Gear Live clasp broken - Samsung Gear Live

This piece came off (pic attached). Does anyone know where I can get new screws?
Yes, I have replaced the entire band with a new 22mm band, but I had grown accustomed to the original and would like it back.

I have the same issue. I called google support and they rma'ed the watch. I rather just have the screws

Multimedia dock confusion - genuine samsung?

Hi All,
Here's an odd one for you, got a samsung hdimi/multimedia dock today, but it doesn't seem to be like the others people have reviewed.
Mine's made all out of black plastic, and doesn't have the front bit smoked/clear like some, and was in one piece in the box.. also just behind the speaker holes on the bottom there are extra rubber grips..
Now the model code on the box says ECR-D980BEGSTD although on the dock it just says ECR-D980BEG are there just different models? there's a ECR-D980BEGSTA too on google.. what's anone else's like?
Thanks

Aftermarket aerial

Hi xda.
where i live i get pretty bad reception on any phone/network due to the mountainous region of NSW Australia.
I noticed my incredible s had 3 aerial holes in the back cover so a dock/aftermarket aerial can be plugged in.
Which docks/aerial's would be compatible? Or would i need to make my own?
Thanks.
If you live in a bad area where coverage is no good, there's not really a solution
Try upgrading your radio to the latest, that helped for me
If you're on optus you can buy this thing called 'home zone' which basically improves your signal in your house
I have not seen any covers which boost reception. Adding metal like foil to the back cover does not really help, I tried it. I think the cover has the antenna built into it, its not just the small strips on the inside
Here is the link to the optus home zone I found:

Band Size

I have large wrists and usually need extra links added to most watch bands. Anybody know how large the Gear band is?
The clasps come off so you can adjust.
In general the first thing to wear on a watch is the wrist strap. As this strap is an integral part of the watch you realise what that means. A complete new watch. I don't know what material the strap is made from. Oris make a watch range with what appears Rubber straps but this is a special reinforced vulcanised rubber same as found in car tyres. I have been using Oris for some years and have yet to replace a strap. I doubt the Gear is made from the same materials though?
Looks like its going to be a steep learning curve for us with this watch. I love my techno and am looking forward to trying out the Gear. I do have several reservations though and think a gear Mk2 will not be to far ahead. Judging by the offers Samsung are offering with the gear I think, from market research, that they also have some reservations. I am 'only' paying 120.00€ for my Gear not the full market price here of 300.00€.
Regards.
in fact, the band size is short, i am 1meter85, and the band is the limit to me. The plastic is hard (peharps too new?) and the close mechanism is bad placed (to much to the right)
YOU MUST cleary try it before buy it if you are tall!

Thanks for the information, I have it on pre-order, but I can return it if it doesn't fit. How do watch bands usually fit for you?
Usually, i must use the larger band i have a big arm (20.5cm in circumference on the wrist)

I measured my wrist, I'm getting approximately 21.5 cm (8 1/2 inches). I'm thinking I might have problems with the gear

Watch Band Pin

Has anyone had an issue with their band pin bending really easy? Today I went to lift something above my head and looked at my watch and the left side band was hanging off. Upon closer inspection the left side of the pin bent down at about the 1/4" mark.
Bummer. Guess I'll be buying new ones. Not sure if they are covered under the extended warranty.
Same here. I was reaching for something under my desk at work and the band got caught on the side of the desk. Bent the pin at the quick release. Hoping I can find a pin that works. I'm probably the only guy that really likes the stock band.

I've contacted google for a replacement, as it is under warranty, waiting for them to come back to me, in the meantime, I'm using a pebble steel one, it's a standard 22mm watchband.

They are replacing it under warranty, so contact them if you ordered from the play store. (replacing the entire watch)
That's the exact same watch band I use. Very nice quality, kind of pricey. But the silver tone is almost a perfect match to the gear live. The only issue I have is how the band slides around at the top on the watch pin bar. Having the easy clip on the pin helps it from moving some... but wish it made it stay in place more.
Let me know what they tell you about the watch band. Did you contact google or samsung?

I contacted Google, they asked me for the serial number, said it was under warranty, emailed me a link to order a replacement and the UPS shipping RMA label, when I get the replacement,I ship the broken one.
They put the price of the replacement watch on hold on your credit card, it will not be charged if you return the broken in time (7 days after receiving the replacement).

Alternate 22mm straps?

Anyone replace out your strap/band yet? How does it look?

