Hello,
So my HTC is rooted and the bootloader is unlocked and I had a custom GPE rom on it. Everything was working fine for a long time. (S-ON btw)
So today I started experiencing problems with my HTC one. First off was that my device wouldn't follow my settings for auto-rotation of the screen. I wanted the screen orientation locked and it didn't want to listen. Then all of the sudden, I couldn't charge my phone when it was on. I could only charge it when in the boot loader menu. When I try to charge it when its off it shows that it is charging and then stops and glitches, then shows that it is charging again.
When I was connecting it earlier to my pc it was saying usb hardware malfunction (when my phone was off and I was trying to charge it).
I have tried a factory reset and it didn't help. Then I tried to put a new rom on the device and I wanted to use TWRP so I used fastboot usb to flash twrp. After I got the new rom on, charging still doesnt work. I can completely use the phone except I can't charge it while on.
What should I do?
Thanks,
Brent
EDIT: I can now use fastboot USB
I am now flashing a new GPE RUU to the device. I managed to get it to S-OFF. I hope this will fix the problem.
EDIT: It didn't fix the problem. I can still only charge my phone when its in fastboot usb mode. It also charges really slow. Everything else is fine though.
Hi, i own a sony xperia sp and have a big problem: my phone works perfectly only when connected to usb or charge.
When the phone is off and i try to turn it up it will boot to OS only if the battery is at 100%. if it's not 100% the phone will try to boot but will crash at some point.
but as said before if i power it up while connected to usb or charge the phone will boot normally and will work fine. by the way even if i can boot, when i disconnect the cable the phone will crash and shut down after some time.
i' ve checked the battery status and it says Good, no need to replace it. uAh: 2367000.
i've tried to wipe data, upgrade\downgrade firmware but nothing worked.
May someone help me with this?

My guess : Kernel problem if its not a kernel thing then your hardware has problems
Hello everyone.
I have a few strange problems with my M7. I have stock Android 4.4.3, firmware number is: 6.14.206.2 (O2 brand). I have unlocked bootloader and CWM Recovery. And that's all.
When OS is loaded and runs normally, phone don't want to charge. I tried diffrent chargers and cables. Nothing. Also M7 don't want to connect with PC/Laptop/Mac to mass storage and also nothing happens with charging. Phone is not visible to the charger and PC. I don't know where is the problem.
But when battery is low and device is shut down - phone start to charging when I plug the charger/connect to PC. But there is also a strange thing. Phone boot up to the battery image and shows charging about ~10 seconds and phone load a CWM recovery. And this cycle goin to the never ending story...
Fastboot, Bootloader mode and Recovery works at all and computer see the device, lmao... So this isn't a problem with USB socket in phone. Phone never had a contact with water and any other liquid.
I tried factory reset, wipe everything in CWM. And no success at all.
Please help me.
Hi guys
I have pretty similar problem to the one described many times at xda, but...
None of mentioned solutions works... or I do sth wrong - if so, please enlight me.
I have:unlocked bootloader access to flashmode only for a minute or two bootloop with stock kernelWhat i have done?:-flashed custom kernel at recovery
-tried to rom, but sth stopped it or slowed it down, and when battery got low - phone rebooted with bootloop
-googled some posts about it - found out that maybe leaving phone with dc charger will charge my z1 despite it constantly trying to boot - done it over whole night
-in the morning boot up recovery and TWRP showed me that my battery was 1%.... -.-
-found somewhere that i should flash stock kernel and leave it with dc charger in... done it by charging a bit from usb.... (connected with VOL- -> red led for a while -> flashtool recognised as flashmode -> managed to flash stock kernel)
-its still bootlooping (just with different logo) and i cant charge enough to flash whole stock FTF...
My question is... how to charge it...?
leaving it constantly bootlooping doesnt work (tried whole night)...
trough usb it charging to some point, then bootloops as if it was dc charger....
cant find got wo charge maybe trough fastboot mode... Maybe you guys know how....
Please help
hi my m7 (att) started doing this annoying thing today, i go to power it on and itll load just past the kernel splash screen and then turn off, but works fine if connected to a charger, also can access bootloader without charger, my specs are below if that helps:
Rom: cm 12.1 latest nightly (as of post)
Kernel: stock cm 12.1
S-on/off: on
tampered displayed in bootloader: yes
Recovery: TWRP 2.8.6.0 (stock theme)
Gapps package: minimal (only play store)
what i've tried:
factory reset
re-install rom
clean flash rom
wipe cache
wipe sdcard
holding power+vol up and down for 2minutes and letting it charge fully
taking off back cover and reseating connections
what i haven't tried:
fastboot flashing boot.img
anything else that you guys may come up with that hasn't been listed
please help this is my only (semi-current) working (previously) phone, i just need a temp fix till my Oneplus One comes in (at the least)
anyone got any ideas?
currently working on turning s-off and just tried flashing boot.img via fastboot so far no good
new discovery, it seems to be partial to 2.1 amp+ chargers
ok i've decided that it is the battery going, based off of the fact that it load bootloader mode (very low power consumption) and only turns on with 2.1 amp chargers i feel tells me that the battery has gone or is very close to it, i will be ordering new one soon and will post back my findings
