Hey, well we can get some pre-alpha 4.4 AOSP builds maybe, but these will definitely have bugs, i do believe adam has built a 4.4. omni rom but i don't know much about bugs/boot status etc.
We are still waiting for cyanogenmod to merge sources, however they have stated that they are in no rush to start dishing out 4.4 roms as they have only just sunken their teeth into 4.3 Roms, we will get them eventually, however any builds within the next few days will have little customization or lots of bugs, patience is all we have till then
I hope this answered your question, also, this needs to be in the Q&A section next time bro
Good evening.

Please understand that all the great things you've been hearing about android 4.4 wont apply to us for quite some time, what i mean by this is all the efficiency/ performance improvements will be somewhat mitigated buy bugs and firmware incompatibilities, these things take time for devs to work through, 4.3 still isnt mature enough on this device to call it stable.
I just don't want people to get overly excited by a 4.4 port, its improvements will come gradually.

4.4 sure is on its way for our device, BUT:
Google is removing more and more support for our device, as it already is pretty old. So we need to re-add everything.
Even if it's booting, we still need a lot of work in order to get the most important stuff working (like SurfaceFinger, Audio, and ofc also data/RIL)
So regarding 4.4, all I can say is: Have patience
BTW, Thread moved to Q&A section

Yes they are functionally stable to a user, but to call a rom stable (at least by Cyanogenmods standards) requires more than that.

Doesn't use dirty patch code to fix issues in source, usually done to get a release out quicker, between release candidates to stable this code is refined.

Sometimes it's still necessary to do. This is the case with our EGL libs for example. The best would be getting an update from LG, but this is very unlikely to happen. I got 4.3 BSP partially working, updated all graphics-related libs to 4.3 from grouper, but it broke a few things. Porting the full BSP might not be even possible.
Regarding Omni 4.4, I gradually found probably all needed patches for it, will see when I get to computer.

Sorry to ask for this, I know I should install and test for myself the rom,
But I just would like to know how is the battery life on this rom?
What about the power button? Does it work properly? Because I had this issue on android 4.3 based rom's.
And the camera? Clear images and sharper?
Thanks in advance!
Best Regards from Brazil
By the way, in my opinion android 4.2.2 is the most stable atm

Build that we currently have ported by Demetris is 4.2.2 and for me it is the best custom rom out there.Camera and battery are great even with stock app and stock kernel.Alwayse switching between MIUI and LiquidSmooth.Flash it and test is for couple of days yourself and see if you are satisfied.

It's even easier for YOU to test it yourself. Backup your current setup and flash it. Most of the mentioned bugs aren't even for everybody and it is actually quite hard for the devs to make a full list of bugs which occur for every single user.
If you don't agree with that it's your fault. The devs are doing an awesome job here and they do it because they want to.

In my honest opinion, bugs should be on the OP if they are known bugs. It's a matter of structure and information. But that's just me
From what I understood, carbon is a "fork" from Liquid and I think it's a compilation from source and not a port, right? If so, is it possible to compile Liquid from source as well ?
This question is for someone who knows or a developer

They stated that Carbon rom doesnt have anything to do with liquid team. Also if you look at title on older liquid builds by demetris you will see it says "Official" so i think it is possible to compile from source.Asked demetris long time ago about liquid future for our phone but still no answer.

No, they stated the following:
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. The team is composed of former members of Team Liquid who have forked the code in an attempt to bring greater speed, better coding, and full authorship to code. We are in no way affiliated with Liquid0624. The rom was forked at Liquid beta 3.2.1 and has since undergone major code changes and modifications.

They "forked" the code, although it was changed a LOT, a fork is a fork
Anyway, I'm gonna have a look later on see if Liquid can be compiled for our p880.

