Hey everyone-
I'm pretty new and made the mistake of Deleting the operating system off of my Tmobile note 4 after rooting it. I can get into download mode and recovery but that's it.
I searched but couldn't find a comprehensive guide on what to do how to proceed. I don't want to mess it up further. Is there any way one of you could point me towards the right direction or link to the files i need to download and how to proceed.
Thanks to any and all help!
Also- I'm leaving at 3 this morning reporting for pre deployment training for my unit so im on a hugggeee time crunch to get it fixed. So any and all help as soon as you could would be amazing. Thanks again.
Also--
I found the stock 4.4 Firmware on the Samsung website and am downloading it now. Would I just load that into the Odin "pda" slot and hit start to flash it over, or am I forgetting something crucial? Thanks all!

You need to start from scratch and download the official stock Odin flash
N910T Note 4 KitKat 4.4.4 firmware, then flash it using Odin.
There is no other way to do it.
Here is a direct download link for the official Note 4 firmware:
http://tinyurl.com/k9e5bvc (this link may have a few seconds of delay)
Here is a direct download link for Odin:
http://tinyurl.com/k3pjpaw
Once you have odin flashed the official firmware re-root and flash twrp.
That's about it!
Good luck!
I'm having the exact same issue. Downloaded both odin and the firmware but when I open odin the UI flashes on my screen and then closes quickly.

I linked the wrong odin, sorry.
Here is the correct one, this zip file contains 2 files,
be sure that you unzip both files into the same folder.
Here is the download link for the proper odin files:

Thanks for sticking around to help me out, but are you sure the firmware goes in the PDA slot? Zip file selection isn't allowed to be put there.
Edit: After refreshing up on the Odin instructions I found you're supposed to use the CF AutoRoot file in the PDA slot. Things just got interesting. Not sure what to do with the firmware and the download links keep stopping for me for some reason.
EDIT2: Now I really messed up. Got impatient trying to figure out what to do and went ahead and ran Odin with just the CF AutoRoot file and it worked but I lost my recovery and now I'm in a bootloop because I still don't have an OS installed. I'm not a smart man.

Inside the zip file you will find a TAR or a TAR.MD5 file, either one is
fine to use with Odin in the PDA slot.
So unzip the zip file and put it into Odin's pda slot.
Good luck!

My sister owns this tab, and she wanted me to update its firmware from stock 2.2 (froyo) to 2.3.6 (gingerbread). I followed a guide on youtube, and I downloaded the files provided in the description tab. The flashing went smoothly, but after rebooting, the tab won't get past the samsung logo. Have I killed her tab? If I did, she'd kill me too Please help..
Additional info:
Model: GT-P1000
FCC ID: A3LGTP1000
I think she bought the tab in germany, if so then what firmware should I download?
Is it possible to just download any FW file to use for flashing? If not can anyone please direct me to the proper firmware?
I've been googling for a day..Download 2 firmwares but still no luck.. also tried wiping user data and cache.
Thanks for any help..much appreciated!
You need to restore via Odin first download Odin then head over to this link
http://allkindfile.blogspot.com/2012/07/odin-flasher-and-original-ops-pit-file.html?m=1 scroll down to the bottom and find the Samsung galaxy tab pit for the gt-p1000 after that go to this link http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and search your tablet in the search box and it should say Germany on it download that file. Boit into download mode i believe its voljme down + power. Open Odin and click pit and open the pit file you downloaded. Then click PDA and find the firmware you got from the last link. Then just hit start and you should be good to go

Thank you very much atlast someone replied!
Anyhow i downloaded the pit(s) for my device, but i got 4 pit files, (gt-p1000_mr, pit-909, pit-EUR and pit-p1) which one do i have to use?
Also i already downloaded 2 germany firmwares, one is released 2011, the other 2012. Theyre both at version 2.3.6, should i use them? or do i have to download a 2.2 froyo firmware (you said restore)
I'm really confused, but i'll try them all now. thanks very much!!!!!!

