[q] xperia sp bricked bootloop - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I couldn't find any thread about my case so I'm starting a new one.
So, I wanted to change bagyusz's cm11 to mr steve's so I opened CWM and did the factory reset plus format system. After that I accidently hit the reboot now button. After that my Xperia SP is stuck on the SONY screen and I can't do anything about this. Please help :crying::crying:

Youve wiped your /system so your phone is blank.
Get flashtool and an FTF and revert to stock then root, recovery and flash custom rom again.

Thanks, I'll try this but 1) Could you point me where can I find a stock rom .ftf to download and 2) My phone was rooted, even though I'll have to do it again ?

As soon as you wipe /system your phone is basically without recovery/OS so unrooted. While the recovery is active and in memory this is fine but if you reboot then you lose even that. Root is all about the OS which you dont have.
FTF files can be found in the android development forum.

If you have flashtool.. Download stock ftf from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311964 and place it in Flashtools>firmware. Connect your device in flashmode( Volume Down and connect). Click on the Lighting Button> Flashmode and flash. [ BACKUP YOUR INTERNAL MEMORY AS IT GETS FORMATTED]
But note that you will lost Root Access. You have to root your Xperia SP again. And if you have unlocked bootloader then it will remain unlocked. No need to unlock again.

Forgot to mention to power off the device if stuck in bootloop.
Take off your back case. Take a pen, pencil or similar object. Hold the small yellow button at the bottom of the device with the nib of pen or the object you are having. Hold that button until the device vibrates thrice.

Thanks all for help and support it works fine now ;D but again i have to root my device. Maybe someone can tell me the fastest/easiest option to do this. I'd like to do this with locked bootloader. Last time I used V-Root. Any suggestions ?

Good to know that your device works fine.
But Remember You have to install CWM again as well as Root your device again.
This is the Kernel which install CWM as well as Root your Device.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292716
Just Flash the kernel using Flashtool in Fastboot mode.

I werdly bricked my Xperia T...

I tried to install Clockworkmod on my Xperia T and somehow I managed to completely brick my phone. (I was using custom karnel)
I can get to the recovery menu without any problems, but when I close it, screen just turns black and nothing happens. If I try simulated batery pull it just boots up SONY logo from where I can get back to recovery menu. I also tried to get my phone to fastboot or flashmode but my PC doesn't regoionize it.
I have no idea what is wrong. Installation was smooth and I was already doing the same thing but with Android version 4.1.
Is there any posibility to restore karnel from recovery or any other solution.

I've tried both. First one fails at install because my phone isn't rooted. Second one it flashes karnel but my screen stays black after I turn on the phone.
Any other idea?

[Q] Bricked my phone... but weirdly.

Hello... I seem to have bricked my phone but it's a weird brick. I tried a new ROM since I was having problems with my old one, and it got stuck on a reboot loop. I just didn't know what to do and (very stupidly, in retrospective...) just wiped the system partition. Now of course I can't access xRecovery (to be fair, they warned against doing that) and I don't remember if I had CWM installed at the time.
The phone was rooted, stock kernel.
Now, I can boot the phone and get stuck on Sony Ericsson logo... so far so good. But when I try to get it into flash mode, it won't boot. Is there anything I can do to un-brick it?
I tried Flashtool, PCC and SEUS. But since I can't boot into flash mode, it doesn't work.
If there's any more info I can provide please tell me and I will.
Thanks a lot.
Have you tried with flashtool as described in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=35338935&postcount=2 ?

Yes, I tried Flashtool, SEUS and PCC. I un-bricked it from soft bricks quite a few times. But I can't now because I can't boot on flash mode.

Dude looks like it just a soft brick ... u can download the official firmware for this model and try to flash it from flashtool..power off phone, hold back button key left on right side and connect the USB to PC at the same time,... PC will detect your phone and turns to blue light..
In my case i totally ****ed up when i tried to unlock the bootloader. Now my phone is totally dead.. can't go to falshmode, phone won't start at all... but in your case at least your phone is turning on in sony ericsson logo which means its just a soft brick ...

if you have unlocked bootloader.
try this. it should go into flash mode this way.
launch flashtool. select some kernel. alfs or nAa.
take the phone battery out. connect the usb and then put in the battery immediately.
it should start flashing the kernel. then you can use the cwm integrated in the kernel

I imagined xD. I just tried with that too.
With flashtool, it gets stuck on "Reading device information" (I wanted to post edit and post this but the forum didn't let me xD). I'll let it try a little bit longer, but it's been a while.

