Hi there.
I'm just about to prolong my contract with my provider. they have a nice package offer Note 4 + Gear S.
I seen many videos of the watch but still not sure so I thought I ask.
My IBM work mail comes on the note in the form of a separate auction the IBM traveler. It's a mailbox on its own and not connected / integrated on the email app that comes with the phone. Same goes for the calendar a stand alone app its ifs the phoned calendar app.
My concern is since these are standalone I will not get any of the IBM calendar and Mail notifications coming through my gear S?
Am I assuming correct or this will work and if so how?
Regards Laz

You should be able to forward Lotus Notes Calendar and Email notifications to your watch. Gear Manager allows you to forward notifications from any app (IBM Traveler is also in the list).
But, you will definitely not be able to access email or calendar details on your watch. I use AweSync to replicate my Lotus calendar with a Google account. This way, I can see all of my appointments and details on the watch.

Hi first Thx for your response. Much appreciated.
So let me see if I get this right. When u say notification what / how does this work, say I get an email and the watch pops up an alert saying 1 new mail in traveler or new traveler upcoming meeting alert but no details to the 2?
So like not even sender or subject etc. but just a very primitive way of notification.
If that's so when it comes to traveler usage is poor to say the least.

Hi all,
sorry for posting, but i've realy used the search functionality but all link i've found about this were dead.
My company migrated to LOTUS NOTES coming from Outlook.
How can I synchronize my Calendar / Contacts with my Kaiser?
Is there a free software alternative?
My God. My company migrate from Louts Domino to Exchange/Outlook
I can imagine why
Do you know a good sync tool for Lotus notes.
Local sync is enough (no need to direct sync with the domino server).
If you want to just sync with the local lotus notes installation then you can use Mnotes from commontime.
If your wanting to sync on the move then you will need to use Msuite but your company will need to install the msuite software on a server to push the mail out.
Both work excellent but I prefer to use Msuite
Mnotes works great , but try as well the new solution direct from Lotus Notes. Lotus Traveller is a real notes client and does all kind of push mail , sync or text info messaging .
Works perfect with my notes 8 .
Like multi-plattform blackbery funcitionality but from Notes Native.
Hi,
my company migrated to Lotus Notes 6.5 (therefore i think i can't use Lotus Traveller)
Next problem. I've tried mNotes, but after i've installed it it tried to connect to the internet (if i click on the service in the right bottom corner and look on the first page).
Why does this tool wants to connect to the internet. To a CommonTime Switching Center (csc.commomtime.com)
I've thought the sync runs local????
Kind Regards
Seppl
Oh God they Went TO Lotus Notes?
Time For a New Job.
First Act of my Reign When I came to my company, was to get us off Lotus Notes. I could never get it to work right On PCs, Let alone my Mobile.
My company use notes and I can't connect through the Wireless to the server and they wont pay for a data plan. So I installed outlook and used the Lotus Notes connector to sync all my contacts, calendar, and email to my phone. It kinda sucks. It would be nice to wirelessly sync all the time.
But hey it works.
I use Intellisync. It does not have the best of interfaces, but I successfully sync with Lotus Notes 7 and have done with 6.5 in the past.
Having said that, I am regularly complaining to our IT director about Notes. Awful program.
My company uses Lotus Notes 6.5.4. Everybody complains but I.T.'s response is "Notes is superior and has better blah blah blah stupid users we're not changing."
I use Commontime's mNotes to sync; if you pay for the subscription plan, you can also get push email. It's works good, but has minor flaws; for instance, I sync at home with Outlook, and occasionally notes within todo's are copied to Notes, and sometimes I get a "replication or save conflict" especially if I've been on the road using InOffice.
But Intellisync can't handle the home Outlook sync. It duplicates entries like crazy. If you're only syncing to a single desktop, Intellisync is good but with 2 desktops it's worthless.

Sounds like we might work for the same company!
I finally got fed up and set up a hosted Exchange account with Sherweb. I set up a rule in Lotus Notes to have all my emails automatically forwarded to the Sherweb account, and have an alias (my work email address) for the outgoing mail. Now I don't have to use Lotus Notes at all anymore because they give you Outlook 2007 for all your computers. I have push email and wireless syncing for calendar, contacts, and tasks, and couldn't be happier.
If you want to sync locally XTNDConnect PC is your program.
TDO
Easy Sync Pro works flawlessly for me. Why would anyone switch to Notes 6 when Notes 8 is the current version? makes no sense.
is there a way to Sync Outlook (Contacts, events, calender) but without the need of Sync first to Google ?
thanks
at the moment no!
maybe on rooted phones with a app..