I forgot to mention did you boot into recovery and wipe data and see if you got it to boot? Often times after an update you have to boot into stock recovery and wipe cache and factory reset but if that failes just use the pit gt-p1000 and the firmware I would try froyo then if that fails to work do 2011 then if that don't work try 2012 but always use the pit file if none of these work then it means your internal sdcard gave out. Also before trying all of this try doing a factory reset in recovery and if you get errors post a screenshot of it so I get a better idea of what happened. Hope this helps
EDIT: sorry just read the part where u already did the factory reset and wipe cache was it in stock recovery? And did you get any errors?

Yes i did try factory resetting and wiping off cache data every flash/recovery i do, but it doesnt help. when i reset userdata, it always says that it cannot access "system/csc/via/something", and rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10. I know i'm doing something wrong and i just cant figure it out because there are thousands of threads here, sticky posts doesn't help..im no techie guy but im trying to deal with the situation with positive thinking.. anyway thanks for the help bud, please bear with me until i fix this off..thank you so much..

Oh I see what happened has this tablet previously been rooted or on a custom ROM? Because normally when on a custom ROM specially with our tablets the partition format changes from rfs to ext4 because its faster and more reliable. That being said what your experiencing is your tablet trying to boot but its not the right format because touch wiz only runs on rfs format. This happened to my tablet too when I tried to restore to stock and all I did was flash the pit and the stock firmware in Odin and it booted right up. Took my tablet about 20 minutes the first time to boot up though but it eventually did.

oh, is that the case? but my sister's tab isnt rooted nor had any custom roms before i flashed it. it was on stock firmware.. would it really take that long (20mins+) for a newly flashed device to boot up? approximately how long would should i keep it stuck at the samsung logo before i quit? im willing to wait hours, just for the tab to work. im gonna flash it again using 2.3.6 gingerbread firmware and a pit file using odin, and gonna let it stand until i wake up later and report the results. thank you so much!

I would say wait 20 minutes or just stare at the Samsung logo if it appears to blink and stay at the Samsung logo then your still in a boot loop BTW how did you update the tab? If you did it correctly it should have been just OTA correct? Or did you flash it manually in stock recovery?

i fixed it, finally.
i followed instructions from the Overcome Rom 4.0 tutorials by sos_sifou which is located on the samsung galaxy tab general forum.
first, i downloaded the GB-stock-safe-v5 rom, flash the pda, pit, and the phone modem.bin file. i think what my error really is was i wasn't adding a modem file. after flashing, still i got a couple of errors in recovery mode BUT after it restarted by itself, it booted right away, no 20 minute waiting time. then from there, i was really happy that i managed to fix it but i had gone for a little more. i installed overcome kernel and rom which i was glad i did, its really fast now, and really stable. instructions are easy to follow, you cant miss anything but as pre se, you have to follow everything carefully.
thanks anyway for all the help dude, i wish you also could fix your bricked tab? i read your thread a while back, good luck to you

thank you for this reply. though it came a bit late.
the device is dead!!!
if i on it now, it will only on the camera flash light as long as i hold the power button and then off the light when i release the button.
i don't know what to do.
i guess i can still get help on reviving it somehow or else i should start planning the burial .

Ok so just to clarify, I am running a SM-G900A. On baseband ending in ANG3. Towelroot does not support my device, so the above suggestion is the only way to root? And with our bootloader being locked, safetystrap is the only partial recovery we have to flash? I had just got the S5 and it came with the newer OTA update. Thank you in advance.

Yes, everything you said is correct. Flash the ND3 kernel and run towelroot. Install Safestrap as well, and then you can flash the NG3 kernel back to your phone.
Bought my S5 2 days ago with the latest Att ota update like yours. Odin the kernel back, applied towel root, Odin kernel forward to root as described above. Works perfectly. Can install safestrap after or before moving kernel forward.

