I rooted my H/K M8 after I accepted the update that enabled WiFi calling but never did s-off. I got a notification that the EYE experience update was available for my device but I couldn't accepted. Now that I am back to stock and unrooted, when I go into settings to check for the EYE experience update it tells me my device is up to date. Is there a way to update my device?

I just got a message on my ARHD 5.1 ROM saying that a System Update has been downloaded and ready to install. I looked at the system update and it's for the 4.4.2 update. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't install it considering I'm not using a fully converted GPe and I'm unlocked, rooted, S-OFF, with a modified HBOOT. So, how can I get rid of the notification? It won't let me swipe it away and I really don't want to have such a potential issue just an accidental click away.

Flash the stock recovery. Take the OTA. REflash custom recovery. re-root.
Or, you wait until the firmware and update has been decrypted and modified, install those and keep your root from start.
Moreso for us S-OFF folks, but every time you update via OTA, the chances of you to get S-OFF become a tad slimmer.
Hi, I have an AT&T HTC One M7 with stock 4.3. I would like to update to 4.4 stock(whatever is the latest version), but I can't do OTA update because I don't have AT&T I am using a pre-paid carrier(AIO/Cricket) that uses their network.
How can I manually update? And if I do, does it completely reset my phone like a custom rom? Thanks.

Ota updates dosent reset the phone.
You can not receive ota update if you are not on the AT&T network unless you flash it manually. Flashing ota manually require S-OFF.
You could also use "close-to-stock" custom roms to get the latest version.
If s-off you can also change your CID/MID numbers and debrand your phone from at&t to the WWE or DevEd version to get future ota updates.

I'm familiar with most of this, I had a friend help me update from 4.1 or 4.2. He downloaded an ATT OTA update and just applied it to my phone somehow, I kept everything.
EDIT: How do I change it to WWE or DevED version, or if I do, does it still reset my phone updating this way?

Start by posting the output of "fastboot getvar all" but remove your IMEI and SN before posting.

if you have manually updated via OTA before your phone must be s-off. just flash my updates from here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2659374
most likely you'll need to use the 3.xx.502 RUU then the OTApkg

Yea I checked, mine is in fact, s-off.
So I download and install the "RUU Zip M7 UL JB43 SENSE50 MR Cingular US 3.17.502.3-decrypted "
Then install the "ATT_Sense6_OTAPkg.zip"
Correct? Also, will this reset my phone or do I keep my numbers/texts/apps/etc.?

No theirs 2 OTA their flash them in order the RUU then 4.4.2 then the Sense 6 .
Yes the RUU will totally wipe the phone. If you sure you didn't loose the preload/data folder you can try just flashing the 3.xx stock recovery then the 4.4.2 otapkg you won't loose data that way

none of those 3 will files will wipe the phone
using the RUU will for sure wipe the phone, which you may need if just flashing the recovery does not work (IE: Missing files from the data / preload folder)

Flashing a recovery will not generally wipe your phone.

Doesnt mention Eye Ex. But it says Google security so i guess its 4.4.4
I have yet to receive it. But I am constantly pushing the check update button
☝same here
The HTC Software Updates page shows that the Eye Experience update for the Sprint variant is currently in the certification stage. I don't think we'll get it until a day or so.

EDIT: For some reason, the 3.30.651.2 update info was removed from the Sprint Update page.
that is weird
Good news guys! OTA will be rolling out later on tonight!

Take a look through the thread in the link below. You'll need to reinstall the stock Android system recovery before you can take the OTA, and also need to be running a stock rooted ROM. However, since you're S-off you can install the newest firmware and then install a ROM based off the latest update. Beats having to go back to stock and re-root your phone

I have a normal edition Sprint HTC One M8 that is rooted with android version 4.4.4. I am still on the stock ROM. Whenever I got the phone, about 2-3 weeks ago, I wasn't aware that 5.0 was being released to the M8. So I updated to 4.4.4 through the OTA update and rooted. After rooting the system update popped up prompting me to update to version 5.0.
Now my question, is there an official rooted stock 5.0 ROM yet? I can't find it anywhere.
If there isn't, how do I go about updating to 5.0 from rooted 4.4.4?
Thanks,
Shawn
More info: this isn't the first time I've rooted phones. I've had an HTC EVO 4G and a Samsung Galaxy S3. This is just the first time I've had stuff not go as planned.
I tried to get S-OFF, however since "firewater" no longer works, and the only other way is SunShine, I can live with S-ON.

In order to take the OTA you need a stock rom (no modifications to system) and stock recovery.
Or option 2 is you can run the latest RUU

How would I go back to stock recovery and remove root?
Same question for RUU. I've only used RUU once on my EVO 4G to reset everything. Not sure if the process is the same for the One M8 or where I'd start lol

You flash stock recovery the same way you flash twrp, root should be ok I've never done an OTA I've always been s-off.
The rom you are on should also be ok unless you removed a bunch of bloat.
The RUU will wipe your device...back up anything important to your PC.
Side note: Every time there is an update and you like custom roms most require the firmware to be updated in order for them to work properly.
Updating firmware with s-off only takes a couple minutes and a lot less hassle then if you are s-on... so I would recommend biting the bullet and using Sunshine if at all possible.

I plan on staying with the stock ROM, just rooted so I'm gonna skip S-OFF. Never had an issue with it being on on my EVO (I flashed dozens of ROMs and stuff on it).
I'm ok with RUU wiping everything. I purposely haven't put much personal data on the phone cause I knew I'd be wiping within the next few weeks.
I'm gonna go the RUU method as everything will be fresh and unmodified.
Thanks for your help!
