So, I did everything with the pairing tool, and it worked the first time.
Played a bunch of games with it.
Today I got my mhl to hdmi, and when trying to connect the ps3 controller to play games on the TV, the app won't detect my phone.
It just says looking for controllers and never finds it.
I looked at the pairing tool again, and the phone Bluetooth address is still the master.
Any tips?
TIA

Hi has anyone found a working Bluetooth gamepad for the TAB?
I know that the Zeemote works (I have one), but its not quite the gaming experience that Im looking for, Im looking for a gamepad for playing genesis/snes/nes etc emultors and for that the one hand zeemote does not really work.
I was on the hunt for something like this too to play emu games. The only thing I could find was the MSI BGP100 which doesn't appear to exist any longer, nor would it work all that well (IMO) with the SGT since it was designed for phones back in the day.
Ive got the msi bgp100 and have the app of the market and donated for full version and it works perfectly with snesoid, nesoid, psxdroid and genoid.
They are hard to find nowadays though lol.

Wuh wuh what? When did the wiimotes all of the sudden started working! I'm gonna have to charge one up and find this out for myself.
What app did you install to get your wiimote working?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
get the wiimote and the classic controller for wiimote to play like a bluetooth gamepad, also can be used to have two player one with the wiimote and the other one with the classic controller, both working

Which app did you install from the market if any to setup and pair the wiimote? I installed wiimotecontroller from the market but when i use the init function it never finds my wiimote. I also tried to pair it with using wireless settings and it finds my wiimote but always asks for a pass or pin? Just in case you were wondering, my bluetooth setting was on.

As with the SGS the Wii remote does not work with the SGT with the original firmware. You can get the Wii Remote working on the SGS with Cyanogen CFW.
Is there a firmware build etc that would support the wiimote?
Is it just that Cyanogen has added a bluetooth profile that the SGS/T devices don't have? Do you know what that would be? It might be something as simple as modifying the bluez config files on the device. If I get a chance I'll mess with it tonight.

I have thought of the next best thing: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.45604
Im thinking of ordering one of those and customizing it to only contain the buttons that are needed for gaming. Since the TAB does have bluetooth profiles for BT-keyboards and mice. (My DiNovo mini works perfectly, but its a little bit too expensive to rip to atoms)

I got a wiimote today, tellme what to do. And I will test it.
I'm not sure that this issue is due to anything more then the Tab being hard coded to require a PIN and not being able to skip it...
When I try using WiiController (demo) it stops trying to search immediately, and I don't have Root so the RWiimote fails as well
when I go into Bluetooth settings and search I can see the wii-mote, I can connect to it however it is prompting me for a PIN which the Wii-mote doesn't support. There is no way around this pin code request so my connection fails everytime
If the Bluetooth software is designed to not allow connections without a PIN then I don't see how it can work with any software unless its designed to bypass the PIN requirement?
or I may just be missing something
Sorry to bring this one back to life again, but did anyone get the a wiimote working with the tab successfully?
I'm having the same problem Dredly, it just asks for the pin and you can't continue.
Got my Nexus 7, rooted, and setup the Sixaxis app with my PS3 controller. It works great with epsxe, but when I try to use the controller with NESOID or SNESOID, I can't seem to figure out the mapping issue.
Is anyone successfully using a PS3 Sixaxis controller with their Nexus 7 and NESOID/SNESOID? I'd love to know how you got the keys mapped properly.
Try using RetroArch, it's a whole bunch of emulators built into one. I don't have time to test out my controller right now, will probably do that tomorrow at lunch.

Hit your settings button, Settings> Other Settings, and make sure under "User Settings" that "Use input method" is checked in the individual emulator (like NESoid).
Once it is you can map it under Input Settings> Key Mappings by just pressing the buttons. Make sure in the Sixaxis app you have hit the "Change IME" button and set it to the Sixaxis controller. It works perfectly for me on NESoid, SNESoid, and GENsoid across all my devices.
Thanks, that worked. What was throwing me off is that when you go to map the keys, it says <unknown> instead of the key. Still worked, though. Rocking.

ok im having a little trouble with six axis and some emulators here perhaps you guys can help me. ive been able to map most of them pretty well but i am having a hard time with gbcoid and snesoid not mapping my start and sometimes select buttons correctly. i can get everything else to work but when i press the two center ones nothing happens. I end up having to touch the screen to use these and that can be a hassle. Any suggestions on how to map it so i can get full function out of this controller?
hi guys..

