[Q] Persistant VVM Update - Sprint HTC One (M8)

For the past few days, I have been getting prompted to update my Sprint Visual Voicemail App. Anytime I attempt to update, as prompted, I get a general failure. I'll dismiss the error, but the prompt remains persistant. Totally annoying! Anyone else getting this?

Reminds me of the nexus 5 on sprint. Hold down the notification and goto app info then force close.

[Q] Ignoring OTA Updates?

Sorry if this question is bad... I tried some serching but didn't see an obvious answer.
I have rooted, but not S-OFF'd my phone, and have no real desire to S-OFF, but I want to keep the OLD version of the "System Update."
I keep getting the Software Update: 1.29.651.10 notification.
Is there a way to turn this off? I am very happy with the ViperROM I have currently installed (1.0.4), but this damn notifiation won't stop showing up.
Is there an easy way to get this to stop coming up?
Or am I going to have to deal with it until I RUU to Stock it and then update to the newest viperROM?
Thanks.
It shows up every time I restart my phone, but I've just been long-pressing the notification in the drop-down menu, selecting "App info," then selecting "Force stop" so I at least don't have to see it constantly for the next few days before I restart again.

I would just do the update. I have used the latest (1.1.0), and it is just as good as 1.0.4.

You are going to have to edit your build prop to make it go away, you can download a editor from the market. Not sure exactly what you will need to change but there should be some threads about it. Just be careful when your editing & make a backup. I haven't had to do it for a long time, and when I did it was on a samsung phone for a friend. I believe you just change the software build # to match the newest version.

Visual Voicemail not updating or working right.

I keep getting a notification to update Visual Voicemail, but when I try to update it, it either gives an error or says there is no update available. I'm using the Stock With Goodies rom (4.3), but this was happening with regular stock, too. The notification to update keeps coming back. I'm also not getting all of my voicemails.
Any ideas besides using an alternate voicemail app? I want to use the Sprint voicemail app.

I literally had to click the update option 5+ times before it started downloading,
and then it installed itself.
I got a couple of times where it told me to update, and then said there was no update, but I kept doing it
and never left the screen after it said "download failed" or whatever.
It's working fine for me now.

Moto display/hangouts thread issue

Whenever I open a message In hangouts directly from the moto display screen, it automatically goes to the top of the thread rather than the bottom where the new message is.
This does not happen when opening hangouts from the Android lockscreen or when the phone is unlocked, so I'm assuming it's a moto display issue. Anyone else have this?

I have this happen but not all the time. It also happens sometimes on my nexus 4 and 7, so I think it is a Google bug that came with the new material design version of hangouts.

It happens every time for me. It's annoying, but if you got to read the message when you were on moto display and know what your reply is going to be you can just type it in and hit enter and it jumps to the bottom of the thread. Definitely annoying though.

How to fix the incoming call bug?

Guys,
Cant answer any incoming call, no screen to answer show up.
Anyway fix this bug?
Lollipop 5.01
Nexus 6. Stock, this phone is not rooted.
This phone came directly from Motorola and they were sent directly from China I believe.
So these ones are not from any T-Mobile, att or any other carrier local store. I believe that sprint have this issue.

Problem solved, as last resource I had to do a factory reset. It fixed the problem.

The heads up notification is in the SDK and has to be disabled/enabled by the developer (in this case Google for the Phone app). There is currently no option to turn the heads up notifications on/off anywhere in settings or the Phone settings. You could try a factory reset on the phone, and see if that fixes it.
If you are rooted, I would not factory reset. I would get the phone app from XDA, remove it from the phone, and install it as a system app and see if that fixes it.
Otherwise, the only possible way I know of is through a custom ROM (you would need to be rooted). I know for a fact that Pure ROM has a setting to turn heads up notifications on/off, don't know if any others have the option.
I'm on Sprint, so I had to do the "Settings - > More - > Cellular Networks - > Preferred Network Type " and switch to 3G. It's a pain, but this is the only fix that works for me / until Sprint fixes the network CFSB issue.

This issue of incoming call screen not opening just started a few days ago for me. I've tried every possible fix I can think of, even doing a factory reset as a last resort, but the problem persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Delayed notifications after upgrade to Android 8

I have a tmobile note 8 and ever since I upgraded to Android 8, push notifications are coming in delayed and all at once at random times. Take outlook for example, an hour might go by and then all of a sudden dozens of notifications hit all at once. I checked if maybe battery settings were messing with outlook but it is not blocked and my phone is in performance mode. Seems like my phone is going into a deep sleep and not doing push notifications as they come in. Any idea what is happening?
Same thing happened to mind after update. But seems to be resolved now. I think I went into Apps then pressed the three dots in the up right corner and chose reset app preferences. I also messed about in the notification menu somewhat prior to that.

Factory reset. A good practice after a major software update.

Disable the GOOGLE app in app manager. It should ask you if you want to go back to the factory app. Just agree to this. This is assuming you checked to make sure Battery Manager wasn't turning off your app or the data saver wasn't killing your app data access. If you have done these things and your app notification is still delayed it is being caused by the GOOGLE app. Listed as "Google" in app manager. Hope this helps someone else.
UPDATE: I should have mentioned for a permanent solution and to allow you to continue using the GOOGLE app you can go to the Google Play Store, find the installed GOOGLE app, click uninstall to revert to the factory GOOGLE app, once uninstalled click the three dots at the top right and Uncheck the Auto Updates to the GOOGLE app. This will allow you to retain the factory app functions and should resolve this notification issue at the same time.
