When emails come to the stock s5 email inbox I can only see partial amounts of the email on the notification card. Also, if more than one email comes I cannot expand any of the cards on the watch I just see who sent an email. There is no way to reply either..I can only open on the phone which makes the watch pointless.
I there a way to see the full text of the email like the Gear 2 running Tizen??
I can only use the S5 stock email because I have work email through airwatch exchange.
Not with the stock email app. Not that I've found anyway

The best solution here is to use Gmail for everything.
1) It now handles Yahoo and Outlook/Hotmail accounts.
2) It is an excellent powerful email client.
3) Android Wear LOVES Gmail. You can view entire mails and respond to them via voice.

Android Wear is about to get a major upgrade which should help with some of these things, but remember, an apps integration with Android Wear is what determines its functionality, not the watch.

I believe you can add your gmail account to the stock email app so gmail will show up on the watch but do incoming gmail have the push feature in the stock app?
Thanks

What is the name of the stock email app, trying to get step by step instructions to this.
The stock app auto-configures Gmail as "push." I'm guessing it's IMAP behind the scenes and it only applies to e-mail, not tasks or the calendar.
Try this, it is working for me for Hotmail.com and Gmail.com accounts.
1- Went to Stock email app(looks like a white envelope with @ symbol in middle.
2- Created hotmail.com account(dont go through manual process of setting account) and selected "push" for sending emails to Note/Gear. Put your email address and password, follow the steps and you are done.
3- Create gmail.com account and do the same as step #2.
4- Go in your Note to Settings-General-Accounts. Select the Google account and hit enter, Uncheck box by Sync Gmail.
This is how I have it set up and Hotmail as well as gmail emails are coming into the Note and Gear.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I am getting proper notifications for Gmail account by pushing the mails to the stock Email app also.
It's working very nicely.
If you set up Gmail in the stock email app, can you still use the Gmail app to read and rely on the phone?
I like the Gmail app as it is seamless between phone and laptop in terms of marking as read, sorting into folders etc.

Yes you can still use the gmail app on the phone just fine.
my email notification is not working as well. tried wit imap and pop but it's not showing
guys anyone here with a working email notification?
You need to enable the pop3 support in the Gmail settings page first before adding the Gmail account to the stock Email app.

Can't get this working either, no notifications from stock email app with my 2 gmail accounts. Notifications are set for stock email and accounts seem to be pulling mail down so not sure why my gear isn't telling me I have mail

You need to use stock email app and when you get to a screen about server, there is a drp down option and select push. You need to also go in your ear app and in setting, there is a section for choosing which apps to send to Gear. Select stock email app, send yourself a test email and should work.
Ian B
That's exactly what I did, no notifications though

See post above me. Make sure you DO NOT choose MANUAL in the stock email app when setting the gmail account choose the option to the right of that for the system to do it all for you. In the next page I believe is where the drop down option at the top is to select PUSH.
If you like, send me a pm with your phone number and I can call you when you want. I think that will be easier than trying to go back and forth with emails.

Yes, in the PC browser, go to your Gmail page and then to Settings.
There you will see tab menus on the top. Choose Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
Then, you will see the option to enable POP.
After that, you can just add an account in the stock email app to deliver Gmails with the option of "push" delivery automatically.

Weird as I did not have to touch my MAC to get the emails from Gmail to work with my Gear. All I did was set up the account in the stock email app, select the auto set up, select PUSH in the next setting screen and voila, emails coming to the Gear. I did have to go into the Gear app setting and check the email app to send notifications to the Gear.
All is well in my world and hope we can help one another get their emails and texts going.
Want to remind everyone that only the stock text and email apps are allowed to send info to the gear. If you are using something else, you may get the notification but, nothing else. You will then have to go into the phone to view the text or email.

Hy
I've had the same issue, no notification at all, i've tried everything, but now solved it.
Everytime i've sent e "test-mail", my phone (galaxy note 2) was not in sleeping mode. As i gave up trying, suddenly my Gear was pushing a new mail that came in.
So for me, it only works when the phone is not awake (what makes sense in my opinion). Hope that helps someone others problem too.
Good luck.

That makes sense to me. I don't want the notifications to clog up my watch if I am already looking at the phone.
That only wastes the battery life of the watch. Smart!
How do I get gmail and hangouts to notify me in real time on the watch?
All you get with those apps is an alert that you have a notification. You have to go to the phone to read it. Are you not getting any alerts at all?

When you go to either text or email alert in the gear with samsung apps, you can view the entire email or text, brilliant.

Gmail works under the following conditions. .
1) you must have pop3 enabled in your Google account (not your phone in your actual Google account )
2] you use the stock email app (not the Gmail app)
3) install your Gmail as pop3 using push option.
You also need to make sure notifications are turned on for your phone and within the gear app.

Use the gmail app and turn on gmail notifications in gear manager since they're off by default. Works for me.
So if I have microsoft exchange programmed to my phones default email address app. Will I be able to get notifications on the watch and read contents?

