I'm not gonna ask any questions about why batteries drop so fast because i figured that out. Now my battery's draining 1.5%/hour on idle. That's good. The problem is whenever I use my phone continuously for an hour or so, there would be a major significant battery drop when I reboot it. I tried waiting for the battery to recalibrate but it doesn't. Not to mention an average use would eat my battery by 10%/hour or more. Other than that, whenever I let my phone on idle until it's at 40-30%, the battery level suddenly goes to 1% when I use it and my phone would shut down.
I am using Greenify donation version, and Amplify.

Sir,
You have already pointed in 2 other thread by me and my colleague @Darth and now you must know where to ask such a questions.
Please, for last time, wait for mods to move this thread in the right device forum.

I have same problem. Well, not exactly the same, but similar
When I reboot my phone, my battery drop about 25%-40%. For example, it drops from 40% to 15%. After that, my battery drains normally to 1%(for example after 1 hour of SoT) and that last 1% last for 1.5-2 hours of SoT It's so crazy
I also have a Xperia V
I have the same problem and when I run the camera app it reboot

I know right? Any luck on finding any solutions? I'm about to post my battery stats at the Battery Life Help page ans see if they can help out

Hello,
I was wondering if i did something wrong when flashing, I flashed me phone yesterday, love the rom, but the battery life stinks, today I have been off the charger for 3 hrs, 1 20 min phone call and check download my email and my battery is at 73%. This morning before I unplugged my charger I went into oxdin and removed battery stats to see if that helped, any advise would be helpful, I did flash to stock with oden3 one click and I had 85% battery and plugged in charging when I flashed to this rom. I want to keep this rom as it is super fast and no issues found other than the battery
Thanks in advance for any help
Tonyzz
I would give it another day or so. It can take it a little while for the battery to settle in. if that doesn't work you could try flashing another kernel or modem.
Just a few opinions...

yes like the previous post
you have wait for few days cz it takes tym recalibrate battery stats. couple of charges and discharges will fix the battery drain
Thank you,
I'll give it a few days and see if it fixes itself, this is the best rom I have tried and would hate to have to change as everything with it is how I would do it if I had a clue how to custom a rom
Thanks
Tony
Like the others have said give it a few days, my battery life VASTLY improved after 3 discharge cycles. Also, another thing to check is the cell standby and make sure that you're not having the 50% time without signal bug. I had that this morning and it drained 20% in barely over an hour.
There's not a single thread out there that has helped me with my damn battery life that I've been able to find. I'm sick of hearing, "did you search first?" Yes, I searched first. I didn't find anything that helped, that's why I made a new thread.
Anyways, I've tried apps, widgets, calibrating, deleting batterystats.bin, flashing different roms, kernels, modems, and even a new battery. Not a single thing has made my phone last through the day, and it's getting to the point where I'm about to flash back to stock, and forget about it. I need to be able to use it when I need it, not put it back in my pocket because I'm afraid of draining the battery. Honestly I'm not sure if the battery issue is rom related, so If that doesn't work, I may just get a different phone. I need to not have to charge my phone every 6 hours. Does anyone have any idea how to improve battery life on this freakin' thing? 6-7 hours on light usage is not enough. To put it in to perspective, I get 10-15% battery drain in STANDBY per hour. Serendipity 6.4 was a little better than 7, but not much. still within that 6-7 hour range. Is there anything else I can try? Anything at all? I went from 7 back to 6.4 because I thought Android System was draining my battery, but it didn't really do anything. I'm open to everything at this point. Voodoo, cult magic, anything.
Edit: reading through my message, I wanted to clarify that I am very grateful for your help, I hope I didn't imply otherwise.
Serendipity 6.4
Baseband version I9000UGJK4
Kernel Version 2.6.32.9

I don't know what that is heh
Have you tried Juicedefender? It's helped me immensely. Other than that, I could suggest getting an extended battery, if you're willing to cope with a lumpy cappy. I'm too noob to know how to fix this problem other than by using the brute force route, but it's worth a shot.

Yeah, with gingerbread roms I've heard it's fairly common for you to have high usage from android system. Check that?

Well, battery usage shows just about nothing... I was using 6.4 but after it did nothing for my battery life, I went back to 7. Now the android system thing is back but I'm getting the same battery life.
Here's what it shows under battery usage for today:
Display 29%
Android System 25%
Android OS 10%
Google Services 7%
Cell Standby 6%
Fancy Widget 4%
Handcent SMS 3%
Battery Graph 2%
Phone Idle 2%
JuiceDefender 2%
Dialer 1%
and that's it.
if you start seeing android system and android os that high, shut down, yank battery and let it sit for a few minutes. then replace and start up. should help with that and improve battery life.

