GSM on Virgin Mobile Desire 510 LTE - HTC Desire 510

Hi Folks,
Think I know the answer to this already, but just in case...
Can I use the Desire 510 LTE from Virgin Mobile on AT&T/Rogers GSM?
I'm guessing "NO".
Correct?
Thanks,
Matt

I have the same question. I heard that all version's 510 has the same hardware. So I am just wondering if there's a similar app like "sprint sim unlock helper", which is used to unlock sprint's htc one, to help unlock 510.

I'm pretty clueless about phones and what networks they work on and all that.
Is it possible to use this phone on Verizon? It seems to be much better than my old Droid X I am still using...

pageplus (verizon mvno) is possible after flash. you can't use it on verizon since the imei is not in their database.

Quick Question - Unlocking

Hi I'm considering purchasing the Nexus One and selling my HTC HD2 T-Mo edition for one. I would like to know, can I unlock a T-Mobile version to work with AT&T 3G?
I'm hoping to be able to use 3G on both carriers, is this possible?
No, not possible.

The Nexus One is unlocked by default but because of hardware limits you can't use 3g on AT&T with a t-mo version and viseversa.
Cliffnotes - NO
search is your friend. and this is also as obvious as balls

What variant of the One is used by Cincinnati Bell?

Just to clarify, what do you mean by you "unlocked" it. How did you do this? I'm pretty sure the only way to unlock our Ones is by going through sprint. Also if you do use it on ATT you won't get LTE because they have different LTE bands than sprint.

i unlocked it through a sprint all in one kit, maybe this was just for rooting it, but anyway I was justtrying to figure out if there was a wat to get my htc one on att, I'm not worried about the lte.

Ok, if you used the All In One toolkit then yes you are just rooted. To get your phone unlocked you will have to directly contact sprint!
Note also that in the US, depending on the location, AT&T operates on some combination of two 3G bands and two 4G bands. Of these four hi-speed data bands, the Sprint HTC One variant only supports one band. Therefore, even if you get the phone unlocked and working on AT&T, its data performance may not be all that great.

[Q] Use in Europe

Hi all. If I purchase one of Moto X Sprint, ATT, Verizon
version, can I use it on our Europe network regarding
SIM lock?
Sorry I'm rookie about Moto X, I use so far other Moto Droid2 and Droid4 only.
Att you have to Sim unlock but its pretty easy to find some place online to do it for $10-15
The verizon and t mobile ones come unlocked.
Sprint and us cellular ones I think you have to be a customer to unlock so not easy to do.
You could also get some of the pre unlocked Latin ones.

I got the GSM Dev Edition to use in Europe. No trouble on Three. It came sim unlocked so I just popped the sim in and used it directly.

I bought the Moto X one or two weeks after it was launched, I'm in Egypt it was sim unlocked however I know that all carriers except ATT and maybe Sprint can be officially unlocked.
I rooted it installed several firmwares, now I'm using ATT 4.4 leak, It's perfect.
Our N/W here is GSM same like Europe.

Surely you just check the bands on the network your trying to use it on. Look up your networks bands.
I checked before I bought, 2100 is supported by the phone and I'm using 2100 without issue.

Hi there, I'm posting here because it's nearly the same question but I'd like to be as sure as possible
I'm looking for this device, 'cause I really like it! The problem is that I live in Italy, and, as everyone, I want to be sure it will work here!
Reading other topics, I've seen that it all depend on the band it's used in my country.
As you che see here (http ://allworldcellphones.com/gsm-frequencies-list. htm), Italy use the GSM 900/1800 frequancies and it should be fine for this phone (or am I wrong?).
Now, if so, what does it actually means? If the frequencies match, does it means that I'll be able to call, send sms, use 2G/3G/4G or there are more parameters I need to check?
And second question: I really like the Moto Make idea! Is there any way to personalize my device and get it shipped to me? Because, if I'm not wrong, Motorola only ships to USA..
Thanks for reading (and, possibly, helping) and sorry for horror typo!

Sprint doesn't have 900 3G band used in Europe, only ATT has band 7 4G, all other models don't get 4G in Europe, only 3G. Check, not sure if I am right here. My GS4 has all 3G and 4G bands for USA T-Mobile and Europe

GSM 900/1800 that's for 2G. All MotoX support that. Then you have to match 3G, and then 4G bands.
Looks like ATT is the best model for Europe but its also SIM and bootloader locked! Next in line is T-Mobile, followed by Verizon, both have same 2G and 3G bands, no 4G for Europe, SIM unlocked, but Verizon has bootloader locked

First of all, thanks for answering
Then, don't you think that the developer edition (GSM) could be a good option? For what I heard, with that I should be only missing the 4G network, wich would be unavaible anyway, wichever brand I choose..
Or am I wrong?
The other plus il that I wouldn't lose the warranty in case of modding..!

Its the same principal. And also, the title of your thread is asking for a CDMA unlock.
(Sprint) is in the title. Sprint is CDMA, Cricket is the only GSM. Since you were asking for Sprint, everyone naturally assumes you are wanting CDMA, since Sprint and GSM don't make sense, and that you probably know more about he name of your provider, than you know about the difference between CDMA and GSM.
Thread cleaned. Everyone play nice and don't call each other names.
Have a nice day,

Because you have to CDMA unlock to use on GSM. Youll also need a new radio.

Your question was answered correctly. YOU didn't understand THEM.
To clarify, there is NO TRUE GSM UNLOCK FOR CDMA (ie Sprint/Boost/Virgin) DEVICES. The only way to get an unlock code from your carrier (Sprint) is to have an account in good standing with this device for 1 year. THAT is all.
Mods, could we get a closure on this thread now please?
Actually dragonhart6505 the poster is correct - the HTC Desire 510 is in fact GSM capable as well as CDMA - HOWEVER it is CDMA locked to Sprint and it seems that some of the unlocking software to allow to recognize and ask for an unlock code is not on the devise so it remains as a locked to Sprint device even though it does in fact have the GSM radio ability if you can figure out how to unlock it. I believe that is what jkjambo is asking

Actually @DragonHeart6505 is right. I'm using a CDMA device and I've been in good standing with an account open for well over 4 years and I'm also in the Military and that means when I ask for a device to be sim unlocked or carrier unlocked whatever you want to call it I've always got them unlocked right away now with the CDMA version of the HTC Desire 510 I'm telling you it's IMPOSSIBLE to unlock I've sat on the phone for hours with tier3 customer service and it cannot be done but if you want to keep trying good luck I warned you.
Don't try it
I tried to search very hard on this.
basically, HTC has signed bootloader. you needed to break that first.. which you can;t do without sophisticated tools.
If you even try that.. you will endup in bricking your device.
I managed to brick and get it again working with lot of hours spent on same device but radios are near to impossible to update if you really don;t know how to do that.. I managed to recover to get CDMA working not GSM.. unless you are developer and ready to throw this device for this attempt.. you are welcome to check the development thread for this device and I am sure you will find the way to enable GSM frequency bands for this device.
** Don't Try it if you are not equipped with required knowledge.
