I would love too, but I don't have my tablet z anymore.
I'm thinking of a new tab in the future, a tab z2, or something even better
Right now I'm "busy" with my new oneplus one.
Nonetheless great job of yours!

you "hope" ?!?!? why?
well hey buddy i don't break your arm to flash this, and its FAR to be my first rom! , if u don't wanna break anything just don't flash it.
im just too busy now to flash it, or u wait, or u don't flash...simple as that.
BTW as its booting and working perfect on my Yuga (Z), and so for Odin (ZL) wich are same platform....means same kernel sources "fusion3" i don't see why its not gonna work...
regards.

I have installed omnirom 4.4.4 with Multirom- TWRP 2.8.1
Can i flash your Rom without a PC ? (No PC with me)....
How ?

my tester just flashed it....it boots up so...
from omnirom KK sure u can but if u wanna come back KK u gonne need a pc, cuz cm lollipop recovery is broken for all devices, u need to fastboot a KK boot.img in order to get back working recovery

But how exactly to flash ?
1. Place the ROM on your SD-Card.
2. Extract boot.img included in zip and fastboot flash it via Flashtool or CMD
3. Reboot to recovery.
4. Wipe data-factory reset/cache partition/dalvik cache
5. Flash the ROM.
Did i need 2.) ??
or can i directly go to TWRP an flash your .zip ?

I think it's a good idea to wipe system too. I initially used the boot.img (I actually used the CM11 one) as I'd screwed up my recovery by installing the latest TWRP 2.8.4.0 on the fota partition, I think that version is faulty. But I tried installing TWRP 2.8.1.0 on fota once up and running and screwed it up again! (black screen when trying to boot to recovery). So I flashed a stock ftf, booted and flashed an omnirom boot.img with fastboot, booted into it (2.8.1.0) and flashed this rom no problem. So I guess if you already have TWRP, you'll be ok!
*edit* Oh no! My recovery got overwritten with Cyanogenmod recovery. (No options to install zips) Hoping I can get TWRP back...
Tapatalked that shiznit.

well ...i have to modify steps, because as included recovery into lollipops kernel, i was wishing cyanogen fix their sh*t, but it semms they are not gonna fix it soon, is broken, u can't flash anything from it, or else from sideload.
better way is:
From a fastboot flashed cm11 (yeah KK) boot.img (or if u already are on a cm11/or based rom with working recovery)
u boot into recovery
make a nandbackup
wipe data factory reset+wipe cache partition+wipe dalvik cache
flash rom+gapps
reboot
let settle
reboot once again...
Huge thanks to @scoobyjenkins for testing and spending whole afternoon to try flashing and freak out lolz

Lollipop links wrong way round
BEWARE !!!! The links in the OP for the Lollipop ROMs are the wrong way round
The pollux one goes to pollux_windy, and the pollux_windy one goes to Pollux
I nearly flashed the pollux to my wifi-only 311 UPDATE : Links sorted :good:
UPDATE : Flashed, booted (took a few minutes for first boot - be patient!), No GPS. Not had time to try anything else.

Well I think I'm getting somewhere... After having my recovery overwritten, I flashed stock ftf again, booted, flashed omnirom boot.img (TWRP 2.8.1.0) and flashed Pacman Rom 4.4. Then I booted to recovery and it was once again overwritten by cwm. So I booted to system, used the fota install method for TWRP 2.6.0.0 and hey presto! It was successful. So I'm guessing later versions won't stick if flashed for the first time. I was on TWRP since 2.6.0.0 and have updated using fota method ever since. So now I've installed this rom again and will see if I can get TWRP 2.6.0.0 to stick, then maybe update...

There our three methods (That may work) to try if it does not want to flash in twrp they our
1. Unmount system then flash
2. Factory Reset, reboot to recovery again then flash
3. Flash CWM and in this case try flashing a alt kernel
Edit: Windy is up

Installed with no problem using TWRP 2.6.3.0 :good:
Backed up using TWRP (Was running PAC ROM android 4.3)
Factory wipe, + wipe Dalvik & cache to be sure.
Flashed LiquidSmooth
Wipe Dalvik & cache again - just incase
Reboot - no problem - running LiquidSmooth
I'm now going to flash the provided Slim Gapps zip. Will report back if there's a problem
Testing beta
I will flash this rom also once i'm off work. Thanks for bringing this to the tab Z!
I am curious about this rom. Does it have double tap to wake?
Not yet or i didnt see where to activate it...but double tap status bar to sleep yes
SplitView aka multiwindow is working perfect...only Pie; i had to reboot to get it work.
And getting some fc's here and there...will bring back logcats tomorrow

