I've had my screen replaced two days ago, since then my device is making sounds by itself.
It seems to start when the screen rotates to landscape. Could it be due to the repair or something else?

That seems to be the sound of Android Beam/NFC when one tries to beam something or while using NFC. Try disabling Android Beam/NFC. Your phone needs to be looked at by a technician nonetheless.

Thanks, I knew that sound but I couldn't remember what it was... The sound a nfc connection... I've disabled it for now and see if it comes back.
It will not come back unless you re-enable it. But there seems to be some problem with your phone which is triggering false NFC notification sound. May be a loose contact after the screen replacement. Better get it checked.
So I bought the LED flip cover for my S7 Edge (EF-NG935). Although its a really good quality case I have issues with its software. The LED's on the case display the time, receiving a call or a text and afterwards it goes dark. There is no way for me to see if I have a notification on my phone. Usually the phone LED would flash slowly notifying me to check my phone. Other than that the Flip cover LED does not notify me for any general notification (viber, facebook etc). Not even when i receive a message on them. So there is no way for me to see that i just received a message or that I had received a message. Other than that it doesn't display music bars when music is playing or the volume.
What it would be excellent is that the LED's should be always on (hence low consumption). In case of a notification it should display the icon of the app that I got a notification from. The LEDs are quite a lot so its easy to figure out what app send the notification. The case costed 70 Euros which are quite a lot. There should be a customization software or something. Samsung needs to address this issue. My ROM version is : G935FXXU1APAW
I agree 100%. One of the great things about Android phones are the LED notifications, but this cover covers it and it should IMO show notifications on the cover.
Just a simple blinking diod would even be good enough.
Disappointing
Or make the dot leds always on! Can we edit it's settings with root? Does anyone have knowledge how to? The led view flip cover is really nice and has potential. But right now it's not even working right.
I reported the issue to samsung...but I'm not expecting much...xda devs is the only salvation haha. Any rom cookers that can help?
When i went to a samsung store to buy the led flip case, the first one i used had an issue like yours so we cracked open another case and tried it on and the 2nd one works like a charm and as a matter of fact no issues until now.
My previous experiences tell me that the sensor itself is faulty on the case. Go to your nearest samsung store and try a new led flip case. See if the issue is still there on a new case.
Does it show all general notifications? Like what's up, Facebook, etc? Because mine shows only time, battery charging, incoming call, and sms. No general notifications...and furthermore it should stay on all the time so I know I had a notification..like the phone led! I'll go try another one Monday...but I still want to see customization on the led case. Always on option...app icons etc.
Please explain how your case works? General notifications etc...
Ok so I was doing some googling on this, and found that it seems to work with Nova Launcher Prime + TeslaUnread (their unread badge plugin). It seems to show four dots spinning on other Samsung LED flip covers.
I don't have Nova Launcher Prime, so I can't test it. If you do, please feel free to try!
edit: ok so I've got nova launcher prime now, and it still doesn't work..
I got my info from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/accessories/led-case-review-t2993839/page2
edit 2: from reading a bit more, the note 4 led cover had some support for 3rd party apps, but that seems to be gone with S7 LED cover..
So there is a way to control it! We just need the software! Great work @dogans ! Anyone who can give us some help? I'm sure its not such a hard thing to do...if it could only take the notification bar icons...and show em on..that would be great. For example if you have a viber text...it should show a viber icon always on till you read it!

Notification only works with standard sms, prompt to swipe for call only happens when receiving calls, music player led only works with samsung music app, alarm clock with samsung built in clock app.
No 3rd party notification support.
Led doesnt stay lit all the time.
It was meant to do that.
And if u wanna check the time u can press the power/lock button.
Well that's no good. First of all..even if I get a standard sms or call..after it lids up for some seconds then it goes dark. The phone led is covered so how I supposed to notice I got a notification. If someone is willing to modify its settings or make a small app to take control of it that would be great. It's highly inefficient as is.
Luckily i read it. I was planning to buy one. Saved some money there.