Hi im having difficulty restoring my g900a back to stock. i think i found the stock firmware from zedomax and it works but im still having a problem. on his video he is extracting ONE file but when i download the att firmware there is 4 and im pretty sure i need all the fiels to be flashed. is there a way to do that? here is the file http://galaxys5root.com/galaxy-s5-stock-firmware/
when i unzip there is 4 tar files. i did the biggest one but i think im missing the bootloader, recovery ect. please help anyone ive tried different stock firmwares on xda and all of them just fail. thanks guys.
What method are you using to flash? Odin or safestrap? Do you have safestrap installed?

It might be the actual stock ROM (I didn't check that particular file you mentioned) but in general the stock ROM for this phone comes in four files which begin with the following:
AP, CP, CSC, BL
You can load those in their corresponding spots in Odin (BL in bootloader, and so on)
Or you can head over to sammobile and download the stock firmware, which is a Samsung Kies dump file. This is one giant tar ball ( like the one in the video) which you'll just load into the PDA section of Odin 3.09 and flash away.
When you're clicking on ODIN are you running it as Admin? Also see the guy in the video using a USB 2 cable.
yes i am running as admin. it only works when i only use pda. when i put in the bl and csc and cp is keeps failing. after if flashed the pda file the phone reboots and freezes on the samsung screen. should i try doing it one by one?
it wont work still failing. should i flash one by one?
I did but i cant load it. i only get to the samesung logo and it freezes. only thing i can get into is download mode and the stock recovery. is there a way to boot into safestrap when phone is off? im running out of ideas and ive tried to do it on different computers and cords.
it seems like the bootloader file is the only one not working. do you have any idea? please please please help guys

Use Odin 3.09 and flash in AP slot. Once it is done then take the OTA for NG3 then OA1

Download the G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.rar. Unzip and you should get this file "G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar.md5". Now Run Odin 3.09 as admin, and put your phone in download mode. In Odin click on the AP icon and point to the G900A_Downgrade_to_NCE.tar.md5. Wait until Odin finishes loading the file it takes some time. Plug usb cable to your phone while in download mode. Once Odin is ready click start. Wait until Odin is done. Your phone will reboot once the flash is done. Please Thank @muniz_ri for his hard work.
Yea. Prolly should have checked this forum before you went on the journey.

Now, Instead of making sarcastic comments, I will provide some assistance. There is one thing left out of all of these tutes that took me a while to catch on to. As a result, my phone was doing the same thing.
When you follow the downgrade instructions, yes leave out the boot loader. Sometimes, the downgrade doesn't do the job properly, so you'll have to go to this thread, scroll to the very bottom post and you'll see a link for "G900A_NCE_Stock_Modem"
You will need to flash this along with the stock firmware. It should correct the boot issue. (Flash in PDA slot)
Furthermore, you will not be able to update via WiFi OTA. You'll have to download the official update files in .zip format.
Go to this thread for the " G900A_NCEtoNG3_OTA.zip" to update from NCE to NG3.
This next step is optional, but it won't hurt to try it. Go here and grab the stock NG3 modem and recovery. Flash each (one at a time) in the PDA slot.
My personal opinion of the 4.4.4 update is low. There are many issues with it. But if you're trying get the phone completely up to date then:
Go here for the final update.
You should now be set. Please thank @muniz_ri for his unrelenting dedication to helping others.
It is not my intention to be an ass, but you should begin with google, and then search entire AT&T forum before posting questions like this. Chances are, others have had the same problem, asked, and received a solution exactly like this.
Anyways, I hope I was able to guide you in the right direction...
Edit: It seems that both of the update zips are in the OA1 root guide thread.
P.S.
Your phone is from AT&T, right?
I have Note 3 N900A the At&t version. It is currently on 4.4.2. Every time I tried software update. first time it says software update interrupted and then says your software is up to date check back in 24 hours. It keeps on repeating. However I want lollipop. I was thinking of flash upgrade to 5.0. Can any one please guide me in a very detailed procedure because its my first time to use an android phone. Previously I was an Iphone user. Please Help.