How about looking 2 posts before?
So far this ROM is working excellent on Pollux in Dalvik.
Been using for two days for a total of around 24 hours and not had a single major problem. Very impressed its the slickest ROM I have used yet on 4.4.
I was using cm11 fidelity, then got a random reboot halfway through a game and got stuck in bootloop so thought I'd give this a try.
For anyone having issues, I had flashed cm11 fidelity inc mods then booted into CWM, didn't reflash kernel from laptop (no access at minute) just factory reset and wiped cache and dalvik cache.
Not major but once orr twice on MX player had the common sound bug, where the sound seems to stall for half a second, didn't have this on fidelity but had it on every other 4.4 ROM. One other issue is if you get a notification with headphones in, it still plays through loudspeakers too.
Very well done with this ROM guys thank you.
I dirty flashed it and i dont know why people says to modify first post i got it first try and apparently im not the one...
Well, someone else having trouble to mount SD?
I tried then a clean install and same thing, and also tried it with omni kernel...same thing, also no sd access from rom.

Could someone please test this new boot animation it is sized for this tablet, it is not flashable you will need to manually replace it, rename the 2560.zip to bootanimation.zip

Introduction
MultiROM is one-of-a-kind multi-boot mod for Nexus 7. It can boot any Android ROM as well as other systems like Ubuntu Touch, Plasma Active, Bohdi Linux or WebOS port.Besides booting from device's internal memory, MultiROM can boot from USB drive connected to the device via OTG cable. The main part of MultiROM is a boot manager, which appears every time your device starts and lets you choose ROM to boot. You can see how it looks on the left image below and in gallery. ROMs are installed and managed via modified TWRP recovery. You can use standard ZIP files to install secondary Android ROMs, daily prebuilt image files to install Ubuntu Touch and MultiROM even has its own installer system, which can be used to ship other Linux-based systems.
Features:
* Multiboot any number of Android ROMs
* Restore nandroid backup as secondary ROM
You can also watch a video which shows it in action.

WARNING
It is dangerous. This whole thing is basically one giant hack - none of these systems are made with multibooting in mind. It is no longer messing with data partition or boot sector, but it is possible that something goes wrong and you will have to flash factory images again. Make backups. Always.

Yes, I know this bug. Multirom-TWRP doesn't work in landscape currently. You have to change it to landscape. So, go to Settings -> Screen and set rotation to 90.

No. It stores the data in the multirom folder on the internal sd-card. You can read more in the original multirom thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2011403

https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23622183712465782 is a recovery.img. Don't flash it to boot partition.
I updated the OP with the new link.
What happens after a nightly omnirom update which updates the recovery (TWRP) ??
Update 2014-09-04 will change TWRP !?

Here some screenies of the rom the way u will have it after flash...
And here some screenies of my own devices to show what layers can do =)...
Really enjoyed checking this out last night, managed to restore data from my backup of Unofficial CarbonRom and all works well. One thing I noticed from the start is once I created secondary users, when switching from one to the other, the unlock icon (or secure lock) isn't visible but if insecure, can still swipe to unlock. Turning display off then on again makes it visible, which I need for the lock pattern on my main account! Also in lock screen theme settings, I can choose a colour but there's no button to set it. Other than that, everything seems great. Will let you know if I find anything else, think I'll be staying with this rom for a while. Do you think it might be possible to have a dark ui switch? I think pop ups look much nicer in black!

In fact the question was for @Alx31TLse
lol u know @varben....to avoid conflicts and time losses, i use cm one all the time, my point is to provide much choices to users as i can; and to make custom sh*t i must leave some projects on the side, wich is not my point of vue...users still can flash it over mine it doesn't matter
...u got me? what u think?
@scoobyjenkins
well i saw u active on g+ come on there on GZR community and ask there for dark ui and everything.... will be easier to bring team in conversation
glad u like it; i will flash it also; its my daily driver on my yuga; runs pretty smooth since compiled with linaro and sabermod toolchains

Whatever is convenient to you.
Since I read that this is based in aosp/slim I was wondering if you worked in cm kernel to make it work.
I like the omni path, and that's why asked, hoping to use this kernel (if custom) on omni.
I hope I was clear in expressing my thoughts...
Yeah ok bro
nope so i used cm one...i like omni also; but not the skills ...yet... to play with it

Cool, cheers. Could you also check to see if when switching users the unlock icon (secure or insecure) is missing? It is for me but turning the screen off and on again brings it back. You can actually swipe to unlock even though you can't see the icon. Also in settings where there are colour options, like setting the theme of the lock screen, there is no button to apply the chosen colour! Other than that, loving this rom, very smooth and feature rich.