Bootloop after root

SM-T815
I have try to root with odin and cf autoroot and all work fine, then I have installed twrp for 815 5.0.2 version. After the installation the tablet restart on recovery mode, I try to make a backup and twrp works good but at the restart the tablet is in bootloop.
I can’t shut down. I can only access download mode and not recovery mode.
I have flashed the original firmware with odin and odin says PASS but at the restart it is bootloop again. I try to flash twrp again and odin says PASS, after this I can read on the start screen (the only one I can see) “recovery is not nandroid enforced”. I tried different firmware but nothing work.
Someone can help me?
Grazie 1000
Boot into recovery POWER +HOME +VOL DOWN then as soon as the screen goes blank immediately change to VOL UP whilst still holding the other buttons.
Wipe data. If that doesn't work then factory reset.
Thanks for the answer. I try more than 100 time but it don't go in recovery mode. I tried to complete discharging and then recharging with the buttons pushed. Nothing. Every time it's stuck in the start screen and i can't shut down.

Try booting to Download mode then hit CANCEL then immediately hold HOME + VOL DOWN + POWER make sure you hold the buttons in that order and you must be quick.

Hi All!
I would like to share with you how I fix the preblem after root of my T815.
After long night and reading whole net I found the solution.
As you I also wants to root my device because of availible only one user. I wanted to have multiusers. So folowing the instructions downloading all software and after root I got bootloop. Trying everithing but no success. I wasn't able to flash even some of the stock ROMs.
Solution:
I found in Sammobile what is my current ROM and downloaded it. Then flash - no any problems. Went smooth. Then I root the device... and now I have rooted device with multiuser support.
It seems that after fresh flash everithing is OK. It seems that after you playing with your device for a while you enabled some options thats make your device to loop after root.
I wish you Happy New Year!
Nikog
Whoops sorry, I completely forgot to come back to you about this!
Glad you got it sorted.

Xperia Z repeats reboot after root

Hello,
today I rooted my Sony Xperia Z.
After unlocking the bootloader I did the next steps with Z_DooMLoRD_CF-Auto-Root-ported_FW-350.img and Z_DooMLoRD_insecure_FW-350.img.
After that I worte "fastboot reboot" to reboot the phone.
My issue now, is that the phone boots until the "Sony" writing , simultanously the red led in the upper right corner appears, then the display is black again and the LED off.
The phone repeats this now endless....
I hope you can help me!

Connect it to your pc and open flashtool, it might tell's you what fw your on (not sure though as I haven't used it in some while) If not you have to flash either a stock rom, or another kernel with inbuild recovery and then a custom rom, depending on what you want.

Flash system img and boot img via minimum adb and fastboot. If you have the original recovery put dload folder(Present in firmware zip) in sdcard. While phone is off turn it on by pressing all buttons power + Volume up+ volume down. This will force update your phone.

Are you sure that you are doing it correctly what happens when you force update the software? Does it fails? It should work. Download firmware of your phone extract it. There should be a dload folder in the extracted data. Put dload in root directory of sdcard. Then turn on your phone by pressing all buttons. You will see emui logo then the update will start automatically.

See this Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/mega-thread-root-unbricking-updating-t3400994
So:
1. Download drivers and fastboot/adb
2. Follow instructions to enter in fastboot mode (its important to be on FASTBOOT. Now, i dont know, if your phone will show anything, but from adb command you will see if its connected or not)
3. Go to chapter 4 from the specified thread
4. Now your phone gonna be revived with a lower version firmware, from where you have 2 options: update via OTA: with major build steps, or update manually (but carefully: you have update with major builds: eu fw: 170 or 188, 550 or 560, 564, 574,)
5. For cn fw, you have dedicated thread too.

Send your phone to Huawei care center. If it's lcd issue they will fix it or if there is a software issue they will fix it too.

Try this method.https://www.youtube.com/shared?ci=r6nXXHa-8_4
I know his screen is working but as you can see by pressing all buttons you don't have to use the screen the update starts by itself. So you just need to do the same thing and leave your phone like at least 30~40 mins.
Yeahh the phone is working again. This time i did the dload folder on internal storage instead of sd kart. Now the force update worked. A BIG thanks to Suleiman01 and tamaskurti for not giving up on me and keep helping, THX
Glad to hear that. Our p8 lite cannot be bricked so easely. Always its a method to recover it.