No you should buy it...it's a really nice case! Even without the notifications...and I'm sure it's a matter of time till we get it right! Haha! I don't think there is a better case..leather plus led
Update: the case works with samsung music player. Wish it would stay on all the time. Volume shows up as well. So the only thing that doesn't work is general notifications and always on (which it's a must if you ask me)

Im not too sure but the number of leds there > number of lcds on a 5" lcd smartphone. If its always on, theres bound to be a huge battery drain
Well at least one led should fade in and out just to let you know you have a notification... Like the phone LED on top of the screen. Can someone write an app to control it? Or at least enable general notifications.
hi, i got problem with this s7 edge led flip case. somethimes it show the clock when i close it but sometimes not. already claim the warranty, and got new one but sadly it happen again after several hour using. one thing i noticed when the led it not show , then put my phone back on metal object suddenly led is working. what do u guys think, problem came from the case or the phone itself?
Probably nfc interference... The case works fine here. Except the above complaints. Try testing it on someone's else's phone. And try your nfc with another phone as well. If both works fine its a software problem. Hard reset!

I have the same problem like this. If the phone
attached with another phone the LED
can work properly,
But if not attached the LED not working.
Picked one up today, tried the hopeless Samsung Experience store in London - who had no S7 Edge cases at all !!!
Went to Carphone Warehouse and got a 3 for 2 deal, but again only bought the LED as that was all they had. Works fine, but boring the led as always with Samsung great idea (hardware) poor software failure to exploit hardware potential.
so did anyone figure out how to modify its software? it shouldnt be that hard i guess.
Hi all,
I've just received my Nokia 8 yesterday and I'm impressed so far however one thing is really bugging me.
Does anybody know how to turn off the haptic feedback on the fingerprint scanner when I am waking my device. I can't find the setting anywhere
There's no such one.
Ok fair enough. Thanks
Sent from my TA-1012 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It is, however, one way to turn off the fingerprint scanner vibration; set the phone in battery saving mode and it doesnt vibrate on scan anymore.
Not ideal, I know.
You can stop the vibrations.
Go to Settings -> Sound -> Advanced -> under the heading "Other sounds and vibrations" go to "Vibrate on tap" and turn that off. This will stop the haptic feedback on the 3 buttons at the bottom of the phone.
Also, to stop the haptic feedback if you set your security to enter a pin number for your SIM card, go to Settings -> System -> Languages & input -> Virtual Keyboard -> Gboard -> Preferences -> and turn Vibrate on keypress off. I personally use the Swype keyboard as my main input method but because the SIM security interface pops up before that keyboard is loaded when you boot, you have to change it in the Gboard settings to see the effect.
Hope it helps

I have always had vibrate on tap turned off and the finger print scanner still vibrates when you use it.
I think it's normal, it must somehow notify if the scan went correctly or not. With the screen off, haptic feedback is the only discreet solution. Even my Nexus 5X behaved the same way and did not allow its disabling
I believe their could be away to stop the vibration if we knew the App that it is responsible for fingerprint vibration and turn vibration off in settings of this app.
for example the Nokia 8 vibrate after missed calls, and we can stop that from App notification in settings, so I'm looking to solve this issue the same way.
so any one know which app is responsible for fingerprint reader feed back & vibration ??

It works like this always, also on Pixel and Nexus. It's a normal behavior, a way to make the user understand in a discreet way that the scan was successful or not.
I don't understand why you are asking this question as if it were a bug or a lack.

Actually it is a bug, I unlock my smartphone like more than 50 times a day and maybe more, I don't need to get notified by vibration every time I unlock my smartphone.
this is an Android misbehavior.

It isn't a bug, it's the normal behavior. It works like this on any smartphone in the world, have you noticed only now and on this specific device?
It's not a notification, it's an haptic feedback: one impulse, finger recognized; two impulse, finger not recognized; nothing, something wrong, doesn't work.
The problem that you put is like saying that I block the device several times a day and don't want the excursion and the click of the physical button, IMHO.
If anything, the problem to be asked would be to make the feedback more discrete by modulating the vibration differently.
Without that feedback, how would you realize if there was an error in the scan or does the reader not work? (considers that the unlock works with screen off and it would be a waste of battery to turn it on only to notify the wrong scan).
In the end it seems to me a philosophical question and in any case should not be placed for this specific device, but for everyone, since it works so everywhere.
No, it's a android feature, not a bug. If it wouldn't work, then it would define as a bug and would be fixed.
But seriously, it would be a minor battery saving trick to be able to disable it. It's the reason why I disabled haptic feedback on typing several years ago, as it effected battery life tremendously.
Just to add to the existing consensus, it is definitely working as intended.
Or perhaps more accurately (seeing as I can't read the minds of Nokia's development team) it is working exactly the same as it does on any of the other android phones with fingerprint readers I have used recently.
Personally I find it useful as it provides feedback on if my fingerprint has been read and if it has been successful.
Because I often unlock my phone as I'm removing it from my pocket or as I'm picking it up so that it is unlocked by the time it's in front of my eyes the physical feedback is definitely appreciated.

