[Q] Very bad battery life? help! - LG G Watch R

I received my new lg g watch r yesterday and so far as much as I'd like to use it it won't last long at all off the charger. Got it at 30% and it up out of the box. Whilst trying to charge the watch it was losing charge whilst on the cradle.
It was at 90 percent this morning and within less than 30 minutes it was at 32 percent.
I've factory reset the watch and factory reset the nexus 5 it's paired to and both running stock up to date software but still horrific battery drain. It's draining faster then the charger can charge it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to return this shock peace of kit

Sounds like you need a replacement - if both devices are totally stock, and it can't even provide enough power to charge, there might be an electrical short within the watch.

Yeah thats not right, yesterday i took off charge at 7am 100% screen on all day, lots of fiddling, it died at 1.20 am. so 18 hours use. Sounds like you have a duff battery.

I used to have bad battery life. I would get about 12 hours with my device. When I got it, I played heavily with it, and ended up enabling bluetooth debugging. I didn't think much of it, but later when trying to solve my battery issues, I disabled bluetooth debugging and now I get about 2.5-3 days of battery life! Before discovering this, I tried switching to digital watch faces, no weather, steps, etc on watch faces, but that barely affected battery life. The bluetooth debugging though, if I enable that again, the watch dies in 12 hours again. It's a huge difference for me, not sure how bad it is for others, but be aware that this can impact battery life quite dramatically.

Im not sure if im correct but i guess you have let it at least 4-6 hours for the 1st charge (by this you increase battery life ) so my opinion is to call lg and exchange it because the lg gives 1,5 days of battery life

im i dreaming this diamond reality or what

when i got this diamond phone last week the battery performance
was bad serving me with less then a day worth of power where i
had to buy a second battery.
now that i have been off from work for a few days (3 days) i finaly
had the chance to cain this phone properly eg. flipping wifi on/off
through out the day listening to shoutcast, lenghty periods trying
to setup LAN, listening music while out on the road and checking
emails, looking on the net, yapping on the phone and sending txt messages.
to my supprise the battery seem to be holding up pretty good. now it
appears to be holding out till the end of the day where before i had to
carry two batteries now i think i can get away with carrying just one.
here are my stupid questions
1, does htc batteries get better performance after multiple charges?
2, did i have a semi faulty battery and now a miracle has happend?
3, am i just dreaming that the more i use the longer the battery stays on?
today i charged the bat. at 9am (ish) and now its 3,45pm. i still have 3 bars
remaining im supprised as from before a few days ago this was not the case.
im using the daimond with no mods and standard battery.

hiya mate,
I am going through the same thing. First day I got the phone and battery was awful about 4 hours it lasted me! very shocked. but it is holding out.
I did charge the phone initially for about 12 hours as specified but don't know if that helps.
what i tend to find with new mobiles is that you have to charge fully and then DISCHARGE FULLY the phone numerous amount of times to get it to perform to the best of its abilities. I don't think its anything to do with HTC batteries, just the fact that new batteries have never been used and need to learn!

you are half right. this battery life is improving if you keep charging it but it is not advised to fully discharge them.
the fully charged-fully discharged method was for the old batteries with "memory".
somewhere in this forum, in the trinity forum somebody experimented the two ways of charging-discharging the battery. the conclusion was that it is better to charge the battery anytime, any occasion u have.
Indeed, the battery's performances (and this is applicable to all common batteries) will increase by time until it reaches its max capabilities.
To gain performance, the battery has to discharge and charge very frequently, or better, continuously. I don't really know how the Diamond manages it (meaning if the battery is full, will the device still get power from the battery if it is plugged on, or will it drain power from the cable. It could also drain from battery if it is fully charged and charge it in the same time, or it could simply always take it from the cable and charge the battery in less time)
The reverse is also true, meaning if you don't discharge/charge your battery frequently enough, its performances will decrease by time.
Also, if your battery discharges and charges all the time, it's lifetime will be longer than a battery that is only used once in a week.
I don't know if I made it clear, lol.
By the way, don't think that if you keep charging your battery you will end up with weeks of battery, there is a limit and it is 850mAh on the stock battery, if I remember correctly.
thanks for the tips some say discharging is good and some say dont.
all i know its 8:35pm and i have only used 1 bar from around 4:30
which now leave me with 2 bars. im jumping for joy because normally
by 6pm ish the battery would have already died.
with all the hammering today i cant believe it only took 2 bars in nearly
12 hours and thats with no extra charge from the psu and only 5 usb
connections to the pc to sync and add files totaling 2 - 5 minutes
on each connection.
now i can officially say this phone is "DA BOMB"
time to sell the e90 and e65
The thing that kills the battery on this phone above everything else is the GPS - knocks it out in 90minutes or less. If you were having fun (even for a few minutes) with it in your first few days, this might explain it...
GPS?

