I like a few of the watch faces that come preloaded but is there any way to edit them in a program like watchmaker?
Here you have all the images.

How did you pull there images? I want to edit a watchface from the latest wear update. I'm mainly looking for the images for the Digitalog watchface.

Download the LWX48P update: http://android.clients.google.com/p....signed-lenok-LWX48P-from-KNX01R.149e0c34.zip
In the zip go to /system/priv-app/ and extract lgWatchface.apk, lgWorlClockWatchface.apk, lg3OceanWatchface.apk...., in their respective folders.
From the apk extract the images, they are in the res folder

Ok I did that but the watchface called Digitalog is not listed in any of those files. In MinModWatchfaces.apk I found a preview of the watchface but nothing else. It's called watchface_digitalog_preview_round.png. This watchface was on the watch before the ota though so maybe thats why. I need to figure out how to extract it from the watch or get a system dump maybe?

I've been searching but couldn't find Digitalog images, so i created a similar one.
Rename the attached file to .face and try it with facer

Thanks alot man. Just what I wanted.
has anyone found a way to get rid of the simple and increment pre-packaged watchfaces? they're not part of the lg* apks, so I havent been able to edit or ditch them
How can I get the original Hiking face in order to update it within the watchmaker application?
You need to download a watch rom, extract the app containing the face and copy the needed pictures.
See post #4 for details.
Any way to get a specific Moto 360 watch face (Classic) and modify it for the G Watch R? Would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out with this!

If your talking about pictures that you only want viewable in something like "Astro File Manager" you could put a dot in front of the folder in question.
For example, for the pictures I have of my GF, i hide it by naming the folder ".GF" and it wont show in Gallery at all... but if you use a file browser like Astro you can view the files by going into the folder.
In Linux, a dot before the name of the folder usually means a hidden folder, hence thats why gallery won't pick it up then.
ive added dots to the beginning of some of the folder, but they are still appearing in the gallery
try using the nomedia file.
connet your phone to your computer, go to the file you don't want pic, music or whatever from create a new txt file open it, save as name nomedia change file type ot all files remove the .txt extention and then delete the first .txt file..
works for me...

so none has a solution to this problem?

well thats what i believe, because i dont know where else the images would be located. f
If you wana hide pic, you can use advanced launcher to just hide the gallery. Images in a zip should not come up in your gallery unless the zip was extracted. I think you my have images in your "download" folder. Just move them somewhere else and they shouldn't come up anymore

When I select my custom wallpaper, I don't want to go through the resizing process over and over again. Is there a way I can copy the wallpapers I want to the system directory in order to use the system wallpaper app? I tried searching for this topic, but couldn't find anything like it. Thanks for any assistance with this issue.
*Update*I found my answer on another website:
"They are not in a directory.. they are on the Launcher.apk under \res\drawable
I know you can replace the wallpapers there with your own ( I've done this before) but I'm not sure If you'll be able to add more wallpapers to the gallery without replacing the default ones. "

It would probably be easier if you checked out on the market Wallpaper Set and Save.

The wallpapers are in the Launcher.apk file.
Replace as necessary and re-sign the apk file.
You will find wallpapers that are in there twice they are in fact the wallpaper itself and a thumbnail (with "small" added onto the name).

I've got that much from searching around. Is it just too in depth that theres not a guide for it? Sorry Im a noob to android.
The fact that you have to replace them is what gets me, is it too hard to write new ones into the .apk?
And even if (heres the noob Q) how would I pull apart the .apk, and then resign it?

Wow you are a noob. LOL.
To open the apk just use winrar or similar. Extract it like you would a zip file but don't delete anything. Now say you are wanting to replace Wallpaper1.jpeg, Wallpaper2.jpeg, Wallpaper3.jpeg and Wallpaper4.jpeg you only need to replace those 4 and the corresponding _small.jpeg file (example: Wallpaper1_small.jpeg) with your appropriately named replacements (customized Wallpaper1.jpeg and Wallpaper1_small.jpeg) and replace the original. Then take your modified files and drop it back into the /drawable directory of your apk file. Sign your apk file and you should be good to go. Make sure that you don't have a Thumbs.db in the directory. It's safe to have in there but it can take up space and it's completely unnecessary. In regards to just adding additional wallpapers it would have to be done from source. It's probably easier for a beginner to just rename and replace.
To resign... (sigh) there are about half a dozen ways to do it. Seek and ye shall find.
I really did not like the gray background on the music widget so I made a transparent version that looks real good on the Xoom.
To apply the apk you will need adb and root running.
adb remount
adb push Music2.apk /system/app/Music2.apk
What exactly did you edit to get it to do that? I'd like to play around with it a little bit.

