[Q] How do I extract files from ROM?

Is it possible to extract an APK from a ROM File?
If i take the JM5 ROM, I can unRar it and then I can unTar the md5 file that is the ROM - but from there I just get a bunch of system files that I assume are images of partitions. The big one is the factoryfs.rfs - is there a way to pull an apk out of here, or do i have to install on a device first and save the APKs i want?

Fastboot 902 Files

Is anybody aware of a Mirror that is hosting the .902 sbf files? The files on this forum (and others I've scoured) link to a FileServe file that only allows the original owner to download the file. I dont want to begin flashing anything until I have that file. Thanks!

Missing /preinstall file(s)

I'm trying to load .206 on my phone using the recovery menu. My guess is that when it gets to verifying some of the 3gp video's in /preinstall/KnowYourDevice that it plans to patch I'm missing some. I was able to find a few of them from another dump but I can't locate Motorola_XT894_UsingYourDevice.3gp and I might need Motorola_XT894_WiFiSetup.3gp as well. If anyone could put me to which stock rom has those I can handle it from there. Thanks.

Are you coming from gingerbread 6.13.219 or .215? Did you update to ICS with the .200 zip? Provide more info to see where I can help

[DEV] N8000XXCMC5. Not a flashable rom.

Here is the new XXCMC5 Rom for Germany. I will be using this in the new Redemption. But figured I would share it with everyone if they wanted to use it. This is just the base rom and boot.img and modem.bin from the Firmware. I just extracted from the firmware and Deodexed it completeley. Other than that is it completely untouched. Please feel free to use at your discrection.

I will not be making a stock image of this rom nor will I be making any changes to this zip. And once again this is not flashable, it is just the system folder, boot.img, and modem zipped up in one package.

Looking for ROM

Hello everyone! I am looking for the latest ROM of the chromecast. I don't mind if its just one big .img file with all of the partitions on it or if its separated .img files (recovery.img, system.img etc.). If anyone has it, can you please send it to me? Thanks!