yeha that would explain it but the thing is I haven't even installed TomTom or any other GPS related app!!! weird. but i've had it for about 4 days now and battery does seem to improve slightly on a daily basis.

Battery Life Fix?

Alright, so the biggest complain to this phone is the battery life as we all know. Trying everything to stabilize the battery life, i have used many apps but no luck. One thing I have noted after trying to fix the battery with a calibrator (root required), I read my phone using 4.1V. This is strange because for a simple Watt calculation, you do w= amps x voltage. If the battery can only manage 1.5 x 3.7 or 5.55 Watts and my phone specifically is taking about 1.5 x 4.1 or 6.15 Watts, this means faster battery drain.
What I want to know if there is some sort of voltage control app or modification to the power management for the phone to remain within the V3.7 specified by the battery.
I will also say that randomly my phone decided to run no more than V3.7 on Feb 14 and this is what happened. I unplugged at 7:22 a.m and by the time 9:30 a.m Came, I was at 70%, but then my phone lasted until 6:15 p.m or 18:15 after that. And noted that i did regular texts (sent and received about 200) had a 15 minute phone call and about 1 hour and 15 minutes of bluetooth music playback (I use Bluetooth headsets **Jaybird SB2**) and some internet usage. Not 12 hours but better than the 4 hours most of us get.
What are your thoughts as well?
Juice Defender and/or Gingerbread
I use both gingerbread 2.3.5 and juice defender, still no luck. Just going to buy 3 batteries.
I wiped my internal SD and factory reset my phone, that did wonders. If you have GB and Juice Defender and your still having poor battery life there must be a problem that hopefully should be fixed with a clean slate, unless you have unrealistic expectations out of your battery.
I'll try what you have done and then ill let you know. But my battery is crazy bad. how many hours do you get? the percent drop is insane. its a little frustrating because my mind is always on battery percentage and my eyes are stuck to the notification bar looking at the battery instead of "enjoying" the phone.
I charge my battery every day.
I'm running 20C with Andida's 1980mah battery.
how often do you use it during the day? i have read that andida's 1980 only gives an extra hour
I used to get 18 or more with froyo and juice defender. Now I get similar on GB without Juice Defender that's with mild use like calls, texts, web surf. As soon as I fire up a game especially 3D ones ill charge immediately after just to be safe.
I play GTA 3 about an hour-two every day,and my wi-fi is never off
I flashed the Lestatious Biohazard Kitchen Rom after flashing the GB 21a baseband and my battery life is better than it's ever been.
buy a better battery
i brought an hyperion battery from ebay.... sure the battery is a little over double the thickness of a typical battery (it comes with a new back cover too) but the life of it is amazing!! i now can leave the phone (fully charged) for 6-8 hours while sleeping and wake up with the phone @ 97% and that's on the default rom.... best $18 ever spent

Factory Reset Helps Battery Issues

When I first received this LG Watch Urbane, I was extremely skeptical about those who claims to be able to last for more than a day. I was only getting about 18 hours a day a the most with a battery consumption of about 5% an hr.
However, I factory reseted my watch couple of days ago cuz of erratic battery drain causing from the new firm ware update.
Since then, battery consumption has gone down as low as about 2.5% to 3% an hr. Now, I have been able to easily stretch into the next day with a moderate usage on a single charge.
Please note that I have always had my brightness setting at 2, "always on" function on, and flip-to-activate watch off.
Yesterday for example, I took my watch off its charging cradle at 10:30AM and 12 hrs later, i realized the battery was still at 74%.
Hope you guys find this helpful in some regard.