Recent convert from iPhone (used iPhone 4s, iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 (month). I am loving the Note 4. Having used iOS for a long time, I am used to the iPhone email client, where you can have 5-6 accounts (yahoo mail, gmail, outlook) and it lists the account in the left pane and right pane is for reading respective email.
I have tried searching for similar client in Play store (downloaded quite a few and tried) but couldn't fine one that is closer to iOS email client. The stock email client on Note 4 has combined view (hate it) OR I have to select account from the dropdown box and click on inbox to refresh and read the mails.
Any pointers where I can have a clean/easy interface to have 6 accounts set up and read (very similar to iOS 8 email client).
Thanks!!
Gmail update should allow multiple accounts from other providers
The new GMail (5.0) app allows for multiple exchange accounts.
You can either wait for it to be rolled out to you, or download it from here like I did (and have had no problems at all) - http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/11/03/google-officially-introduces-gmail-5-0-can-get-apk-download/
Check Out Profimail Go. Does that in landscape and so much more
I thought that's what the Mail app is for? There should be GMail app and Mail app in the app folder by default, and the Mail app can be used to set up multiple POP and SMTP emails I believe.
Try cloudmagic

I highly recommend trying MailWise. A beautifully looking client that doesn't have any server side shenanigans like CloudMagic.

Do you refer to the "unified inbox" function list all your email in one inbox? Try bluemail. I am using it now to manage 5 email accounts.
THIS. MailWise it is. Very clean interface. Tried 10-12 email clients that have been mentioned in this post and some but MailWise suits my taste. Very clean and probably better than the iOS client.
Thank You!!

Using the stock email app with your note is the best way to go.
It's feature rich with the spen and more.
Why even buy a note if you're not going to take advantage of it.
Bluemail is fantastic. It may even be better than the iOS mail app and I love the way it works on tablets.
One of the reasons I recently went with the 6+ was that I feel the software is superior to Android, but Bluemail has now got me thinking about switching back.
Now if they could just fix the QHD scaling in Chrome...
GMAIL can now handle send and receive for both your YAHOO and OUTLOOK accounts. Why does this matter?
Well because Android Wear REALLY REALLY likes Gmail and REALLY REALLY hates Yahoo and Outlook. The benefits of using Gmail:
1) You will receive individual notifications for every email received.
2) You can USE voice to respond to each email from the watch.
I highly recommend making the switch and having Gmail handle everything. If you still want to maintain other email clients on your phone simply block them from notifications in your Android Wear app. This is now a much cleaner email solution.
Oh yes.. My wife uses hotmail and her Outlook app screws up most of the time, unable to download mails. I uninstalled it and added her account in the new Gmail. Very neat indeed.

Cool. Yes, super handy for syncing with Android Wear watches.
Hi all,
I suspect that there are all manner of threads on this very topic given the difficulties that each company (Google and Microsoft) seem to have imposed with regards to syncing between the two, however, I find I get a more directed response if you ask in the specific phone type, so here it goes:
I have a hotmail account. I have had for years and it's my main email account and that which I use for work. Outlook has also a feature that picks up potential scheduled events from your emails and drops them into your calendar for you which I find useful. I also have a gmail account because, well you know, I love Android phones. However, having purchased a Oneplus 3t and coming over from an Xperia Z5 I am having some unexpected difficulty in syncing all my events and calendar schedules into one calendar view. I am using the Google calendar widget and would like a way of syncing my outlook events into this calendar. Is there any way of doing this?
I used aCalendar+ with the Z5 BUT there was the option to add Exchange accounts via the stock email app on that phone which I assume was the catalyst for allowing me to sync everything together in aCalendar+. This isn't an option on the OP3t.
Therefore is there a work around or an app that can do it for me? I am happy to use a decent third party calendar app providing it allows for a decent widget view option but would prefer to use google calendar view instead if possible.
PLEASE HELP. I thought this would be such an easy thing to achieve.
Had the same problem. Tried a few apps and by far the best one was Nine.

I agree that Nine is by far the best all-in-one email, calendar and contacts app, but it doe not support free Gmail accounts, only paid Google apps for Business accounts.

But what it does do is allow you to add a 'proper' Exchange account to your device which means the Google calendar app can be kept up to date. I then use the Gmail app for my three email accounts thus getting exactly what I need from the app itself. It's almost an app simply for syncing accounts more than anything else.
I have no issues with exchange showing up in Google calendar. Perhaps the truck is to add your exchange account in your Gmail app. You could still use another mail app to use exchange if you prefer (turn off all Gmail notifications for your exchange). I have gotten accustomed to using Gmail app for all my email accounts. I am on office 365. I know some older exchange servers don't get along with Google, my wife is on a 2003 exchange (for some reason beyond me). Nine is the only email app that works for her. Gmail will start out working but eventually stops syncing.
