[Q] Yellow zone on screen - Huawei Ascend P7

Hello,
I bought my P7 in September and since few week I have a yellow zone in the bottom of my LCD. It's visible when I am on a white area and it's very ugly. I think it's a hardware problem.
Someone else has got the same problem?
Thanks

On my p6 i had a blue zone on the left site in black areas. I had to replace the display.

I think it's a different problem for me, maybe associated with the backlight. I don't know if it's "normal" or if I am unlucky :/

I think its the same...its a display failure. If its an Software Problem flash new and you will See.

Hardware
Somewhere is written it's the display-glue.
My phone has also a yellow shade at the bottom of the display.
Just google it...

Up

I am the only one with this problem?

obviously
Maybe some more people have the same issue, but thy now how to use googoogle......

Aegliyen: Yes, I have this problem too. And this problem reports more users.
Unfortunately, Huawei says: that it's okay
I think that's a manufacturing defect.

I have the same problem. It is noticeable when I try to read in the dark. Is there any solution or do we have to live with it?
From what I read, if it is the glue then it might clear out after a few days of leaving the brightness on to full.
Sent from my HUAWEI P7-L10 using XDA Free mobile app

Me I can see the problem even I am not in the dark and my brightness is set on auto The yellow band take two cm of my screen... I found a solution on the Play Store but it's not perfect : Screen Equalizer. With this app you can add a blue band on the yellow to hide the problem but there are some problems with the navigation bar. It will be good if Huawei solve that with a software solution integrated in the ROM.
If it's a problem with the glue looking like the One Plus One maybe we can resolve it with some UV...

[Q] the display too yellow: whitebalance?

Hi guys,
I've got two diamonds: one has a bit too yellow display, the other is perfect. The yellow one perhaps might be improved with whitebalancing but cannot find such setting. Checked everywhere - of course the brightness in power settings does not solve the problem. Any idea how to do it?
Thanks in advance

Exchange it for another one if you can. There are some batches of Diamonds with a lower-quality lcd-screen where white isnt white but yellow'ish (so I've read).

I have had 2 diamonds, one was a dia100 (imported to Australia), perfect screen etc, the other a Diam130 Aussie phone that is "off white" on the screen with a distinct yellow glow/strip/cloud across the bottom of the screen, when placed side by side it is like 2 total different screens.
I can live with it but am thinking of return under warranty except I need to revert all back to factory spl/rom etc.
fadge
I have come to believe that ALOT of the diamonds have screen issues.
Either the yellowish tint or the yellow spotitng/clouding.
I have bought 2 so far and they have been both affected the by the yellow spotting.
I'm going to have to learn and live it, because I dont want to go through the warranty in the US - long process.
It's really shameful, and it really takes away from this phone.

[Q] htc one screen problem

hi i am in the uk.. on three network. i got my htc one on the 3rd of april, and 4 days later the screen started to flicker? not all the time? but browsing? esp facebook or anything page with white? i guess the white shows up the flicker more? like i say NOT all the time but soo annoying!! not what i expected from a high end phone? Now let me just say i love this phone.. but thought i cant have this.. so i fill out support form for htc and they reply quick advising me it should not do this and to get it changed. i contact three go through the whole call centre thing (like pulling teeth) anyways the upshot was.. three sent me another brand new phone the next day (yesterday) and took back my first one. And guess what? as soon as i switch the phone on, same screen flicker? i treated the first phone like a new born baby didnt drop or bash it 4 days=screen flicker. another new phone as soon as i use it = screen flicker!! i so love this phone but im so gutted!! any suggestions from ANYONE would help.
kind regards

This isn't helpful but you must just be unlucky to have had it happen twice because mine's been perfect and I've not seen anyone else on this forum mention that problem with theirs.
I guess you'll have to get a new one sent out again and hope for the best
Could you make a short video clip to illustrate your problem ?

