[PATCH] Camera patch for grouper blobs

Alright, as promised, the camera patch for all ROMs using the grouper blobs.
First of all, a very big thanks to @Adam77Root, cause without him, none of this would have been possible.
This patch allows the camera to use the old nvomx, which fixes the encoder issues. However, this breaks the hardware decoder of the stock gallery. And using software decoder, lags are inevitable. But, you can still play HD videos using MX player.
To revert this, either restore a system backup, re-flash your ROM or flash the "Cam_revert_patch.zip" from the Attachment.
@ROM devs, please don't include this patch into your ROMs, but rather link to this thread. Not being able to use the read hw decoder can cause confusion and false bug reports, which is why I want people to read this first, before using the patch

Can anyone test Skype videocall? Because for me it doesn't work, it gives me the same error as without the patch (green screen instead of the video). I can record videos though.
Also it works with the new omni buils (the ones reverted to old blobs) and all other official roms that use old blobs.

qr decoding/skype still doesn't work - this is just a fix for video recording

I would really like a revert patch, because I would like to install the patch when I want to take a video and simply uninstall it when I want to use the gallery.

I also add that this patch breaks Youtube app

Confirmed, output when playing a video is only black screen

Of course, it breaks almost all video decoding stuff, especially YT. This is why don't want devs to include it into ROMs.
MX player is more-less the only exception

in addition the recorded Videos are really "not good". The framerate is not stable. One video I recorded has 13 fps, the next 22 fps. Stable 25fps seems not possible.
So I would really appreciate a revert patch, dont want to flash all the rom again

you were watching this videos on gallery app ?? or mx player with s/w decoding chosen? or on your pc?
i didnt faced such problem.. only when u watch video you recorded on gallery it OFC will lag...

I watched the videos on my pc, I read the framerate out with standard windows and also with adobe premiere pro cs5.

What's your recorded resolution?
About the revert patch, I'm on it

I recorded in 1080p H.264 with LED on and USB connected. Video was saved on internal storage.

this one which ended up with 13 fps is 11.5 mbits and this one which has 22 fps is 10.3 mbits.

Will do some troubleshooting tomorrow, gonna let you know if I find anything

Alright, as already mentioned HERE, we have a new way to switch between video playing and recording, a more "on the go" version
For details and how to use it, please take a look into the linked post
Now, some more explanation, the new patch "nameless_patchV2" is not only for nameless, but all ROMs built using p880-dev's android-4.4 branch, such as NamelessROM, Omni, Thinkingbridge, ...
Just flash the patch and you can switch blobs as explained.
The patch for CM11 (the cm-11.0 branch) is in the making

[Q] Possible to get only Timeshift / 120FPS video recording? No 4k?

Is there any way I can get just the 120fps video recording bit?
None of my devices, both mobile, and TVs are 4k, and I have no need for it, however almost all my devices are a minimum of 120fps.
Wondering if it's possible to just get that?
I'm on 4.4.4 157, rooted, not deodexed but with a guide I could be.

yeah sure with a workaround, install the file with timeshift and 4k and then, delete the 4k apk in system/app

How do I get 120fps on this phone?

Hi. gsmarena and wikipedia state this phone is capable of 1080p at 30 and 60 fps and also 720p at 120fps. Is it an error? I can't find it in the video settings. I'm on MM 6.0.

Yeah it's not there in Marshmallow, I've tried open camera but it says 120fps is not supported.

120 fps Video is now handled within a Camera App called Timeshift Video.
To access it swipe right in your camera window, if not installed add the camera app from Google play store.

Oh okay, thanks. I never used that time shift app it's there in the phone pre-installed. I'll give it a try.

4k playback

Hi guys. I've got today brand new Mi Mix. Since i have Youtube apk i've tried to "test" screen by opening random 4K video on Youtube apk but the max qualty is 1080p?
Is that normal or i should change some settings or acctualy whole ROM?

I was able to play 2k and 4k youtube vedeos. I was trying to upload a video the file is too large.

how did you manage to do that? what kind of ROM do you have?
Also, at the bottom, does both of speakers work or only one, the one on the right side?

There's only one speaker the other one is the mic.
Just use the YouTube app and on the settings select the video quality 2k, 4k etc.

It wont work cause the screen is only full hd.. you wont be able to select higher res.....

I was able to play a 4k sample video and on chrome and dolphin browser I was able to select 4k/2k as well, whether or not is 4k it's questionable but it is selectable.

Okay, from the native youtube app you would not be able to..,as for the browsers yeah that could work

4k video sample works too.

1080p 60fps video recording

I was looking around in my camera settings on my Nokia 8 but couldn't find a 1080p 60fps option which surprises me since 4k 60 is available. I downloaded the Google camera port and tried it on there too but the video is zoomed in dramatically.
The spec sheet on GSMarena doesnt say 1080 60 either.
Is this a bug or does Nokia not want this phone to have 1080p 60fps? If there is a solution I'd really like to know!

You should try GCam but for this you should download this APK:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V8.2.apk
-Install APK File
-Open the app then go to video settings.
-Disable image stablizer and close the app.
-Open the app again and switch video recording.
-There should be box called 30 top of the screen, tap it.
-Select 60.
