Hello guys , bought the Moto G 2014 today but a sad thing popped out.. the Xiaomi Pistons don't work. The jack can't enter totally in the audio socket and my device doesn't recognize them.
I tested some huawei P7 headphones and worked good.
Can you suggest me some Headphones+mic+buttons with same Xiaomi Piston quality but compatible with Moto G 2014? Thanks!
UPDATE FROM MOTOROLA CHAT: They said MotoG2014 aswell as MotoG2013 does not support 3 buttons remote. Just 1 button remote. I'm pretty sad tho

I have three 3.5mm wired headsets:
original headset that came boxed with my old LG Optimus One
original headset (never before used) that came with an old Nokia feature phone
original headset (never before used) that came with an old Alcatel feature phone
I tried these three headsets on these four phones:
Nexus 5 (Android 5.0.1)
Moto E, Tracfone variant, XT830C (Android 4.4.4)
Moto G 2014, US, XT1064 (Android 5.0.1)
Moto G 2014, Global, XT1063 (Android 5.0.1)
The LG headset works fine on all four phones. The Nokia and Alcatel headsets only work on the Nexus 5 and the Moto E. The two Moto G's wouldn't even recognize the headsets (they don't even work for music playback). Regular earbuds also work fine on the Moto G.
What's going on here? Both Moto G's work fine with regular earbuds and the LG headset, so the phones seem to be okay. The Nokia and Alcatel headsets both work fine on the Nexus 5 and the Moto E, so the headsets seem to be okay. So why don't they work with the Moto G? (Esp. since they work fine with the G's smaller sibling, E?)
I am planning to buy a new headphone for my moto g 2014.First I selected mi piston v2,but it is not compatible with moto g 2014.Now after some research I found out on digit that conwon EM1 is one of the best headphone of 2014.It is available for INR 975 on flipkart and reviews are awesome, but before buying I wanna make sure whether it is compatible with moto g or not.
is anyone using USB Type-C earphone on Z2?
I can't make it work on Z2.
any suggestion? rom? kernel?
I also can't use USB type c (CDLA). Is there a way to enable it?
Im interested in this topic too. I just ordered some usb c earphones. Would be a pity if they don't work.

So far I can't find the way to use it.
If you find one, please let me know.

According to an test, an earphone add on Amazon the zuk z2 Pro should work with USB c earphones. And according to a YouTube video they work with the zuk z1 too.
Both of you have the z2 plus? Which earphones you got? I will get the new ones of xiaomi with noise cancelling in September.

I'm interesting in the xiaomi ANC earphone too. Are you use z2 pro? Looking forward to your review.
I don't want to use add-on. Le Eco phones work without add-on.

Just got my USB earphone today (xiaomi with anc).
Works on my ZUK Z2 Pro without any problem. Even anc works. No add on required just plug in and go.
I bought 2 p30 pros. Bothwith the cheapest China headphones. I came from the s8 plus, and I have to say the AKGs that came with the Samsung have quality. These headphones that came with the p30 pro are ****. Like the crappy iPhone knockoff headphones ... Seriously. Am I the only one?

this is a region thing
Some region's carriers remove the headphones, others replace them with cheaper options.
The ones I have are standard quality. Not great, about similar to Apple quality.
The AKG "tuned" ones Samsung provides are better, but not much. Again, I wouldnt say they are great either
If you care about the quality of your headphones, why would you ever use the ones that came with any phone? Any good set of headphones will work with any phone. I'd rather phones came with terribly cheap headphones, so I don't waste money paying for things I won't use.

In europe the Huawai headphone that came together with the phones where never really good.
Because of that ive bought those:
"Huawei Active Noise Canceling Earphone 3" and also figured out that the P30 pro is worse in terms of music compared to the Mate 10 pro.

I'm curious as to what setup you're using that you've found the P30 Pro worse for music. I've been pleasantly surprised by the quality of BT audio from the P30 Pro using LDAC compatible devices.

Iam using no BT headphones, iam using those:
https://consumer.huawei.com/at/accessories/earphones-cm-q3/
for both, the Mate 10 Pro and P30 pro and the P30 does not sound as good as the Mate.
Definitely it's the worst headphones that I have.. For a flagship, even if I won't use it, I expected more quality.
Hello. New to the forums.
So I got my first Mi phone. Coming from a samsung Galaxy S8.
Love the phone however I can get the mic on my 3.5mm headphones to work?
In a call, I can hear the other person but they can't hear me through the external mic.
I tried using the headphone that come with the s8 and the apple wired airpods.
I'm on the Mi 9T global version with firmware stock global 10.3.11.
Has anyone else tried it with same issue?
Any pointers?
I have Same issue with AKG Earphones the Mic won't work. it's not fitted probably.

Just saw this article that says an external mic won't work. Not sure how accurate it is. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com...ortant-video-feature/articleshow/70339311.cms
It definitely works on the audio recorder app, though. Seems like a MIUI bug. I remember Discord on Poco F1 at first had the same issue
edit: a thread about this problem already exist btw... https://forum.xda-developers.com/k20-pro/help/external-microphone-3-5mm-audio-jack-t3961228

My apologies. I thought I'd more detail in my thread about my phone and the headphones I've used. The mic doesnt work on the audio recorder app either for me.
Edit : Can anyone with Mi 9T global miui try plugging some headphones with mic and see if the mic works? I'm not sure if mine is defective unit and need to be sent back or not.

I ordered some Xiaomi Headphones and surprising they worked.
it seems Xiaomi have pulled an apple move and doesn't work with all headphones.
My problem is solved now