Hello,
I don't know. But my previous Huawei P8 lite (2017) had the option to turn it off.
That's why I'm surprised because the (better) Nokia 8 doesn't have this ability.
It's just to avoid much battery loss that it would be nice to have that option (I have to unlock many times per day..)

If you want to switch off the vibration then put your phone on battery saving mode and see the magic. Have you seen? Have you seen? Have you seen?
So this randomly started happening the other day, whenever I try and open my camera through any method, double tap power, use the app, from the lockscreen etc... it loads than says "Warning: Camera Failed" and there' an OK button that exit's the app. I've tried everything I've found online, factory reset twice, wiped cache partition, and safe mode. It also doesn't work with other camera apps. Another thing I've noticed is that the flashlight is highlighted with a light blue in quick settings but you can't turn it off or on, same with NFC. I didn't drop it or anything, I also bought it used and when I got on Samsung support the person said that they couldn't find the IMEI in their system so it's probably not available for service. Any suggestions? The only idea that I have left is that one of the third party camera apps that I downloaded said something about the camera being in use by another application, any possibility this is actually correct and I can find out what's using it? Other than that I really have no ideas
Did you dropped your phone? There's a possibility that the camera cable got disconnected form the mainboard
try the camera without your sd card. I had same issue on s7, caused by faulty sd card

I didn't drop it but I'm thinking this might be the case somehow as much as I don't want to admit it. Samsung support (however useless they were) were pretty adamant that it was a software issue.
This is becoming a widespread issue:
https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...lfie-camera-on-Note-8-not-working/td-p/208206
This may have been caused by the CRHA update that added AR Emoji and Super Slow-mo:

1.*#34971539# Do you get a menu? and is the phone to cam FW Write greyed out?
2.*#0*# Mega cam test works fine?
This issue is so strange, I have note 8 with same problem when phone is on full Stock Rom even *#0*# cam test fails reads 0 cam. However when I installed Combination Rom (Factory Binary) The camera/flash works fine in the *#0*# and even in more extensive testing menus(Its stock in combination ROM or you can use Info phone Sam app), But I don't know how to flash FW for cameras , since the options are greyed out , I believe I have to place camera FW files (get them from system image?) in a certain folder in root directory(using root explorer) then initiating *#34971539# to enable Phone ---> Cam write, anyone who had this done successfully or experimenting too, your input is appreciated.
Note: When I flash stock rom back, the same problem occurs.
Stock, unrooted, newly purchased Moto G5S Plus. I'm having an issue with the camera. It seems to not want to focus (or un-blur) 90% of the time. The other 10% (during which I have no idea what sort of magic I've done) it takes wonderful photos. I've tried third-party apps, clearing the cache in recovery, and Safe Mode. I'm upset and Motorola doesn't seem to want to help me. I'm just outside the return period (thanks for that, Motorola!) and am wondering what the community here thinks? I can always try to root and install a custom ROM but I don't know if that will help.
Hey so I've discovered if I tap my knuckles against the back of my phone either on or near the rear camera the picture immediately clears. The issue keeps happening and the tapping trick keeps working -- the tapping trick does not result in the picture going blurry again so I'm guessing it's an issue with software and not hardware. Just wanted to throw this out there in case someone else was having the same problem.
Motorola did tell me to send the phone back, but this was before I tried tapping it. I really don't want a used phone (this is my first new phone in like forever) so I'm tempted to just keep it as-is and hope the tapping keeps working.
Picture processing is terrible on this phone...
And it doesn't seem this phone is having good camera sensors..
Pictures come out blurry most of the times...
Anyways you can always try gcam after flashing a 64bit rom...

Tapping on the phone causing proper focus would indicate a hardware problem. You should return under warranty.