That depends on if you have use exchange server or if your outlook is used stand alone.
Stand alone, you sync to Gmail from the PC, and your phone should automatically sync to Gmail. Not everything syncs, that way either.
If you can connect to an exchange server, then check out Touchdown. It's a mini suite that has a nice mail program, calendar, contacts & tasts than all work with activesync, and the mail program is a huge step forward from the one supplied by default. It's $20.00 to register after a 30 day trial, but that's beats monthly blackberry charges for BES services all day long. If this is for an activesync capable setup, check it out.

You don't need a rooted phone to use activesync and install Touchdown.
Based on what I read on the touchdown site it will not sync with desktop outlook? I couldnt see where they came out and said it but since its not mentioned Im guessing its out. Kind of a weird deal but I need to snyc tethered directly to outlook (no exchange) sans cloud as a work requirement. I saw an application called mylink that purportes to do this but there is little feedback and what there is is contradictory.
What options I know of...
I am also searching for something to link with the stand alone version of Outlook.
Here are the two best options I have found, and neither are great:
www_markspace_com/products/android/missing-sync-android.html
www_companionlink_com/androidusb/ol-android-usb.html
Right now it is sort of a deal breaker that I can't sync fully with Outlook.
P.S. I had to alter the URL's because it won't let me post them as I am a new user.
Thanks for the answers...
looks like missing-sync-android.html and Outlook to Android USB sync will do the job, anybody tried it?
40 bucks? Sheesh, thats a lotta ching for a sync applications. I may try that waveguide mylink. It was 9.99 lbs, about a third of the price.

it's looking good, with less price, thanks!
I use an app called syncmycal been using it for a couple of years. Been very reliable.
There is a basic free one to make sure you are happy and then it is time to hand over cash.
I use it for:
Personal outlook to personal google calendar SYNC
Work outlook calendar (exchange) to work google calendar SYNC
Work outlook contacts to google contacts EXPORT ONLY
Personal outlook contacts to google contacts SYNC
The export only for work contacts stops my personal stuff ending up on work servers (paranoid about that).
I guess being on Google servers is ok

Same here, I have just cancelled my order with Amazon for the Nexus One when I found out today that it does not have the inccluded software to sync my standalone version of outlook with the phone. Not everyone who buys Android will want to use gmail. I , for one don't. Just give me a great phone and allow it to sync with my current set up please
I really liked the form factor, the 3.7" screen (IMHO just the right size) and AMOLEd as well with 1GHz processor. Hope HTC brings out Win Phone 7 with the exact same hardware!!
It's true that there isn't a built-in app to sync Outlook that comes with the Nexus One. However, I've been using DejaOffice to sync my contacts and calendar to Outlook without using the Google "cloud". I am also using Splash ID to sync sensitive encrypted data between my Nexus and my laptop. There is a standalone app for the laptop which makes data entry much easier.
Thanks for that . I did have a look but I still feel Google should have supplied their own software to allow for the syncing of data between outlook and their phone. I prefer not to use a third party on the phone to give me contacts and calendar info; looks like the contacts magagement that comes in the phone is not used. I guess this is because it is so tightly linked to gmail. I will continue with my trusty Blackstone for now with latest NRG updates and wait for Windows Phone 7 which will hopefully come out with a 3.7/8" AMOLED screen and other goodies. Pity though I'm sure google could sell a lot more phones had they made this easier for consumers.
Good afternoon, Everyone - I hope everyone is having a great Saturday so far.
I, on the other hand, am incredibly frustrated and tired of trying to figure this out on my own... Also, I am in the middle of the woods today, and on a mobile device, so I am not as careful as I always am, so if by chance this has already been asked in a different thread, I am very sorry and I apologize...
I have the Note 3 with all latest updates. Not rooted. I also have the Galaxy Gear watch, again all the latest updates. I bought this watch primarily for two uses - to get notifications of my incoming text messages using the stock Samsung messaging app. Check - works great. The other reason, was so that I could get AND read my email messages using the stock Samsung email application. Check - works gr.... uh... not exactly. And HERE is my frustration...
Currently, in my STOCK Samsung Email app, I have the following accounts set up:
3 Gmail Accounts
1 Yahoo Account
1 Exchange work email account
Every time an email comes in on ANY of these accounts, I get an immediate notification on my watch. I can swipe, and read the entire email message. This is ALL I wanted. HOWEVER, even though in the very same stock email app, in the very same combined in-box, if I get a message specifically to my work Exchange email account, the watch ONLY displays that I have a message and to open it on the phone. It will not show ANYTHING in the email. But... the other accounts do with no problem! Why just this account, in the very same email app, with the same appearance and layout as the others??? I need this account more than anything - the others are just for fun and personal family, etc.
I did manage a temporary workaround however, but I am HOPING that you amazing folks here at XDA can give me an idea towards a solution. If I set up a MANUAL account to my work server using IMAP, our work server will allow me to only CHECK the mail, but not send. So I have no choice but to keep the existing Exchange account set up in my Samsung Mail App. However, I set up a SECOND entry in the same mail app, with my email address checking the email from my work server using IMAP and TLS. I just can't send.
Once I did that, I now receive TWO of every email from work. One in my normal inbox without a notification (turned off to avoid all the extra alerts on the phone), and the OTHER entry (IMAP) that I have labeled "Galaxy Gear Work Notifier". Now, the email WILL DISPLAY on my Watch, and I can read the whole email. But, if I pick up my phone to reply to the message, I have to switch inboxes on the mail app to the "real" Exchange one, and reply to the email.
There just has to be an easier way than this!!! I also own the Sony SmartWatch 2, but I personally don't like it as much as the Gear - but the Sony will read everything with all of the second party email notifiers out there.
Regardless that this is an Exchange account, it is coming into the very SAME STOCK SAMSUNG email application - so why do all the other email accounts display their email in full on the watch, but the one Exchange mail that comes in only says "open on phone" - what am I missing? This is driving me crazy, the fact that I can't figure this out....
I would appreciate any and all ideas VERY much - more than you know. Thank you in advance for helping and for the ideas. I appreciate it!

