[UPDATE][DEV][WIP] CyanogenMod 12 BETA - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hey guys, since I installed CM11 on my Xperia V I got a little interested in CM12, so I'm getting their CM12 branch to try to start building CM12 for Xperia V(MAYBE T), but I don't know is it any worth it? CM12 is coming in less than a month, the code is/optimization is not yet stable. I see a lot of devices getting the taste of Lollipop, so I guess I can do something in my free time, I have abandoned developing for a while, when my Xperia X8 died and I don't have a lot of time to do so, but what are your thoughts on this? ^
This is not a promise or anything like that, I said I'll MAYBE do it, I'm currently checking the branch!
UPDATE: So since a lot devices are getting homebuilt CM12 or CM12 Beta I thought I should make one for Xperia V, wish me luck and lets hope I don't get a lot of errors :silly:
UPDATE 2: Here I am with a new update It's going good and also bad, the developing is going good, but I kinda messed up(don't hate me for that) ^_^ since I'm building on VirtualBox i placed VHDD on a wrong partition and messed up syncing the source code, so I have to go over, but this time I'll take my laptop to university library since they have super fast internet and i'll be back on track in few days!
UPDATE 3: Guys VirtualBox is giving me a lot of problems, I'm considering to Dual-Boot windows and ubuntu or reinstall VBox, which would mean starting all over, sadly
I'll keep you updated
UPDATE 4: I decided to start all over, since it didn't do go well as I expected and everything went to ballsack so yeah, sorry to inform you, but starting all over :/
FINAL UPDATE: I have compiled a build for V, but the kernel wasn't good so it messed the phone up, anyway,WhiteNeo made a Bootable CM12(kudos) so check out his thread. This means I will not be building CM12 anymore, but help WhiteNeo if i possibly can.
AGAIN, I'm not promising anything! :good:

Nice of you to think about doing it, but for me personally, I'll wait for a daily driver.

That's what I'm thinking also, I mean I can make something, but for no particular reason, because it's coming out in a month and a little more stable version in two or so. I guess I can devote myself to it only if they don't officially release it, but let's all hope that's not gonna happen!

Hey, well we can get some pre-alpha 4.4 AOSP builds maybe, but these will definitely have bugs, i do believe adam has built a 4.4. omni rom but i don't know much about bugs/boot status etc.
We are still waiting for cyanogenmod to merge sources, however they have stated that they are in no rush to start dishing out 4.4 roms as they have only just sunken their teeth into 4.3 Roms, we will get them eventually, however any builds within the next few days will have little customization or lots of bugs, patience is all we have till then
I hope this answered your question, also, this needs to be in the Q&A section next time bro
Good evening.

Please understand that all the great things you've been hearing about android 4.4 wont apply to us for quite some time, what i mean by this is all the efficiency/ performance improvements will be somewhat mitigated buy bugs and firmware incompatibilities, these things take time for devs to work through, 4.3 still isnt mature enough on this device to call it stable.
I just don't want people to get overly excited by a 4.4 port, its improvements will come gradually.

4.4 sure is on its way for our device, BUT:
Google is removing more and more support for our device, as it already is pretty old. So we need to re-add everything.
Even if it's booting, we still need a lot of work in order to get the most important stuff working (like SurfaceFinger, Audio, and ofc also data/RIL)
So regarding 4.4, all I can say is: Have patience
BTW, Thread moved to Q&A section

Yes they are functionally stable to a user, but to call a rom stable (at least by Cyanogenmods standards) requires more than that.

Doesn't use dirty patch code to fix issues in source, usually done to get a release out quicker, between release candidates to stable this code is refined.

Sometimes it's still necessary to do. This is the case with our EGL libs for example. The best would be getting an update from LG, but this is very unlikely to happen. I got 4.3 BSP partially working, updated all graphics-related libs to 4.3 from grouper, but it broke a few things. Porting the full BSP might not be even possible.
Regarding Omni 4.4, I gradually found probably all needed patches for it, will see when I get to computer.

[Q] Sony AOSP ROM Modification for V

Sorry if its too noob question.
I was wondering, Sony have released some AOSP Sources for Xperia. Now, I was thinking, if it is possible to build one KitKat For XV/XT by modifying those, and as we already have the binary drivers from stock FTF dump.
If it is possible (not just theoretically, also practically)
I am downloading BBQ Linux now and planning to do this. Any guidelines will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Its possible, but you'll get nothing but a plain AOSP rom without custom rom features.

