved that they suck also in hardware field, maybe not for flagships, but definitely for mid-range phones or lower.. i won't forget to ask what was the problem, don't worry

[Q] Wifi problem since 4.4.4 update

Since the update to 4.4.4 my phone sometimes refuses to connect to any networks.
Even my home network that normally works fine.
I notice that when the problem occurs, WiFi refuses to turn off.
When trying to manually connect to a stored network, it asks again for the password. But even if I enter the correct password, it still won't connect.
After rebooting the phone, everything is OK again for a couple of days, and then the problem starts again.
Does anyone experience the same problem, and does anyone have a fix?
Thanks
Marc

may b u need to repair your phone using PCC. or visit service center. but they will do the same.
also take backup of everything u need
You Can factory reset your phone or Reflash phone using flashtools or update service
For some strange reason, the problem does not occur as often anymore.
I'll leave it be for now...
Rebooting the phone every 2 weeks is not that big of a problem...

Can't enable wifi

Wondering if anyone has had this problem - suddenly I cannot enable wifi on my turbo. When I switch the toggle to on, it immediately jumps back to off. Tried a reboot and no luck. Anyone know what to do?
I'm having the same problem, but it's only at work! My wifi connects fine at home but at work it will say connecting then just stop. I looked at my advance settings and I see my phone is not showing an IP address. I'm trying to download WiFi Fixer from the playstore and see if that helps.
Update: It did the same thing with Wifi Fixer. Deleted it off my phone. I hate having to resort to outside third party apps to "fix" a phone issue anyway. I'll keep trying...Let me know if you find a fix.

[Q] M7 no USB Connection, can't Shutdown

Hi guys,
I'm facing a weird problem. Hope someone could help me out.
Phone is One M7, Lollipop 5.0.2, windows 7-64bit.
To make it short and clear, here are the symptoms:
1- Shutdown always restarts phone, can't turn it off.
2-Phone not detected when connected to laptop, i tried all there is to try mentioned on XDA
3-When connected to Laptop, after some time, the USB icon in status bar appears and never gets off even after disconnecting from laptop, only goes away after restart.
I guess all the above are somehow related but can't find any of solutions working. I tried everything.
Drivers install-unistall-reinstall, USB prot cleaning, 5 cables and USB ports, safe mode on phone, malware scan on laptop, etc...
It used to work before, other phones get detected by laptop....now I'm stuck and can't do any thing through laptop connection....no ADB, no file transfer, no backup to laptop, nothing.
Does anybody have any idea of what more I could do? What's left is a factory reset that I am keeping as a last resorts, if it would help, because i don't want to lose my app data.
Appreciate any input from you guys.
Thanks.

Thanks Alray for your reply.
It doesn't turn off from bootloader also...it restarts !!
What's keeping me from the factory reset is that all backup apps that can make app data backup (Helium, or ADB backup command) require a pc connection.
So I'm kind of stuck here.
I hope that someone as experienced as yourself would have any ideas to try.

Thanks Sui77 for your help.
Although I never had battery or display changed (never sent to maintenance before at all), I will try to do what you mentioned.
I understand from the picture you posted that the screw driver is pointing to the loose cable connection, right?
Thanks again.
