You can unroot anytime.
Sent from my GT-S5830 using xda premium
I had this problem with one zip file.. Don't remember through which one I successfully rooted.I'll be back in a bit.
Do you have stock recovery or already CWM..? cause you know if you flash clockworkmod first then you cant root through it.. you just have to go back to stock recovery --> root --> and then back to CWM. Of course if you HAVE stock recovery now then I dont know.
Try the other zip file -Ace Gingerroot...i guess you found this files at android flip.com so youll find this ither file over there ...cheers p.s. That update.zip dindt work for me too but thr other one did
Edit: u gotta download cwm 4 or 5 (i prefer 5) to b able to root..ull find these files and tutorials here in xda or at androidflip.com....just google it..
P.s. I m not a marketing agent of androidflip.com...i just like thei r work XD

well i dont know anything about what you said in the terms haha.
i am a noob just bought the new device and went to youtube. saw the upd_1
file and did as per instructions.
Also its very annoying to go in recovery mode. i mean i press middle button and
then power up but it just starts normally. i do 20-30 restarts and by fluke once
it gets into recovery mode lol. what am i doing wrong?
just cant get into recovery mode at one shot.
I have downloaded root.zip file from xda developer.will it work?
First press thehome button --keep it pressed and then press the power button till screen comes on..u should be in recovery mode...if u r new to android i suggest u do some research on rooting-pros and cons ..some good ones can be found at androidpolice.com....and never mess with rom.manager or flash wrong cwm recovery on your phone--YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE !!!!!

One more thing on stock recovery u dont get into recovery mode at one shot...i guess samsung dont want users to mess up their phones ..its ok to try 5 times..25 times is a lmfao XD XDX DX DXD

[Q] Unable to turn on phone whatsoever

Hi.
Yesterday I successfully rooted my Galaxy Ace using SuperOneClick.
I mainly did this because I wanted to try the MIUI ROM.
I downloaded the MIUI files onto my SD card, and was set to go. But when I flashed the ClockworkMod Recovery on my phone, it won't restart after I turned it off.
I'm supposed to hold down the Power button and Home button simultaneously to boot the phone, but it simply won't start.
Does anyone else share this problem, or know another way to manufactory reset my phone?
dryxo
What is ur ace? S5830?
I used to kill Majins
but now,IM BUSY KILLING NOOBS
That's right, GT-S5830. Any clue?
You didnt by any chance unzip the files and then put them on the sd card, did u?
You flashed correct version of cwm?
Version 5.0.2.6 is latest for ace. Recovery is needed in order to flash anything. If no recovery, you need to flash with odin.
Sent from my Ace S
King ACE, I might have. I put the zip file on there a moment later, but might have forgot to delete the unzipped ones.

Where did you read that from? Unzipped files cant do anything to the rom run, because they matter only when the rom is being flashed. After that, what lies of the sd card it not a matter for system.I had this consumption when i was a noob too

Just successfully flashed OUDHS CWM-based Recovery 1.0.3.0 successfully...haven't tried much of the functionality until I fix my phone from the bootloop I put it in.
Something I did notice while navigating around the menu using my volume keys was that the screen was only refreshing every other keypress. I know that the state of the program was changing but the screen was only redrawing every other input.

I had the same problem as the guy above and tried the test 3 tar and it fixes the screen but no touch function.
also just tried CWM recovery and it was only letting me go to every other selection then rebooted all on its own.

confirmed test 3 did not fix the touch screen issue. cwm will sometimes double click and is tricky to navigate with the graphics issue but functions normally otherwise. did a full wipe and restore booted fine both times with no permissions issues. this was garwyns version btw.

Stuck in Twrp

Hi, I added a new theme for the latest Nova Twrp. When I rebooted into recovery the theme was too big for the screen so some buttons are "missing".
This means I cant reboot into sysytem or power off. I take the battery out and it just boots into recovery.
Could anyone help please. Thank you.
Is twrp too big to install cm rom again or how about downlod the original twrp from PC or laptop get SD card into pc if any of then you can not do download cm but not the twrp , get the odin one and put phone into download mode by holding volune button down whilst holding the power and front panel button down . put cm file into Odin and it will reinstall cm and twrp . hope it helps . reply for any more help

Long press on the power button will get you out of recovery and restart your phone. With your phone on, connect to PC and delete the theme folder for twrp that you created (you would of created one to be able to theme it). Unplug, power into recovery, no theme!!

Thanks for the replies. Ive tried long press on power. It doesnt work. I dont have access to a pc until tomorow(Im using my chromebook at the moment) Deleting the themes folder was going to be the first thing I was going to do. Can I access the files on the phone from pc when the phone is off or in download mode? If not I will flash recovery with odin. Thanks for the help once again.
No you can't. What you could do is download cwm (Odin) to your external SD card put it back in your phone install (assuming the install button is accessible from twrp..) Cwm n bobs your uncle

I cant do ANYTHING in recovery. I think I will flash twrp with odin. If it still doesn't work ill flash cwm touch.

If you flash twrp it won't work as the theme folder will still be there! Best go for cwm
Sent from my GT-I8190N running SlimKat
Yeah I was wondering about that. I'll try cwm. All I need is the stupid thing to boot normally, then I can use root explorer to delete the damn theme folder. Thanks for the help

One more question guys. I assume when I flash cwm it will be the default recovery? Also after flashing with odin will the phone boot normally and not into recovery. If it boots normally then I could just flash twrp and then delete the theme folder. I hope im making sense.
Cheers
Flash cwm, the phone should boot normally that is assuming you already have a rom installed? If so boot up then delete the theme folder then you can then flash twrp.

Yeah I have a rom installed. That advice sounds good. Ill let you know how I got on.
Thanks again

Hi There,
Bro You dont neeed to go to Download Mode to install CWM. Download mode is used to Unbrick/Unroot Galaxy Ace To stock using odin. To Install CWM You need to go to Recovery Mode.
In Galaxy Ace you go to Recovery Mode by Holding Home/Back button and Power On Button. And keep them holding until you see the samsung logo on samsung logo leave the Power on but dont leave the Home until it takes you to the Recovery.
If you want to flash a custom recovery see my thread.
Good Luck.