hi.. to be honest i dont think a video would pick the problem up? you know i could just be being a kill joy? ive watched videos etc and there really isnt a problem with that at all.. in fact the quality of the picture is fab? if i could use an analogy? remember when the volume control on your stereo would get dust in it? and you would have to twiddle the knob to cure it? its a bit like that? like i say it does not do it all the time but i notice it with white in the screen? like facebook google and when i am navigating thru the screens on the phone like settings etc? the white flickers white/slightly darker white? hence my example? now ive changed my text messages colour scheme so that doesnt annoy me now with it.. but obviously as a electronics layman.. i cant help but think if it was a problem with the screen itself, other colours would do the same as they would if there was a loose connestion? and also if it was a power flow problem with the battery? same thing? not just the white on screen? so i can only conclude as a layman again.. that it is some sort of issue with the os? screen refresh rate maybe? i just dont know? and i cant help think stupidly or not that when htc finally get around to an os update to 4.2.2 (or whatever it is) from 4.1.2 the whole thing will be resolved?
Could it be the auto brightness doing its thing? Try turning it off maybe that might solve it.
I might be totally wrong, be great if that fixed it though. Good luck
well well well!!!! And there you have it!! or at least something like that? ive always used the multi widgit for wifi bluetooth brightness etc? so i have brightness preset on that. instead ive gone into display settings, adjusted brightness with slider? no more flicker!! NO MORE FLICKER!! who ever you are!! thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Was this happening when the stock power widget brightness was set to medium?
If so, I have the same flickering ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2243483 ), but I've found out that its not the power widgets fault per se, but the the the level that it sets it to. The widget set the brightness to 33%, and that the level which I'm getting flickering at, regardless of if it was set with the power widget or by the slider. The flickering happens on screen with a good amount of white. Google search result webpage is a good test case; it shows the flickering clearly at 33%. It also seems to depend on where the white is on the screen. For example, I can induce flickering at 40% brightness by moving a light colored icon from the bottom of the screen to the top! Moving it back to the bottom causes the flickering to go away. I can also do it by moving around or resizing the Gmail widget. Flickering happens for me to some extent at brightness values between 33 and 45 under certain screen conditions. Above or below these brightness values, the screen is top notch, no endless flickering at all regardless of how much white is on screen. I'm starting to think this has to do with the dynamic contrast feature of the One. It seems as though it falls in an endless loop of trying to change the contrast, as if it cant decide on what to set the contrast to. Or it could be that the dynamic contrast is fighting for a certain brightness value, but the manually set brightness is not allowing it. I might be wrong about this, and it could just be a hardware backlight problem, regardless, I wish HTC had the Sense (ha ha!) to allow us to disable dynamic contrast if we wanted to. I'm pretty sure this is whats causing the issue where people see flickering when the keyboard pops up.
screen issue?
hi..
i had the widget set on the third setting, the fourth being the brightest. i had the same problem with my first phone and thought at the time it may have been a backlight problem? or power flow problem? i sent that phone back and the next phone did the same? after posting on here.. i removed the widget and manually adjusted the brightness. i like the screen quite bright, manual adjustment cleared the problem for me. i gotta say yep the flicker was more visible on screens with alot of white, google, facebook, texts? and way way annoying! i can only suggest you try the same as i did? perhaps it is just a quirk with the htc? or maybe the os? you never know, when the update to keylime or whatever it is called comes out the flicker may go totally?
JUST had this on facebook? hope it helps?

HTC One Camera problem purple spots

Hello,
So lately when taking pictures in low light conditions I've been noticing purple spots in the right top corner of my pictures.
I did some research and I found a problem with a purple haze but I think this is a different problem.
Here is an example of what I mean:
Picture 1:
http://imgur.com/k3mUpsL,J9p0geX#0
Picture 2:
http://imgur.com/k3mUpsL,J9p0geX#1
As you can see it doesn't matter when or how I take my picture the spots seem to be in the same place.
I have the international version and i'm running Viper One 6.2.1 android version 4.4.2.
Does anyone know what this is and if there is a way to fix it?
Thanks on advanced!
No FIX.
I had same issue with the phone (at&t version). since i was under warranty, at&t replaced me with a Refurb one. Try installing AOSP based rom, or ARHD and see if the issue still persist.
HTC replaces phone with another defective one
I recently discovered my HTC ONE M7 has dead pixels on the top of the screen (notifications bar, which sucks as you cant access any shortucut to the notifications and need to look for the app on your own) and in the middle of the screen (when there is something to click on that spot i have to scroll up or down where the screen actually works. In some cases the page can't be scrolled down or zoomed therefore I am just screwed without options).
Turns out this happens 6 months after I got this phone exchanged by HTC (because the original phone I bought had a defective camera with purple color bug). This means the screen of the "new" phone I got has a life span of 6 months without defects only. SIX MONTHS!!
It seems when HTC replaces your phone for a new one they are just giving you defective products or refurbished products, which will break shortly after.
So nobody knows what is causing this problem and if its hardware or software related?

Screen Problem

I've bought an Xperia Z3+ two months ago, recently, I've discovered a certain bright spot on its screen, it's particularly available in white and bright backgrounds, it's less noticeable in black backgrounds, and not at all noticeable in non-solid backgrounds.
I know that it's a hardware issue, but the warranty here is a joke, and I don't want to pay for a new screen for such a small issue.
But on the other hand, once I noticed it, it's all I could see in the mobile, and it removes the whole premium feel in it.
I've manually removed the back cover and there's no issue in the battery that would make it press towards the screen and cause such issue.
I was wondering if there's any manual fix for it? I know that it's a light diffusing layer problem, mostly caused by a certain pressure, but is there a way to make it normal again? A certain pressure in an opposite way, or heat, or suction from behind, etc.
Here's a picture that indicates the issue "It's more visible and annoying in real life"
I have the exact same problem at the very same position as you point. My country does not support officially the Z3+ and so the cost is really high. I searched enough on the internet and i think it is where the vibration is but i cannot confirm it. I also see it all the time because i simply know it is right there. At my case, there are other 2 spots but not seen so easy.
I only hope not to get bigger. I wish i knew what caused this so to be carefull (such as sun exposure or something else - although i am REALLY careful as a person with my mobile phones). I cannot help you and i got really dissapointed after my long search on the web so i will have to live with that. It is hardware problem as i really tried everything to find out that.
Hope someone has any solution. It is not only on our phone but to others too. I hope the post won't get lost after some days!