No,THANK you man Someone sayed that all 4.2 builds are much better then 4.3 roms builds and i agree on that.
Far as I understood the source is published.
Will see what I can do during the weekend

And yeah, I agree, I'm pretty happy with CM10. 1.3. Although I do miss the privacy features from 4.3.
Mods can lock and delete this since demerits answered our prayers and ported new version.

i think that it's better to "finish" CM11 with lasts sources ... because CM12 is still alpha/experimental ( the first tests are too unstable ,that's why CM team take decision to don't begin to develop roms themselves at this time for their supported devises => wise and intelligent choice )
If IMER begin to work with Lollipop ,we never have the end of stable/finished CM11 ...
On my S4-mini ,there are a CM12 port who work fine for a beggining...but big and "unpredictables" buggs ,still miss stability , rom not optimised too ( the dev have nothing to do ...just the "sources" )
Bt with this first "great" tests ,in a month ,when CM will decide to release CM12 roms for theirs devises ,i really think that we have enought good sources for stability and daily use , because Lollipop work very fine with some CM11 sources now ( need some big fixes and optimisations )! :good:

Welcome to the official thread for the Lollipop roms for our Optimus 2x
As to start, this thread is exclusively for the developers who are interessted/working on on the Lollipop ports for our Optimus 2x
We had alredy some build like the OmniRom , CM12 and even ParanoidAndroid.
This thread is exclusively for discussions for the developers and for the testers to test the new made roms so I will update the links as the roms get made. So I am only posting here the links of the latest version, to get the versions from the past you wil need to browse throught this thread
Update 05/6/2016
Gucky did it again! New build for CyanogenMod 12.1 is up, and now with fixed camera! When I get the full list of working features and bugs, I will upload it here. Thank you Gucky for your massive help and contribution to this community. This device is very old after all, and you still find the time to tinker on it. No words really. Respect!
CM12.1 : https://sourceforge.net/projects/lg...cm-12.1-20160531-UNOFFICIAL-p990.zip/download
WARNING the Rom is still not stable, but we are close!
ParanoidAndroid: https://s.basketbuild.com/devs/Puri/p990/AOSPA(lollipop)
Take in mind that all these roms are unstable besides the CM12 rom,but it still has some major bugs which we as a group will fix.
As in all of this, stay tuned for updates

Hello everyone. As you might know me from some threads where i comment some stuff.Anyways, since Lollipop was announced i was obssesed with it and my wish was that i would be the first one to make the version availble for our device.
Well i kinda did it....KINDA of course but we need some help if we wanna make it work.I call ALL of the developers for our device to work together to make it work.We are so close to get it fully booting.I made it boot to the animation and now where the help comes in use.We need some developers who can enable ADB on our device in the bootanimation.TO be honest i dont really know anything about sources and that stuff but i know some things. With the help of @tonyp and @timduru which I am the most thankfull of that gave me hope to make this.So here we go!
WARNING!!!
ONLY FOR DEVELOPERS
No one should download and flash this rom because you will get stuck in the bootanimation and will need to install previouse rom again and install everything over...blah blah blah.
Also the link to the rom is here ----> https://www.dropbox.com/s/fwhg08ux7qhtgsh/5.0 test.zip?dl=0

Well, it might be that he used KatKiss from timduru for the TF101 which has a Tegra 2, but still our phone uses the Tegra 2 AP20H, while the TF101 uses Tegra 2 T20. Small difference in the chipset, but still a difference. Easiest would be to port from the Galaxy R or Captivate Glide, but they too struggle with Lollipop over in their forum. Anyway, TheMysteryouse used timduru's AOSP rom, so maybe it would be easier building the whole thing from the demo CM12 sources available.

Nope, this rom has NOTHING to do with the tegra 3 rom.I used the rom for TF101 tablet which is tegra 2 but had a cmall chipset difference. So yeah I am still trying to do some things like searching the framework sources from tony to see if he has a code in the build.prop which directly enables ADB from the boot, but cant really find it.Anyways try your best and so the others.Cheers

Awesome news buddy! Lollipop on first power dual core android device! Switch to 1+ One as a primary phone for some reason but I will continue to follow and supporto you!
That is great!!! ))))))))
Ok. I have to go one step back. The rom is not ready for the testers and I'm too tired to test more. For those, who want to repeat my steps or want to finish...
I replaced the files in Mystery's rom with my own Kitkat ones. The first half, than the second. Now I could get it to finish the booting process. This steps I went on and on. So I could reduce the problem to the framework-files in "system". If you replace all of them, it boots up with some error messages.
I think we have to reduce the 40 files inside more and more to find the reason for the bootloop.
All the best to you,my friends!
Damm this is great a device from 2010 receives android L. 4years later. If I can borrow the old optimus 2x from my father then I could also look into the problems if it's not booting yet then. Till then continue your work.
I have had a DT since launch and I have had a custom ROM on for quite a while and upon using Android N (through crDroid) I found an extreme amount of forced reboots, I was wondering what causes them as I would love to join the ranks of the 1%ers who use android N across all platforms.
Obviously saying "it doesn't work please fix" is not going to get me anywhere so ill throw my pride out the window and accept any and all assistance if yall would be so kind.