Thanks for assuring I don't need the Custom features, I just need to be able to run all the Sony Software (I miss CyberShot ) with KitKat on my XV
My BBQ download is finished, tonight I'm going to setup the whole thing and start Studying on this Let's hope it's not too tough for me to complete :fingers-crossed:

Nope, that's just a bad dream :crying:
Sony Released AOSP for XL and they gave some propitiatory binary. I Will first try to compile for XL (Planning to get my brother's set)
Try to run Cybershot for L. Then, if it works, I will try to find the same/similar binary files from my XV Stock dump and then try to build one AOSP for XV.
So far this is my plan. Even if Cybershot porting is not possible, I could learn something New, that's the real goal here
Thats always the goal. :good:
Learned a lot myself developing my rom.

[Q] Xperia SP ROM REQUEST

Hello,
First sorry for my bad english
I love the 4.1 stock look of SONY and the "fluidity" (I don't think it's the right word xD) of the stock 4.1, but i love new features of new 4.4.4 ROM (On LBL) so i've try to make it myself but it's too BIG!! DEVS are so STRONG LOL!!!! it' not for me.
So i ask to dev if some one can make it... PLEASEEE! xD
I'm quite sure noone will do so.
There are already quite allot of ROMs available.
Just try a few out and see which one suits you best.

Lollipop for the Optimus 2x

Welcome to the official thread for the Lollipop roms for our Optimus 2x
As to start, this thread is exclusively for the developers who are interessted/working on on the Lollipop ports for our Optimus 2x
We had alredy some build like the OmniRom , CM12 and even ParanoidAndroid.
This thread is exclusively for discussions for the developers and for the testers to test the new made roms so I will update the links as the roms get made. So I am only posting here the links of the latest version, to get the versions from the past you wil need to browse throught this thread
Update 05/6/2016
Gucky did it again! New build for CyanogenMod 12.1 is up, and now with fixed camera! When I get the full list of working features and bugs, I will upload it here. Thank you Gucky for your massive help and contribution to this community. This device is very old after all, and you still find the time to tinker on it. No words really. Respect!
CM12.1 : https://sourceforge.net/projects/lg...cm-12.1-20160531-UNOFFICIAL-p990.zip/download
WARNING the Rom is still not stable, but we are close!
ParanoidAndroid: https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/Puri/p990/AOSPA(lollipop)
Take in mind that all these roms are unstable besides the CM12 rom,but it still has some major bugs which we as a group will fix.
As in all of this, stay tuned for updates
Good job my friend
Thank you very much. I'm downloading right now. It would be useful, if you could upload your (Lokal) Manifest, too. So we are able to re- build the rom with the necessary changes.
Looking forward!
Credits goes to you!

Hello everyone. As you might know me from some threads where i comment some stuff.Anyways, since Lollipop was announced i was obssesed with it and my wish was that i would be the first one to make the version availble for our device.
Well i kinda did it....KINDA of course but we need some help if we wanna make it work.I call ALL of the developers for our device to work together to make it work.We are so close to get it fully booting.I made it boot to the animation and now where the help comes in use.We need some developers who can enable ADB on our device in the bootanimation.TO be honest i dont really know anything about sources and that stuff but i know some things. With the help of @tonyp and @timduru which I am the most thankfull of that gave me hope to make this.So here we go!
WARNING!!!
ONLY FOR DEVELOPERS
No one should download and flash this rom because you will get stuck in the bootanimation and will need to install previouse rom again and install everything over...blah blah blah.
Also the link to the rom is here ----> https://www.dropbox.com/s/fwhg08ux7qhtgsh/5.0 test.zip?dl=0
So if someone gets it working, please pm me in the progress. Cheers

nope, didn't touch anything other than the updater script i think and the build prop because i wanted fully stock experience
I can be your tester my phone got a battery problem so im having fun with flashing roms
I will try to exchange the updater script from my build with yours.
Lets see if I can flash mine.
And your your problem: I think there are one or more patches that we maybe need, witch timduru wont need because of the tegra3 hardware. (maybe some patch for our old egl hardware)

Well, it might be that he used KatKiss from timduru for the TF101 which has a Tegra 2, but still our phone uses the Tegra 2 AP20H, while the TF101 uses Tegra 2 T20. Small difference in the chipset, but still a difference. Easiest would be to port from the Galaxy R or Captivate Glide, but they too struggle with Lollipop over in their forum. Anyway, TheMysteryouse used timduru's AOSP rom, so maybe it would be easier building the whole thing from the demo CM12 sources available.

