Hi, Since i see no news about when the Nexus 6 will be released to the public sale, I need to get a phone since a relative is traveling between november 28 and december 6, so this would be my choice, I was wondering if this phone uses stock android, and if it's going to receive fast updates like Moto X, Moto G? I would appreciate your information, thanks!

Probably will, because Moto X and this phone are really similar phones, so don't worry about it.

Thanks for your comment! but this is more like an assumption right? I would not like to buy a phone that will end it up being like a Samsung where updates are not coming after some time :S

Motorola has the Droid Turbo on their list of phones to be updated to Lollipop but there is no ETA yet on when they will happen. Rumor has it that it will be sometime in December but that depends on Motorola/Verizon.
Does anyone know if Motorola will replace via OEM warranty the cracking around the USB port and the front camera thing sliding down? My Verizon Developer Edition I bought coming up a year ago has both these issues, didn't know if it was worth trying to get a warranty before I'm out. Anyone had experience for either issue?
Thanks!

I believe they will, but aren't they offering 2014 models as the warranty replacements on the 2013's now? And if that is the case, there isn't a Dev Edition for Verizon anymore (so no unlockable bootloader).
EDIT: Never mind. it wasn't moto, it was Asurion (Verizon's insurance thing)... http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/asurion-replacing-1st-gen-moto-x-2014-t2912883

The 2014 pure edition is looked upon as a developer edition. My 2013 X custom had the camera issue like yours. I was told that due to availability issues with materials, I was given a custom 2014 X. Not sure how yours would be handled.

2014 Pure Edition is not on Verizon networks.
No, it is not.
Ahh. Thanks everyone. Sounds like I don't have any options unless I want a non-developer edition of the 2014 Moto X on Verizon.
Thanks!

No, I think Moto still has 2013 DE to give out... I know in a thread last week on the Motorola forums someone said they requested a warranty replacement because the 2014 Sept batch had an error that won't allow it to be unlocked with the bootloader unlock page and they sent him another 2013 XT1060 DE.
The above comment that they were being replaced with 2014 versions seems to be based on the insurance, not on the OEM warranty. I would try it, just make sure you bring up the issue ahead of time that you require an unlock able phone and that any replacement must be unlock able.
I actually got my Accidental Warranty replacements a few weeks back. Sent me a brand new DE in the sealed retail box. I'm going to hold out until they run out and try again for the 2nd Gen next time.

Try what again? Purposely damage the device and try to get a 2014 X?
Nice. ?
On purpose? I'm not like you. If it breaks, I'll just keep it till the 2 year coverage is about over before replacing it again.

Lol me? Well, my bad then... Cause that's what it sounded like you meant. ?
I just got a BNIB DE 2013 to replace my 2 week old, DE that I smashed the screen on under motocare. I wasn't sure what I would get, but I received another DE. YMMV while supplies last.

I was set up for a 2014 to replace my 2013 custom, but warrenty was void due to requesting bootloader unlock rather than paying 100 bucks I took a dev ed as a replacement
They treated you very nicely. They could have said, "screw, you unlocked the boot loader", but didn't.
I'm impressed with Moto. I hope they never change.
Has anyone tried rooting a Verizon Moto X 2014 with the program kingo root? I plugged my phone up today and it looked like it was capable but it is my only phone and I don't want to mess it up. Any thoughts?

I'd think if it worked we would have heard about it by now. The Moto X is not on the list of supported devices. Though reading up on it, the website says if it doesn't work on your device it won't cause any issues, just reboot and carry on. You could take one for the team and give it a shot...
Yeah, not working. Worth a try though.
Does this over and over again and then fails....
Maybe it could work on KitKat?
damn this is the longest i've had a phone without root! prolly gonna have to sell this thing and get the m9 when it comes out! bad enough no bootloader unlock, but damn even no root thats gay
I haven't paid much attention to the Moto X scene since I got my Nexus 6. What is the current ETA from Moto on the X getting Lollipop?

I have the feeling my battery is getting weak so I decide to change it. The replacement should not be so difficult.
1) Is the battery of the Moto G 2nd gen exactly the same like the one of the Moto G 1st gen? I did a quick search for it on ebay /amazon and there are only batteries for the Moto G (XT1032) as I could see on first sight.
2) Has someone changed the battery and has some tipps for me? Or has seen a good tutorial?

No, the batteries on the Moto G and Moto G 2014 are different.
Here's a teardown of our phone:

Looks a bit more difficult as I thought. But first of all I'll have to find that kind of battery. Thx bro.

Thx Tel but I´m a bit confused now. This factoryoutletstore sells the model ED30 as the fitting battery for the XT1068 .
@Ragarianok wrote that it´s not the same battery like the one used in the Moto G 1st gen. But for example in this german shops exactly the same model ED30 is sold for the XT1032, even the other code SNN5932A is the same:
akku500.de
amazon.de
Ebay
So the ED30 is built in 1st gen and 2nd Gen Moto G´s? I don´t wanna buy the wrong item...
edit: In this YT vid of a Moto G 2nd gen battery replacement it´s called ED30 too but the other code seems not to be SNN5932A, if I read it correctly it´s SNN5954A: https://youtu.be/UmKg2DcfPfk?t=120
You're right, I'm curious to see what they'd say if called on the phone.

I think I will ask Motorola, they should know what they put in their phones. Technical support, not these funny guys on the hotline...