Hi all! I found that a developer here at xda developed blueputdroid some years ago, but it seems that is incompatible with the stock rooted .205.
I want to use the phone as a ps3 controller, not only pair it to play games on android phone, but I searched and didn't found a method to get any app working.
I have another problem, I tried pairing via bluetooth on the ps3's menu, but the console doesn't found my phone, and I ensured that the phone was visible.
The question is, someone knows any method to use the phone as a gamepad? And a way to be detected by the console via bluetooth or wifi? Thanks!!

Yes, it has an option, but is for using the sixaxis as a gamepad.
What I wan't do is the opposite, use the phone as a gamepad.
Thanks for your response.

Hello all! I have recently bought the Google I am cardboard, and it's
Amazing! I've found a game ( a flight sim) for cardboard, that needs to have a joystick
Connected, and asi do not have any specific android controller, I wanted to connect my ps3 controller. But there's a problem! I have connected the controller to the phone using the otg cable, and once I open the sixaxis enabler app, and tap on enable sixaxis, it sais "no sixaxis detected" . I have tried using a different controller cable ( leaving the same otg...I only have one of those. ..) , i have tried rebooting the phone, and i have also tried leaving the controller off until tapping "enable sixaxis" and also turning it on as soon as u connect it.
Also, the controller isn't getting charged when I attach it, nothing happens.
Is it the otg cable's fault? Or can I do something about it? Is there any other non-root method to connect the controller?
Thanks !!
Yo! If you are rooted you can use the sixaxis controller app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dancingpixelstudios.sixaxiscontroller
It has a native gamepad setting that works flawlessly. Ive been playing odd world with native game pad. It rocks on Note 4.
I'm really not sure if it would work on Cardboard. I guess if the app is native gamepad compatible then it should be OK.

Sorry. Just re read and saw Non Root. My bad.
As far as I know you should be able to pair it via Bluetooth. if you have a cable Plug it in so it registers then go to blue tooth settings. And you should see it in there.
That's how it worked on my old desire HD.
Peace
Make it easy on your self and use an Xbox 360 controller. It works without software. But plugged in. The ps3 controller needs the six as is app and has issues on its own.
That's all or get the official controller for the note 4.
Does the Xbox one controller work on Android?

I think I'll have to buy an android specific / note 4 specific controller, I don't own xbox 360 ; ( Anyway, it might be that there's a problem with the cable, might be broken, because the controller doesn't even flash the red lights ( as it should whenever it is plugged in and charging)

You can get a 360 controller pretty cheap through amazon. the only other one I would recommend is the Moga controller because it works with Modern Combat

Cool, thanks, I'll give it a look , and decide, but first I want to take the otg cable back to the shop, and test it with the shopkeeper, hoping that if we find out it's broken, he gives me a new one!

your english is perfectly fine dude.
didnt really wanna spend more cash on another pad.
i have 4 xbox one pads and also a microsoft wireless adaptor, a couple of wii pads and 2 x ps3 pads knocking about. ps3 pads have borked batts tho.
something amongst that lot must work?! :crying:
If you really wanna use your Xbox One Controller, you can use an otg-adapter to plug in the wireless-adapter of your controller. If this doesn't work for you, you have to root your device and set up the controller via an extra app. An easier way to play emulator games on your tablet is using your smartphones as bluetooth controller. For this method you don't need to root your phone. Just load the app "BT Controller" via Playstore on your phone and your tablet and follow the instructions to connect them via bluetooth and easiely setup the buttons layout. You can set up 4 smartphones as controller at the same time
Hope i could help you

the tab s2 is rooted.
i have tried it with OTG, wired and using an adaptor.
the tab sees the controller when its wired using the USB/BT joystick centre but thats as far as it goes, no key presses on the pad register.
i havent tried to use my phone as a controller, that kinda defeats the object tho', i may as well just use the tablet screen.
ok,
so it seems Play station pads with OTG function flawlessly.

I can confirm this; I use a Playstation 3 controller via OTG and an adapter regularly. I always start the Sixaxis app whenever I do, but not sure if I need to... I haven't even tried using it with blutooth, but it's an easy way to switch the IME to the controller.
