[Q] Sdcard not mounted in ported rom - HTC Sensation XL

Hi every one,
I'm trying to port a 4.4.4 rom to sensation xl but the biggest problem I have till now is that the sdcard is not mounted after booting, with all sort of roms i used as port ( ace, saga o endeavor roms).
I've tried to fix the vold.fstab even to not put it in the ported rom, but i still have the same problem. :crying:
When a use a file explorer to go into internal sdcard, it saying that it's need more permission. When I give Es explorer root permission, i can got to system files, but when entering sdcard0 there's nothing showing there.
Anyone here can tell me how to fix the problem ?

[HELP] SD card read only issues

Ok so I have my OB for about 2 months. I have rooted and currently using Zeus rom from Huexxx
Everything is fine except a strange problems that keep bugging me and getting really annoying. For some unknown reason sometimes I could not download contents to my sdcard and apps that need to write data on SD card start crashing and malfunction. I checked by Root Explorer and found out that my SD card was on r/o and at that point I try to fix it by mounting r/w. It seems to work for a while unfortunately same issues will appear shortly after.
I have tried everything: formatting the card with my laptop, or my phone and running disk checking ( found no errors), still doesn't fix it
Please help. I'm really frustrated now
i had the same problem. in my case i was using an sd card from my previous phone. when i baught a new card and flashed my phone with zeuw rom v3 (previously i was in stock rom rotted) my problem disapeared. in my case it only happens 2 timew before i flashed the new rom. also you can try to use a new file explorer (f.e. astro) that does not support root so you can eliminate the possibility that the problem is due to the file manager is changing on it's own the read/write permission on your sd card. that is what i am doing. i use astro for evrything exept when i use root explorer for playing with the rom!!!
hope i helped you

Hmm I tried your method unfortunately it didn't work.
Also it can't be my SD card because I purchased it brand-new at a big store with 5 years guarantee. It works flawlessly when I put it in an adapter and plug in my card reader.
Thank you anyway

problem sdcard cm10

hi everybody! i don't know if this is the proper place where ask that but i have a problem with latest cm10 nightly build. i flashed it (i was using cm7) several times and my phone still can't read my external sdcard...any ideas about how to fix it? do i have to wipe data or is a bug that everyone knows appart from me? thanks a lot
ps:sorry for my bad english http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
Use es file manager and give root permission in setting. Go to folder /storage. sdcard0 is internal, sdcard1 is external.

[Q] SD Card not installed

Hi guys,
I recently bought a HTC One, I rooted it cause I wanted to change the htc icon to being operational so then flashed the kernel teaMSeven-sense-4.2.2-kernel-v2.1.4.zip. All appeared to be fine but now I am being told that I have no SD card installed so I can't access my photos, use my camera or access the Dropbox app properly. I presume there are some other issues but can't be sure yet. When I connect my computer to my laptop I can access the internal storage without a problem. When I go to recovery mode and go to Advanced - File Manager - sdcard I can see all the folders. Also when I go to mount and try it first gave an error that usb-otg couldn't mount and now it hangs at updating partition details.
Please help!

try this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1YiI-ZZGBs
USB OTG is not your internal storage.
I had the same issue and that video is far too complicated for what you actually need to do.
This is what I did when I upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2 on my HTC One.
Issue: You will have a new place for your data now. The default under 4.2.2 is now /data/media/0. Under 4.1.2 it was /data/media. Notice the extra /0 - that's for a multi-user environment.
Resolution: Needs root access, of course.
1. Install ES File Explorer
2. Enable ES File Explorer to have root under it's settings.
3. Navigate to /data/media
4. Ta-da! All your old files are there! NOW...
5. Select and move your files that you want to keep from /media/data to /media/data/0
This worked for me 100%. My free storage was only 2.58Gb with a fresh 4.2.2 install. Because I moved all my wanted files across and deleted all the other legacy items, it's now about 13Gb free.
Used the youtube vid so thanks for that osmosizz, worked well and thought me a bit in the process like getting your java paths right!!
Will try your method Joe if this happens again, cheers

burnt internal memory

Hello! First sorry of my english!
I have i9000 internal memory of his burnt. As a result, the device turns on only to symbolize Samsung Dwonload Mode and Recovery. I found a solution to put an external sd card partitioned and install ROM through Odin and then error correction dbdata file then the device increases. I Divided with minitool partition but the device did not initilaze. So i installed Recovery blue cwm that comes with cm10.1 (do not remember the version of Recovery) partitions divided his card and rose with the beauty device Orange Rom 2.3.5. currently i have a problem access to my files and when i run camera you get an error "Turn off USB storage". I found solutions to Root the device and install on your computer myphoneexplorer and through root explorer installed on your device. Then access the device via root explorer etc folder name change or replace the file vold.fstab the same file, but the device instruction set that gives access to an external card if it is inside. I did it but without success.
Would appreciate help on this issue and if I was wrong for the whole process I will be happy to correct Thank you very much!

[Q] sd/external card mount problem!

hello,
please i need some Help!
gt-19295 on lollipop 5.0.1
the problem started that whatsapp stopped downloading media, and when i try to download it say there's no enough space, even that there were enough space.
i don't know what started the problem!! but maybe after root!
i did some changes to platform.xml ..
but know the problem extended to,
all apps stopped working ( cause they can't reach sdcard maybe) even i can't start helium to make a back up!
even "my files" say that there's no files ( not seeing internal or external card)
and es file explorer when choosing sdcard say "cannot start streaming server"
but root explorer can explore files from /storage/emulated (external and internal)
===>
i 've unrooted it and restored the original platform.xml
downgrade it to kitkat and re upgrade it
cleared cache partition
nothing worked!
please what could be the problem ? and how to fix it?
sorry if i didn't make it so clear , cause im not so fluent in English.
and thank you for reading.
P.S when i was flash a firmware it was restore the custom status to official ,but now it stay custom !
There's noway I can reset system settings and keep personal data!
(apps data contacts messages..)
removing-replacing-editing files using root explorer?!
cause this is the only thing works now! :T