Help Needed with battery life!

I need help, Since the last month, my Xperia z1 keeps turning off at 60-50 % battery. When i turn it back on without a charger plugged in it's at 1%, but when i et it charge for 2 minutes, its back at around 60 percent. Sometimes it won't charge, charge very slowly or even drop 20%.
see image for an example.

I've had the phone for almost 2 years now.
Also, these are my settings: http: //imgur.com/irqkUQT
Thanks alot in advance!
Sorry for my bad english, it's not my primairy language.
can't post any links yet, made an account just for this problem.
Your battery is dying... You need to go to a service for a battery change because this one is at the end of its life [emoji52]
I had the same problem. I changed my battery and the problem is GONE.
Since Z1 has a non-removable battery, how much do you guys pay for the battery repair ? does it co$t a lot?
Hello
I had the same problem I have to try everything. Finally I have to change battery and everything works again as before. I have had this problem since the transition. kitkat of a lollipop
what the heck do you mean by you charge the battery and the problem is gone? The problem is the phone can't survive long without charging - you can't just charge it all day long. I know because my battery has become so bad that my phone can die at 95% (and same as op, become 1% and then jump up to 100% quickly). It used to do that only when I do intensive tasks like Chrome and camera, but now it just do that for no reason. Thought it was a software thing so I was excited to get back onto XDA after several years - but got very disappointed afterwards. Here in Sweden swapping a battery costs something like $88, which isn't quite worth it considering I'm prolonging a two-year-old phone's lifespan, so I'm giving up and probably heading for the Oneplus 2 instead. So long Sony...

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 Battery Draining Fast!

Hi I noticed that my watch battery drains so fast. I charged it at noon and finished the charging at around 1 PM and after 4 hrs of not even using it much, it's down to 65%.
I would like to return the watch if the battery drains like this so fast. Any advice?
This was my fear about buying the watch. My Galaxy Watch lasts about 6 days on a charge. Try factory resetting it, maybe. Something might be stuck running.

How long have you had it? There is a period where you are playing with it more (without realizing it) and it also takes the battery several charge cycles to balance out the battery and measurement.
To troubleshoot:
Go into the Galaxy Watch app on the phone and look and see what is draining your battery. If it's a watchface, change it to test. If you don't notice anything unusual, factory reset the watch and do NOT restore the backup. Run it for some time in a "vanilla" format (no apps / watchfaces / no modified settings). If it STILL drains .. you might have an issue.
I have the 45mm LTE SM-R845U. Have LTE on, WiFi on, Bluetooth on and connected to my Note 10+. Currently 1 day 14 hours 14 min on battery and setting at 34% battery available running in standard power mode.

Thanks Wattsja! I'll do it today.
I'm actually playing around with "I'm Alive" for a true AOD. I'm still analyzing, but my current burn is @4% an hour with a constantly visible second hand (the non-continuous quartz motion). That's a 45% OPR, for the nerds (vs. Samsung limitation of 15% in dim mode).
I have a much more involved work around that is potentially a little better, as I suspect an active display looking for touches and gestures is a significant battery drain in this scenario. If I can get the burn down to 3% per hour, I might just keep this watch
I agree pretty much what others are saying here. Batteries need time to settle, and there's a lot more interaction with your new toy and lots of stuff updating and installing, far more than you think. It's exactly the same with phones.
So give it a few days and you will see it improve to your expectations.
.
I experienced intensive battery drain. Bluetooth seemed to be in a faulty status. Watch battery duration was less than one day (SM-R800 46mm). Solution was as simple as unpairing the watch and re-pairing. No need to reset.
In a previous occasion battery drain was simply due to Wi-Fi on.
