Hello xda,
so I killed my EFS Partition on my last Moto X and had to send it in. That cost me 100€ but I got a new phone, with a locked bootloader. I confirmed this with 2 Motorola Chat Supports, but if you unlock your bootloader, they wont honor their warranty, even if its a hardware problem that was there from the beginning. So I'm kind of scared to unlock the bootloader again, but I really want root. Is there any way to root without unlocking? Thanks in advance !

Hey everybody,
I am on official JB and want to root. Will there be a method at some point to root it without unlocking the bootloader? What do the experts think - I know you cant look into the future, but what are your experiences from other phones, is it very likely that there will be sth. or not?
The other method would be to unlock the bootloader. So do you expect that the bootloader logo can be exchanged again at some point?
Thanks
Thorsten
I have a friend who asked me to root his HTC One M7 from sprint. I told him yes, and when I explained that we had to unlock the bootloader, it would wipe his phone clean. Well after that he told me it is flashed to PagePlus. If I go to unlock the bootloader so I can root it, will the phone lose its compatibility with PagePlus? Plus can anyone direct me to a good tutorial for unlocking the bootloader and rooting this phone?! Thanks in advance!!!!

Hey.
First of all, you can unlock the bootloader through Motorola website.
You can't root this phone with locked BL.
You cab try kingroot , heard they had a progress but not sure if it works for this model, you can try.
Good luck.
Hey Guys!
I have been doing some research into decoding the key generation process. And i think I can crack it with your support.
It would be great if you guys can share your unlock data and the key you got from motorola.
So that it can help people unlock boot loader without voiding their warranty.
So it's a humble request for those of you who have already unlocked their bootloader to share their info.
Message back please!
Once you unlock bootloader, your warranty is void automatically. Even if you lock it again, it is already tampered as unlocked. Afaik, code is device specific.