HELLO AGAIN guys - I have an update...
I was so pissed by all of this - mainly because I was SURE there was something that I was doing wrong, and that I couldn't figure it out.... SOOO - I called Samsung, and went to tier 3 support and spoke to an engineer (called the main support line, got to the Mobile device department, then Galaxy Gear), and they said that they were aware that the notifications with Microsoft Exchange accounts, even those set up within their stock app, were temporarily broken and would refer the user to open the mail on their phone.... but an update is being released at any time now again to the Gear which fixes this issue. By taking the Exchange authentication/security out of the loop, this is why my manually set IMAP version of the same email was working. He assured me that they received a large number of calls on this specific issue, mainly because of all the business users who rely on Exchange as their email method, using the stock mail app. So he promised this was being addressed asap. At least, I now KNOW that this was not just me, and that I was not nuts. If it's "supposed" to be broken right now, and they are addressing it, then I'm fine with that and can use my IMAP workaround for the time being...
Thanks very much everyone - have a great rest of the weekend!!!
Mike
With Gmail I see part of the message.
With exchange I use Touchdown I see who is emailing me the title of the email no message at all.
I would like to see a Gmail type of preview, with the Galaxy Gear I was out of luck can I get better email notifications from exchange?
Seen I app called something like notification expander, anybody use it?
It comes down to wear compatibility built into the app. How it delivers it is how you see it. Email is tricky cuz of html
Now on N6 coming from Note 3 I miss the touchwiz mail... Well it had an option to only get mail notifications 8-5p M-F and none on weekend. This was for exchange so I don't get company mail
The N6 mail does not have a sync scheduling option like Note 3. Is there a particular app or process that I can find 3rd party to turn sync of mail on/off automatically like listed above?

I was in the same boat coming from the Note 3. I found that gmail exchange wasn't downloading some huge emails so I tried mail wise and it worked good then I switched to cloud magic. Cloud magic is like gmail exchange and looks like gmail and unfortunately I haven't found any peak adjustments there. I didn't like mail wise interface...it didn't have a material theme.
Use maildroid and you can either modify your notifications or actual connection to the server.
@parcou, I use Nine, it's not free, but for me it's the best exchange client for android, it have that option an more, example: you can combine a peak period using push and a off peak period using pull for x minutes you choose, or off peak never get email, etc...
I thanked you all...
I will begin today trying those apps... I hate to go outside the built-in apps but I really need this function to not have company mail notification all day...
I did not know Gmail had that option when I go setup an account in Gmail only list pop/imap but since not peak time scheduling no worries any way...
Thx for feedback let me begin to test...
Check out Mail Wise. Just learned of it recently and I love it. You can set when to receive alerts etc.