Just to give you an update, I just removed AOKP because whenever I try to make a call through a Bluetooth device (like my car's hands free system), it completely messes up the phone and eventually force reboots. These roms are based on early versions of CM14.1 (we don't even have official CM14.1 builds yet) so some bugs are to be expected, but they're all being updated very regularly so I expect that they will be virtually bug free in a no time. Just keep trying them until you find one that works for you.

RR 7.x was just released yesterday. People are saying it's quite stable.

This ROM is awesome. Using latest GApps and no reboots no issues. Smooth sailing. I believe much better than crDroid. The RR team is amazing and thanks to @bhb27 for working hard.

So far is running good. Not a fan of pixel launcher though, also i think the network icons in crdroid are more functional because they have built in traffic arrows.
Glad to have proximity speakerphone back.

Also @calsurferpunk just re-synced his "unofficial" CM14 to RR's builds to hope to get that stability. Previously he was uing crDroids database (or whatever). His unofficial CM14 builds are a hybrid of more bare bones CM and everything-including-the-kitchen sink tweaks of custom ROMs. His builds have the more popular tweaks, like being able to download Moto apps and a couple more, but are not change-everything ROMs.

I just posted an updated build. I'm using repos from RR instead of crDroid (still configured to be stock CM 14.1) and the "stock" kernel from 2bhb27. Hopefully this fixes the instability issues. You should go over and thank him as well for all of his hard work

I really appreciate your assistance with this mate. I remember back when we had mofo and your only option was basically build an image yourself or take whatever one guy was developing. I'm really thankful we have evolved no thanks to the developers like chainfire and all the wonderful people who still care for our 3900mah mini Nexus 6... Or at least close enough
Edit: I will try out CM14.1 Unofficial for a day and see how that goes. I really want to stay away from "kitchen sink" roms because of the restarts. Thanks again for your help
Hello everyone, I'm sort of a newbie in ROM building, and decided to compile ParanoidAndroid nougat for hammerhead. I followed the instructions from - https://github.com/AOSPA/manifest
Once I run ./rom-build.sh hammerhead, it runs for about 15 seconds before giving me the error in the screenshot attached.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Wow I just realised those guys are still dead. They release a new version every 2 major Android releases. ? Even amateurs Devs (compared to them) release ROMs far more often. A bunch of ?s.

They're working daily on that. you're free to compile and if you're smart enough you can successfully compile it :silly:

You'll need some knowledge to compile it. You need to import some features from bullhead or angler and adapt it.. It's kinda hard especially if you're starting. I advice you to start building AOSP first and learn from that.

Yo you are so ungrateful, show some respect! The only clown is you.
You clearly know nothing about what you are talking about. The Dev's behind AOSPA want to bring a quality ROM, they don't want to rush thing to take a step back in the Custom ROM scene and bring a buggy ROM, so instead they take their time to come up with something nice and good (probably). How fast a Dev can bring up a ROM and update it tells nothing about the quality of the ROM. AOSPA was awesome back in the JellyBean and KitKat days, I'm sure their Dev team is working hard to get back on that level. Instead of whining about them being slow with releasing, you could give them some help or just give it some time and be patience to see with what they are coming up with.

It was my primary ROM for YEARS. There are other ROMs that cannot achieve their quality and yet I haven't encountered any bugs at all on those ROMs. How come?

Fair question, maybe it's because those ROM's you talk about made a decision between bringing quality or fixing bugs fast. PA probably goes for bringing a quality ROM instead of rushing on things to fix bugs and bring a "half work" ROM. Who knows? I guess we will see eventually
