If now can some get the moto x 2014 boot animation working on the nexus that would be awesome.
Only thing that can be a problem is the size of the files and the partition size. Partition is only 52.72 MB.

According to root explorer my oem partition is 52.72 free. All I have in that partition is the old boot animation that was renamed which is 6MB.

I deleted all of the items in that partition.......maybe thats why. I didn't want all of AT&T's crap. And I mean all of it.
Also, I used ROM Toolbox Pro to install the new boot animation, and it is in System>Media, not OEM......
Here is a crappy try of converting the moto x boot animation. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mrjcdiek4jobovg/nexus 6 bootanimation.zip?dl=0
The videos are 720p and images then resized to 2560 so the boot animation is pixelated. I might sit down and properly resize the images with PS but don't have the time to go through 120 jpgs right now.
I am LOVING the Nexus One bootanimation!
has anyone gotten the shutdown animation working?
Thank you for this thread.
Quick request...
Does anybody that have an AT&T Nexus 6 still have the bootanimation.zip that comes with the phone? I know it sounds a little backwards, but I would really appreciate it if someone can upload the zip file.
Thanks.

This is a good animation, I think it is better than stock CM.
I take no credit at all.... I'm just bringing it to the Nexus S side...
If you like these, then check the original thread out.

I had the same problem. What i did was, 1) delete the original bootanimation.zip and rename the cyanbootnanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip

Ps- Have you ever used Smu****.com to reduce the file size in your images? I was able to remove 5% of the file size on the most of the JPGs.
Probably not a huge deal but with this many frames it may make a difference in I/O speed during boot.
I did followed the instructions but I get the rom's boot animation. My Samsung Galaxy SII is rooted. What do I have to do?

Hello.
This is my first boot-animation, and it's made specially for phones with 1280 x 720 resolution, like the Galaxy S3, the HTC One X or the Nexus.

You can use gimp and davids batch processor (an add on for gimp), photoshop you can set up an action to resize all the frames. i have a tut in the evo 3d and evo lte themes thread that tells how to resize frames for a bootani's using gimp and the batch processor

Open the zip, don't have to unzip it, look for the txt file and open that. Edit the screen size. It is in the first line. Save and let the zip update and then put on your phone.

How to Install?
In my LG Optimus L9, the file for Boot Animation is /system/media/bootanimation.zip.
So, you have to Overwrite this file with the bootanimation.zip attached in this post.
OR, for other Phones, you may Search the appropriate Forums for your Phone, regarding installation of Boot Animation.
To overwrite, use a Root Explorer App or use ADB to push it into your phone.
Best Regards,
Thakur

The /system/ folder is read-only by default. But when I used root access to delete the animation file and replace it with this boot animation, it worked. So, you may try replacing it with a root access file manager.
Note: Although, replacing boot animation don't require Root if using ADB.