The problem is, I'd be doing that every 15 minutes. It boots up already taking up more than 10%. I just did exactly what you said, and it booted at 23% for system and 3% for os.

It's reporting roughly 38% deep sleep. 21% in 1000mhz, 3% for 800, 2% for 400, 2% for 200, and 32% for 100.

flashed cyanogenmod 7, and turned off mobile data and wifi and just left it on idle for like 2 hours after resetting the batterystats.bin and rebooting... i uninstalled juicedefender because it was actually USING batter... *shrug* and left it that way... well, I opened battery left and looked at it and saw that it would die at like 5am... well, i was disappointed... until I noticed it was 5am, 26 hours from now. That's notibly longer than any battery left stat I've seen since I started noting battery issues... So... Yeah. I think I'll stick with CM7 for a while hehe. After I get an idle benchmark, I'll start using it more. Thank you for your help.
do you live in a poor 3g area?
the problem could be that the phone is constantly looking for a good connection and cant find one, causing massive battery drain

I was just going to say the same thing. If your phone is constantly trying to establish a connection, is alway searching, it's using up lots of juice. Same if you've got gps enable or wifi on. If it's looking, it's active and battery's being used.
Another thing you can try which helped me is to call art and get another free battery if your phone is still under warranty. The new battery I have seems to last almost twice as long as my old one. Of course make sure that the android os isn't eating the battery and mine last a while. Just a suggestion.

So I bought this phone 2 days ago and it's running Android 4.0.3 (LG Software v10e).. It's new, untouched, came out of box... Its battery drains unbelievably fast, with screen on, it drains 1% every 2-3 minutes and on standby it drains like 3-5% an hour. I did a lot of searching here on this forum before making this thread after I couldn't find a suitable solution nor any info about Android 4.1 upgrade. I installed "Battery saver" like 20 minutes ago and it seems to be doing better on standby now, no drainage so far in 20 minutes... I wanna know if it's worth upgrading to 4.1? I've seen a lot of negative feedback about it on other forums... How do I improve battery life on my phone without rooting it?
Any help would be highly appreciated, thanks

I got the same quesition!
If u are not going to root it to remove some bloatware from Jb 4.1.2 just dont upgrade. Its not worth it.

On every custom rom i've got baseband_xmm_power wakelock loosing 50% battery so something is very wrong. It isn't just bloatware problem. I've got this on clean CM.
Get v20B mostly no wakelocks for me.

My battery drain from 100 percent to 1 percent after 1 day usage with 6 hours on screen time. Please help. Oh wait batteries normally go down when in use.
Yeah, i'm still a bit neurotic with this :silly:
it depends, what are you doing with active screen? when i play coc my battery goes down fast.

Doesn't matter what he is doing. He cannot calculate the right consume of the battery just by see how long it go down 4%. The system did not set up properly yet and maybe he using at the same time, WiFi, Bluetooth and so on.
This thread is useless as there thousand out there.

You will need to see a complete cycle before you can assume that you have battery drain, like how much it goes down if left overnight, I personally only lose 1 - 2% overnight which is about right. But the second you fire up a game it will munch you battery, same as can be said for Wifi when downloading or setting up your phone, so if this is the first time you've used the handset, it's more than likely a little premature to say what your battery life is going to be like, give it a week and then see where your average 100% battery charge gets you, by all accounts a day and a half to two days is quite normal according to some users on XDA, but then that would depend on the user.
One thing I did find with the Z1 was that when gaming the average battery use is little higher than I was used to with previous phones.
You could try underclock your processor (I have clocked my processor at 1.5 Ghz) it will save you some battery. In addition you could try undervoltage but you must be extremely careful with voltages as very low could unstable your phone and very high can fry your phone (if you are newbie do not try it ).
These are some ideas it is your choice if you follow any of them not mine.

Not as bad as your phone shutting down at 20% while you're playing that online game, using a navigation app with no car charger or while you're talking to someone...
I believe most people here don't let the battery drop to 1% that often, but sometimes it's inevitable... When it does, the least I expect it to know exactly how much % I have left...
So yeah, I'm happy when I can check the real battery stats...