Used Photoshop to edit the images. If you extract the files from the .apk using winrar or something similar you can find the background files in res/drawable-mdpi. There are 4 files in there that all start with bg_panel and are 9.png's.
Once I had the files edited the way I wanted, I just dragged and dropped them into the .apk using winrar.
Hope that helps.
great job on this
why do you use advanced task killer?
Works great, thanks.
Note to anyone trying to be lazy like me: You must use the ADB method he instructed how to use, simply trying to install the .apk doesn't work.

I use ATK more out of habit than anything else. I like to know what is running and kill what is not needed to reduce battery usage. Have used this since the G1 days

Thank you! I knew how to edit them, I just couldn't track down the files.
There is also a preview file that shows up when you are adding widgets to the screen. I don't recall which folder it is in but the name of the png is obvious.
Was searching for a market alternative that looked like this but none I found worked so this made my day! Thanks!
pure music should be working sometime soon, i emailed the dev about it and he acknowledged that there was a problem.
@B Dizzle: Thanks for this. I have not rooted yet but will soon to get this music widget mod. I am trying to make all my widgets have transparency (except CNN) and Pandora is the only one I have left to make my home screen complete. Do you know if it is possible to do something similar with Pandora widget?
See screen here (lower center).

Ive tried to install this mod, but music app is now lost.
Anyone can help me on this one?

For simplicity put the music2.apk file in the same directory as adb. Then attempt to push the file again.
A reboot may also fix this.
If all else fails, download the official dump from the dev section and push the original music2.apk back to your device.

I havnt got a XOOM yet so I can only use the emulator but maybe I could make one with the blue "holographic" outline if anyone is interested. Just let me know.

Downloaded the dump, pushed the apk, not working.
Any ideas?
If I had to guess there is a permission issue if the music2.apk is actually in the /system/app folder. Check permissions on the apk. Check the owner of the file. Try replacing the file with another using Root Explorer.

No, you don't need to unzip those files. You just have to place those zip files in sdcard/data/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker/themes

I'm having issues with my widgetlocker adding new themes. I've added themes before and they've worked fine but now it wont add any more. I've added the zip file, which has like 20 themes in it, into the location mentioned above. Then I go into widgetlocker and have the slider selection screen update the theme population. But it doesn't show any additional themes. What am I doing wrong?

Do I have to extract them and zip each one of them individually? Because I tried it extracted, with the actual folders for each theme in the correct directory, and still nothing happened.

Yeah, if the themes aren't in zip format, make a new zip (with Astro or something) and copy and paste the thenes inside. Widget Locker only loads up zip themes, but not themes within a zip.

Ok so I took all of the themes out of the larger archive and zipped them each individually, making sure that each zip had just the folder and the theme files within. Still nothing. I have no clue why these files arent being read.

You're not the only one having problems, i think everyone trying to help maybe misunderstanding the problem, or at least mine is different.
Once I have done the 1-5 I can choose a theme but the only thing that happens is that it adds an additional unlocker to my current setup, creating multiple unlock wigets.
There must be a setting somewhere that is not allowing the full theme to be applied.
for example if I install "droids on a wire" i get the unlock mechanism added to lockscreen (in additon to the one I allready had) but unthemed. It does not show the droids hanging just the base unlocker used in it; no background or anything other else in that theme. This happens on any theme I have tried to apply
what setting am I missing??
Screenshots of your device and what it supposed to look like would be very helpful.

No, with the new WS app you can import them. But, if you want to make changes to the jason file simply download the file and change the .WSTHEME to .ZIP using change name then unzip as normal

I have successfully unzip the file to edit the watch faces but what do I do to repack it into a .Wstheme file
good question how to repack edited files into wstheme again ?
A ".wstheme" is just a type of "zip" file. So to UNZIP a .wstheme just rename it and CHANGE the ".wstheme" to ".zip" then UNZIP it.
Now to zip it back up, just do the opposite. Just ZIP it back up, then rename the ".zip" to ".wstheme"
