I am planning to buy a MX2 for use in China. Apparently, the MX2 supports LTE Channel 3/ 1800 MHz. China Unicom (in the area I'll be traveling in) supports that frequency. The Wikipedia Page for "planned" LTE (although it says "In Trial", I've verified they have it in the city I'm going to) is as follows:

Under China Unicom LTE Channel 3 1800 MHz FDD they have a "note". It says:
(↓) 1755 – 1785 MHz / (↑) 1850 – 1880 MHz
I have no idea what that "note" means. Is it implying some "varient" of LTE Channel 3 that perhaps I won't be able to get?
I would greatly appreciate input on anyone who can shed some light on this!

I am wondering is there any piece of software for HTC Diamond that can give information about currently used GSM channels (both uplink and downlink)?
For example, I am O2 customer and here in Germany O2 can operate both in 900 MHz and 1800 MHz band. I am interested to find out, using such a software, which particular (200 kHz) uplink and downlink channel has base station assigned to me....

I've just bought a AT&T HD7S off ebay from a US seller and I'm in the UK. It's not until just now that I considered how it might perform in the UK. I see that the AT&T HD7S lists HSDPA: 850/1900 MHz as its 3g frequencies, while the UK HD7 lists HSPA/WCDMA: 900/2100 MHz. Does this mean I won't be able to get 3g signal on UK networks? Does anybody have experience using a AT&T HD7S in the UK?
The HTC Help & How To page lists the following:

HSDPA/UMTS: 850/1900/1700(AWS)/1900/2100 MHz
But the Tech Specs page shows this:

So I wonder if the phone actually supports 2100 MHz
And if so, since O2 HSDPA/3G in the UK runs on 900/2100 does this mean that the phone will still get 3G on 2100 MHz, but won't benefit from the 900 MHz band which enables coverage in harder to reach locations.
Secondly, should I only flash AT&T Radios on to this phone or can I flash the Europe modem found here forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/HTC_HD7/Radios ? Might doing so enable the 2100 MHz band which isn't used by AT&T ?

These are the correct specs.... because there's no 2100MHz band for GSM, the 2100MHz is used by CDMA networks.

I read some where that T mobile offers a rom for europe and asia where 2100MHz for 3G is enabled, any help please?
I am pretty sure the T-Mobile variant does not support the 2100 MHz band used in Europe. The supported frequencies are only 850 MHz, AWS (1700/2100 MHz), and 1900 MHz. The 2100 MHz used for AWS 3G is not the same frequency range used for 2100 MHz in Europe.
This phone was not designed with the international market in mind, considering it's cost.

The FCC wanted to harmonize its "new" AWS spectrum with Europe's UMTS 2100 band, since both would be used for new "3G" phone service. Unfortunately, as you can see above, the lower half of Europe's UMTS 2100 band almost completely overlaps with our PCS band, so complete harmonization wasn't an option.
However, given the circumstances, the FCC did do a pretty good job of harmonizing AWS with the rest of the world. The upper part does line up perfectly with Europe's UMTS 2100 band, and the lower part does line up with Europe's DCS band. Therefore manufacturers already building GSM+WCDMA "world phones" actually won't have to support any additional frequency bands at all.

I got this as a gift for my daughter and now all I get on TMO is 3G Edge. I am in Maryland, USA. I thought this thing was supposed to support a bunch of LTE bands but I don't see many matches for either TMO or AT&T. I've tried various APN settings to no avail. Someone suggested flashing a new modem to unlock the 1700 band but I cannot find anything on that either. Am I stuck with a 2G BRICK??????

Stay close to WiFi! I'm afraid that you may have yourself a '2G brick'. It would appear that T-Mobile in the US use the following frequencies:
LTE Frequencies (FDD LTE, not TDD LTE)
1700 MHz & 2100 MHz AWS band 4
1900 MHz PCS band 2 (in refarmed areas)
Lower 700 MHz band 12 (in development)
3G/4G Frequencies (WCDMA)
1700 MHz & 2100 MHz AWS band 4
1900 MHz PCS band 2 (in refarmed areas)
2G Frequencies (GSM/GPRS/EDGE)
1900 MHz PCS band 2
The only band from this list that the M2 supports is 2G 1900 MHz. The 1700 MHz & 2100 MHz band is an upload/download pair and is different from the 2100 MHz band used in Europe (the one the M2 supports), which is actually a 1900/2100 up/down pair. I'm fairly sure that frequency support is a hardware thing, it's not possible to change supported bands by flashing a new radio module.

Hi all, I purchased nokia 6 (ta-1000) 2 months ago and was satisfied. Problem was i work in dessert area and my phone unable to use 4G band. After many research i found that this nokia 6 doesn't support other 4G bands except china country coz its chinese variant. so my question is does Nokia 8 have many variants too? If yes then can you all guide me? i as am planning to buy nokia 8 and dont want to end up having same 4G band problem like nokia 6.
I have the TA-1004 version. It works in Southeastern Europe with the 1800MHz LTE frequency my phone provider has, also tried it and it works on the 2600 4G frequency from another local provider.
These 2 are confirmed, but there's also the specifications info that the local seller has on the website, which includes all these band frequencies for 4g: 700 / 800 / 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1800 / 1900 / 2100 / 2300 / 2600
So I'm guessing TA-1004 should work with all of the above.

Go to your phone carrier's website and check what band frequencies it has for LTE/4G. Or a google search. That's what I did.