First of all... Thanks buddy for bringing Nougat Custom ROM to our beloved Nexus 4... Truly loving this [emoji7]
@zaclimon brought us first ever daily driver rom & now you developer folks are adding features over it... You all are Amazing guys!!
I can see "volume rocker wake" in screen shots... I was absolutely missing this one from MM rom ..
Wants to try this ROM...But I have 125+ apps already installed so do not want start from scratch (clean) .... So can you tell me below steps will help to keep all apps (data 4.5 gb actually) & only replacing system partition will works for me....
1. Nandroid backup of existing rom (boot + system)
2. Wipe boot, system, dalvik & cache (not Data)
3. Install Nitrogen-os + gapp + super-su
4. Wipe dalvik & cache
5. Reboot
Please suggest....

@nitin.chobhe are you planing on bringing OTA on this ROM as well as on the Android 6 based one. I'm maintaining the two major of my girlfriends parents. Her dad uses Chroma ATM, and her mom Nitrogen as it comes with OTA which she's in need of, as she doesn't know to much about flashing and all that's around. Would be great as I could upgrade her phone next time I'll see her.
I install substratum and Deity theme, after install mods of Deity theme , my device no starts more, why?

Considering the number if apps you have, I would advise you to backup all your apps + app data with titanium backup, flash rom, gapps, SuperSU and restore back the apps...

AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

1. Yeah,I declared the L"X"1 value to say that it is compatible with both L31 and L21.
2. AICP is "fatter" than CM since it has extra features,so no reason to panic. :silly:
3.I personally use the Pico package and then just install other Google apps which I need. That is the beauty of Open Gapps, you have several options.

@The Marionette thanks for this amazing work. There is some possibility that you can support the VNS-L23 variant? It is practically equal to the L31, with the only differences that do not have NFC support, the bands 4G are different and it has 2GB of RAM. Greetings.
Hey @The Marionette,

Someone on the question and answer thread had the same problem. See if any of his answers helps.

@The Marionette thanks for this amazing work. There is some possibility that you can support the VNS-L23 variant? It is practically equal to the L31, with the only differences that do not have NFC support, the bands 4G are different and it has 2GB of RAM. Greetings.

I have the L21 variant and it works fine for me. If CM works on your device,AICP will work as well.

Did you follow the instructions or did you do it your own way?
Are you coming from stock?
I think everyone needs to be on CM before flashing.
I flashed it exactly like I described and it booted.
The only downside is that the TWRP goes red(thinks the current ROM is stock) and data can't be mounted. I will look into it.

I followed Meticulus instructions first (did all backups and dump) and then i followed your instructions from OP but i come from stock rom, did not try to install Meticulus CM ROM... So now i managed to get past password screen by formating data partition to FAT and then formating it back to ext4 but now when phone boot i get "Decryption unsuccessful" screen and when i click "reset phone" button it reboots in recovery, wipe cache and then boots up back to "Decryption unsuccessful" screen...
I am downloading now Meticulus build to try with that... Will report back soon...
EDIT: I managed to boot AICP!!! By doing this:
First i updated recovery (did not see that Meticulus pushed V2) then i flashed Meticulus CM build but i got "Decryption failed" screen again but this time when i clicked "reset phone" buton the phone just rebooted to TWRP.
Then i did again full harcore wipe and flashed CM with open gapps and the phone booted in to system without problem, from that point i figure that AICP must work now so i rebooted back to TWRP, did another hardcore full wipe, flashed AICP with Open Gapps micro ARM64 version and the phone finaly booted to AICP
Btw i noticed few thing while doing all this... When i first booted CM my SIM card was not recognized but i figured it needs some time to get the signal or wathever but that never hapend and i cheked camera app and in setting of the app i saw that front and back camera was set to full resolution and the photo i took was really in full (13Mpix) resolution... After checking that and few more things i flashed AICP and at first boot my SIM still not working so i figure i will reboot and after second boot the SIM works again but in this ROM front and back camera are set to 2.1mpix (not a problem for me, just saying for ppl to know)...
Now i am going to play with this awesome ROM!
Thanks @The Marionette
EDIT 2: So after few hours of playing with AICP i been forced to go back to stock because my mobile network gone crazy, every 5-10 minutes it disapear and only reboot helps to get connected again and when network disapears the UI get so much lag that is almost unusable...
I can confirm that other things in ROM work as it should, fingerprint, themes, sound bar, navigation bar customization, lcd density, UI animations customizations etc...
Nice work and keep up the good work! ?
So I am running this ROM on my device since yesterday and I really like it. Seems very stable and allows for a lot of modifications.
It drains a lot of battery while listening to music when the device is locked but I also experienced this on the CM ROM.
I am keeping it on my device for now and am looking forward to new updates
Hello @The Marionette,
May I ask you if you plan to update the AICP ROM with the update from CM? Thank you