Yep, hated the stock band. I purchased this one... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EYVBJA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Super quick review... Matches the watch like it was built for it. I've had this brand before and it held up well which isn't surprising, it feels like a piece of decent quality. Quicker to take on and off and less likely to drop your watch which is true all of straps of this type versus a buckle. Regrets = zero.
Sweet! I just ordered one too....

I wonder if they make that one in the rose gold that matches the gold Urbane. I will have to look into that...

Its much easier to match up the stainless than various gold, rose, graphite, ti, etc. bands/straps/bracelets. I would consider taking it to a larger shop where they have a good inventory and try to match it up.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005K2R4IO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This was the wand band I ordered when I bought the watch. It matches the watch perfectly. I attached some pictures below.
I am curious about how you charge the watch with a metal band. Could someone please post a picture of your watch on the stock charger to show how you do it?
just ordered this

The magnet is strong enough to hold the charger to the phone in most any position including the watch laying on its side. You can do it however you want.
Got the SUPER engineer Type II based on reviews
Amazon item B00CSE7IJ2
I know it seems like it's a bit pricey compared to others like the Hadley Roma but I'm super impressed with the quality. It's very heavy and the edges are not rounded over like it was mass produced. The links that can be removed for sizing have screws and they are super easy to adjust. I also like the buttons on the flip part of the band closure.
$72 bucks is still a hell of a lot cheaper than those rip off apple metal bands. Can't imagine them being any higher quality than this.
Important note: the 2.5mm fat boy pins that come with this larger band do not fit into the body of the LG Urbane because the lugs or tips are 0.8mm instead of the tiny ones that came on the existing leather strap band. For now, I'm using the pins that came with the watch, which are standard 22mm, but with smaller lugs. I could not find another vendor who made a 2.5mm pin with smaller tips since these larger bands are designed to go on Seiko's or diving watches.
Update: My plan is to put the fat boy pins that came with the watch in my dremel and use a micro diamond file ($13 on amazon) to reduce the lug down to a diameter that works in the Urbane. I will post an update if it works out and post links to the files I bought. Don't see why it wouldn't work and I don't think there is any other choice if you want to utilize the fat boy pins...which I do.
Stay tuned...pics coming.
Peter
ptchan5, could you explain in greater detail the Fatboy 2.5mm lug and LGs .8mm tips?
Keep us posted in the project
Anyone here thinking of going with a dark brown aligator band with the silver watch?
I would love to here what you guys think... or am I the only one not going with the metal braclet.

I like this also.
Metal bands are not my thing.
Fat boy 22mm Spring Pins MOD
This is a follow-up to my previous post.
I used a dremel to reduce the diameter of the lugs on the 2.5mm fat boy spring pins that come with the heavy diver watch metal bands. I searched high and low and I believe all the thick spring pins come with 0.8-1.0mm lugs at the tips which are too big for the body of the LG Urbane. Turns out the pins that come with the Urbane are actually smaller than the holes in the watch body, but the fat boy pins are just a wee bit too large.
This MOD took about 5-8 minutes to do and worked perfectly! Now you can use the spring pins that were supposed to go with the larger metal band.
All you need to do is insert the spring pin into the dremel about half way and turn the dremel on to low setting. I bought the cheapest set of micro files I could find on Amazon Prime for $14 bucks and I ended up only using a single file out of the set. The one I used was the 90 degree square one so I could easily just hold it up to the lug for a minute or two and moved it forward and backward while watching the lug leave metal residue on the file. The 316L stainless steel pins are not soft metal! So it's nearly impossible to mess this one up. Once I got the pins to be reduced down in size visually I tested them in the watch before proceeding to do the rest of the pin ends.
Again, don't waste your time searching ebay or Amazon for 2.5mm pins with smaller lug pins. They don't exist. Besides by the time you buy them and find out they don't work you could have owned a nice set of micro files and been done with the MOD on the original pins that shipped with the watch band.
Very happy with the results. Ping me if none of this makes sense. Enjoy!
** Apparently can't post the pics, so ping me and I'll email them to you; maybe someone else can post them for me **

That one has the cutout for the Moto 360. You don't need that for the Urbane.

That's not a factor for me. I'm getting that one because I liked the design best. I'm sure it would fit the urbane just fine.
I'm not much of a watch geek and have never paid too much attention to what strap I'm using. I used a NATO strap with my Pebble and the original straps with both my Pebble Steel and LG G Watch R.
However, I keep reading how uncomfortable the Urbane's strap is and it got me thinking: could I use the one in the Watch R with the Urbane? I find that one pretty comfortable.
Gorgeous!
Finally received my new metal bracelet and it beats anything I have ever seen, it really makes my watch look fair superior than even an apple watch