That's so weird, I thought it was caused by an anonymous fall that I wasn't aware of, the other point is barely noticeable but it's at the top left.
Also, my upper speakers started to produce mixed loud and faint sounds when i play something whike the volume is below 25%.
It's winter, and I usually text near heatrrs, which made me think that the speakers problem was caused by the heater and the screen problem was caused by a particular fall.
Since the warranty is useless I've manually disassembled the phone and there's nothing behind that spot of screen except battery, the vibrator is way below the navkeys, there's no screen on the other side of it, which actually seems to prove that our spots are similar by coincidence, because there's no pressure on the other side except for battery, and I highly doubt yours is faulty, because mine isn't.
My z3+ single sim also has the spot at the same place, but it isnt that noticable since i use auto brightness, really weird, i thought because maybe of accidental high press when the phone was in my pocket.Anyway, I'll switch to XZ premium in december, that sh*t is dope
On the top left corner i have too! So it is not a coincidence. Something is there that you couldn't see when you opened it. I only hope it doens't get worse..
I have it too not only there also in the right bottom corner and a line of 1 centimeters like 1 inch bow in the left upper corner one day was not in there and to the other plaff they appear
Sent from my E6533 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Now that multiple people have it, I started to suspect that there's actually something.
I might open if again when I can't live with it anymore, but for now I'll try to enjoy it as it's new, and hopefully won't get worse.
I have a z3 and z4 that also have these white spots..no way to fix. look up tv lcd problems your not gonna be able to fix....it gonna keep me from buying anymore sonys till they switch to oled.
I have the same problem in the same position and it was happen after a warranty repair.... Sony didn't have noticed it....

Brightness dependent yellow tint and black lines on the screen

I am facing this issue in my Note 9,
While I am on lower brightness , I am not getting this issue. While increasing the brightness getting these black lines and also some sort of color discoloration with yellow tint also , Could someone help on this?
While on maximum brightness there is no lines are visible. Could someone help on this?
This is what android 10 does to the dispaly setting.downgrade to pie using odin to fix the screen. Back to normal,Basically in android 10 they changed the warmthness of the screen .I'm assuming you are using adaptive display and have the slider set to warm.on pie your screen would look everso slightly pink on warm but on the android 10 the screen looks yellow /brown at warm position on the slider,I made a thread complaining and ended up odining back,They have made it identical to the note 10 in terms of screen colour calibration. It sucks imo as for the black lines you mention I have no idea what that is
Please help me
Please help me
Have you factory reset ??
Next step would be to return under warranty .
Ive allready helped you just odin back to pie it fixes the issue
Happened to me as well. Display discolored showing grainy lines after recent update
I am on Latest build of Samsung Note 9 - India, with March security update on board.
I noticed that my screen shows grain whenever the brightness auto adapts to lower levels, it doesn't get normal until I keep it locked for some time and then unlock.
My phone is 1year and 3 months old however it has no issues in maintenance - no cracks, no falls, no display injuries.
I tried to keep the auto brighntess (adaptive) to off and yet this is happening occassionally when watching videos or pictures or simply pulling down the notification bar.
I also Factory reset it today and I found it is happening right from start - during the setup screens.
I am pretty disappointed something like an update is pushed and that breaks the quality of a device!
It's livable but very annoying when you are showing a picture to someone and suddenly you see the screen becomes discolored and there are grainy black lines all over the display.
I have only one hope if there is a way to go back to Feb or January build of android 10. Anyone else facing this? Please help me.
Have you sorted this issue @aronhq??
Is this a software or hardware issue. I also have this issue and i have been using android 10 from feb and got the issue today only though recently secutity updated 2 days back

Temp fix
As a temp fix i am using oled saver app from playstore and keeping it on serting brightness full and adjusting the brightness with oled status bar so try it
My issue got solved on its own the same day..But now the issue is while watching video, it gets blocked images and slight color artifact when dark scenes play.I don't know whether its due to video compression and i didn't notice such issue previously.

Hi, any update for possible solution?
I just got the exact same issue. But my phone is Note8.
I was just watching youtube video then open an app then suddenly my screen turn yellowish and black turned faded. Also got horizontal lines if brightness is set to around 20%-70%. This happens right from boot up of the phone where Samsung logo appears.
Also I noticed that my phone gets warmer.
Mine still not back to normal.
Any update for a possible solution?
Thank you