Nope, this rom has NOTHING to do with the tegra 3 rom.I used the rom for TF101 tablet which is tegra 2 but had a cmall chipset difference. So yeah I am still trying to do some things like searching the framework sources from tony to see if he has a code in the build.prop which directly enables ADB from the boot, but cant really find it.Anyways try your best and so the others.Cheers
Hi guys, after some testings I could get booting to finish. There are some errors left. But I will work further this evening and upload the rom afterwards. Think this will remain a test build for some time, till Tony or DJ can fix the errors.
Stay tuned!

Awesome news buddy! Lollipop on first power dual core android device! Switch to 1+ One as a primary phone for some reason but I will continue to follow and supporto you!
That is great!!! ))))))))
Ok. I have to go one step back. The rom is not ready for the testers and I'm too tired to test more. For those, who want to repeat my steps or want to finish...
I replaced the files in Mystery's rom with my own Kitkat ones. The first half, than the second. Now I could get it to finish the booting process. This steps I went on and on. So I could reduce the problem to the framework-files in "system". If you replace all of them, it boots up with some error messages.
I think we have to reduce the 40 files inside more and more to find the reason for the bootloop.
All the best to you,my friends!
Damm this is great a device from 2010 receives android L. 4years later. If I can borrow the old optimus 2x from my father then I could also look into the problems if it's not booting yet then. Till then continue your work.

[Q] Stable Kitkat vs Unstable Lollipop

Hello there,
I recently moved to cyanogenmod 11 on my xperia ZR, and found it extremely good and stable.
Although we still dont have a stable CM12 for ZR, but ported ones are available, and giving in for the love for lollipop, i did try them too, but there are quite a few bugs.
So, Just wanted to ask, what everyone of you prefers,
A stable CM11 or a buggy but newer CM12.

I am too using that build, and i second ur opinion, CM12 does give a fresh look to the device.
stable cm12 will come soon
I bought this ZR a year or so ago and the phone has been on non-stock ROM's ever since day 1 inc a unlocked boot-loader since the same time. I've tried every ROM posted in the ZR section from the Xperienz onwards inc the CM11..
The CM11 nightlies were also "unstable" depending on the nightly chosen and I often had to flash back to a stable CM11 because of bugs in that particular CM11 nightly.
All the CM builds are constantly evolving and it's kind of the charm about flashing a new CM11 or 12 because we never quite know what we're going to get.
I used to be involved in the Nokia scene, modding etc, for the last few years and i like messing around, trying new things on the phone and im currently on the CM12 02-02-2015 Validus port (have been since it was ported by uncomment because it is stable with good features) and there are some amazing work being done by xenius9, Deadroza, uncomment and others giving us ZR users a choice..
The nice thing about CM12 is the interface but the development within CM12 is awesome and I for one would take a dirty, "unstable" CM12 anytime over a stable anything, inc stock ROM..
Hi
I have the same feeling about new LP ROMs...
We have only some ported LP ROMs with bugs. And the KK ROM are all discontinued.
I tried a LP ROM (don't remember which one) and finally I'm back to KK. The design of LP is very refreshing and it's a great sensation when your ZR seems to have reborn.
There is some problems that bother me like :
- The notification LED don't works in silent mode. On Z, the LED still work when we disable the vibrator.
- The data switch is crappy. We have to press a least 3 times to activate or desactivate the data instead of just 1 time on quick settings of KK. It's the same problem for localisation switch. On KK we can choose the localisation mode quickly by pressing the same button again.
- The bluetooth audio. It works great but after some connections the sound is not play in the peripheral. We have to restart the phone to have a fonctional bluetooth back.
Due to this little but boring things I'm on a MokeeKK ROM since the begin of febuary...
Do you know if some of this things are solved? I don't have the courage to try a LP ROM just to find out if there is some evolutions. And if there is some evolutions, which ROM did you advise me? CM12, CM12.1, Resurrection Remix?
Thanks in advance

If I ask people about this things it's because it's easy for LP users to check it and tell me if there is an evolution since january LP builds.
It's easy to check the problem of LED and tell me if there is and evolution concerning the switches of data and localisation.
I know that I can make a full backup of my KK ROM but I'm busy.
If somebody can help me, it will be nice.