Thank you very much. It solved my problem. I now have android lollipop 5.0 Thank You
So i purchased a Note 4 SM-N910T about a year ago. It worked fine but last month shortly after the 5.1.1 update I did it started randomly restarting for no reason. First i taught it was Snapchat because I red somewhere that there are camera problems, so I stopped using it. But it kept restarting even after that. From then I have made a factory and a master reset, rooted the phone and even installed CM 12. No mater what i do it keeps on restarting. The only way to get it out of the boot loop is to connect it to a charger that is not a fast charger. Then it starts charging and works normally and you can do everything normally. After you remove it from the charger it works as long as you do not use it. When you start using it and want to do something with it it starts restarting again. I hope somebody can help me fix this issue. I have noticed that connecting it to WIFI makes it 100% sure that it will restart any moment. If you leave it without WIFI as long as you do not do anything big it will not restart. For example I watched series on my phone I downloaded beforehand. I was able to go to the CM 12 file manager and change series for the duration of my bus drive and it has not reset yet and it has not been connected to a charger for around 12 hours already.
My last resort is to wait 3 hours for the stupid free 5.0.1 official firmware and flash it using the TWRP Recovery or Odin. If that does not work I would have t give it to a service. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Also a link to where I can download the 5.0.1 official firmware for free in normal speed will be of greatly appreciated as well!
Merry Christmas!
That's odd, I recommend odin flashing the stock ROM and everything. (Modem + bootloader) the latest one is DOK2 for T-Mobile

To revive the thread I tried flashing the N910TUVU2DOK2_N910TTMB2DOK2_N910TUVU2DOK2_HOME.tar via Odin. It all went fine and after starting the phone it went on to the step where its optimizing apps. It got stuck there and it went back to the boot loop. I had reflash the CM 12 and TWRP Recovery and now I am back at 0. So my question is how should I flash the stock rom. Go to TWRP do a factory reset than turn the phone off and flash the stock rom via Odin? Should I also flash TWRP ans SuperSu after flashing the stock rom?
Thank you for your help!
I've been having the same problem for about a week and a half; it's super annoying. I was running Dynamic Pop on COG2 then yesterday I updated to DOK2 and flashed Maximum Overdrive... no improvement. It rarely even fully boots before freezing or rebooting.
My best guess as to what the problem is that it may be overheating because it tends to actually boot if I put it in the freezer while booting, but then it freezes soon after taking it out. I suppose it could also be internal memory corruption.
Either way, I'm getting ready to do a warranty exchange.

First focus on getting a clean stock firmware booted. Do what you mentioned above but don't flash TWRP or superSu until the stock ROM is stable. We need to narrow down the issues so do as few modifications as possible.

You may have messed up the partitions. There is a thread about the pit file you should check out.

I actually downloaded 2 stock roms for my Note 4. One was the COG2 and the other one was the completely stock firmware. I tried flashing them but Odin failed (Auth) whatever that means. The only stock rom I was able to flash was 5.1.1 but it wouldn't boot up so I had to install CM 12 again! I have no idea how to fix the phone. All I want is to return to 5.0.1 and delete any changes. The phone has no apps on it so i have nothing to loose but I do not know how to do it..

You cannot use 5.0.1 ROMs on DOK2 they will never boot and no down grading. You have to use 5.1.1 ROMs for now on.

This is exactly what is happening to my T-Mobile Note 4 (SM-N910T) and the thing that you did to your Canadian Note 4 is exactly what I want to do. But can I use the firmware you provided at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/ref-stock-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2920452
or must I use the T-Mobile ones and if I have to use the N910T firmware where can I get it so I can do what you did? A link or a thread would be amazing cause I really miss using my phone as normal!
