I have a new HTC M8 form Sprint (it's the boss's phone) and since last night the phone will not boot. It is on the stock rom, not rooted and boot loader is locked. The phone won't HBoot, Fastboot or enter recovery (get the phone with the red triangle). Any ideas or help is appreciated.
What where you trying to do?
From your description it sounds like a brick.
If you can get into bootloader you could try to enter fastboot flash recovery recovery.img or put the recovery.img in a zip with correct android.txt zip it and name zip 0P6BIMG.zip and put that in root of external sdcard and boot to bootloader.
He wasn't attempting to do anything. The phone was on the charger overnight. Not sure if there was an update the was downloaded and installed overnight. Bu, as of right now it seems to be "bricked".
From the screen with the red triangle, what happens if you hold the power button down? Does it reboot? If so, when the screen goes black, try holding the volume down button and see if it will go into the bootloader. If so, you can try to RUU.

Shouldnt it be you hold volume up+ power it should reboot you, then volume down +power to boot to bootloader? I assume the same since it shows the default recovery (no ROM installed image)
I can't remember about the rebooting part. I know for a fact that if I reboot my phone I can hold volume down to get into bootloader once the screen goes black. I was stuck in the stock recovery the other day and can't recall offhand how I got it to reboot.

Hey, this is my first post, and i come with a big issue with my HTC One. It's work like a charm, until this evening.
I already flashed two ROM, ARHD 8, 8.1 and 9, without problem, but when i tried to flash 9.1, AROMA freeze. So, no whories, i juste reboot my phone with "adb reboot-bootloader" and did a "fastboot erase cache" and try again. AROMA freeze antoher time (without touching the screen), bad luck i can"t reboot with holding power button. So, again, "adb reboot" (without bootloader this time, it sliped my ming...) and there, it's stock at :
And holding power button don't work (i tried to hold him for 10 minutes...). I tried with adb or fastboot... device not found (logical).
I don't know what to do next, any idea ?
PS : sorry for my bad english, i hope you understand me ^_^
PPS : can't add a link to my photo of the bootscreen, but it's stucked.

you should be fine if the device powers on.
try this download all in one toolkit and erase cache then install custom recovery and boot to recovery and try to flash the rom again in the newly installed recovery

when you boot into bootloader you have to press the power button once. you will then see fastboot usb at the top of bootloader menu then run the commands. it should see your device after that
The thing is, i can't go in the bootloader
(if i try to hold on power + vol down, i have capacitive button who are blinking (normal) but i can hold them about 10 minutes, but nothing happen)

then you have to wait for it to die again then charge. after it charges for a while unplug it turn it on and boot to fastboot and do what i said before.
if your using a touch recovery and flashing a rom that uses aroma only use the hardware buttons(dont touch the screen at all). let it sit on the aroma start screen for at least 5secs. and charge your device enough so you can unplug before you start aroma

Yes, i access to the bootloader. I erase the cache, and wait a bit for resend a recovery (he don't want to write it now, because of low battery)
good. you shouldnt have a problem from here as long as you flashing a zip file thats proven to work for your device
It's possible to send a file from fastboot mode ?
Nevermind, found how to do (thank the manuel ^^)

Hello. I installed the TWRP 2.5 to get s-off, and finally got inside it. Now I have a really big problem, as the TWRP doesn't let me click (touch) on the phone. In other words, the touch is not responding. I'm stucked in the lock screen of the TWRP that says "swipe to unlock". It doesn't let me restart the phone... any ideas to solve it? If only the battery was removable...:crying:
thanks.

yea that would happen to me too with 2.6.0.0. hitting the back button will let you unlock but it will then ask to swipe to unlock for anything else. try to start to hold power button at the lock screen hit the back button and unlock and see if it turns off after 30 seconds.

yea when it runs out of battery and you let it charge a bit you should be able to turn it back on normally (as long as you have a working system) or to bootloader. i would recommend replacing the recovery first though

When I tell the phone to boot into recovery I get the android guy on his side with the red triangle. I can still hold the power button to reboot into the phone and it works fine. However any time I try to go into recovery it's back to the red triangle. I have tried wiping cache via adb as well.
I searched google and the forums and am still stuck.
I believe with stock recovery you have to press power + volume up for a moment, then release them simultaneously and it bypasses the red triangle.
Been a while since I have owned a non-Nexus... not sure if that is a Nexus-only thing.

i didn't stay on stock recovery for long, but I dont remember that.
In either case while looking at the android guy on his side with the red triangle neither power+dwn or power+up do anything. If I hold it too long eventually the phone restarts.

Ah ha! You are a genius. Power + both volume buttons worked (or I have fat fingers)!
Since I *assumed* something was jacked up I didn't search for "how to enter recovery when everything is working right" my bad
thanks!!!!!!!

You enter bootloader mode by pressing Volume Down + Power, holding for about 3 seconds and then releasing.
Then you boot into recovery by pressing Volume Down to highlight Recovery and then Volume Up to select Recovery.

Yep. It was being in stock recovery and seeing the sideways android with the red triangle that was confusing me. I didn't realize another key combination was required to get past that.

Ah, yes, you do need to do more to get into stock recovery. I didn't realize it myself since I have mostly been using my Dev Ed in custom recovery.
I'm stuck at the white boot screen with the green htc logo, the red dev text, and the word android on top of the red text.
I just unrooted and went back to stock using the latest ruu.
I'm unlocked and s-off.
I wanted to put on a recovery for it but when I did, the red text about the build being for dev purposes showed up.
I thought flashing the stock boot img would fix that.
It didn't. I can't reboot out, turn off the phone, get to bootloader or recovery, or anything.
Adb and fastboot can't see the phone is connected cause it's at the boot screen.
I tried holding Vol Up and Power for a minute and then tried shining a light on the front camera for a couple of minutes.
Is there any hope to fix this?

the red text is normal after flashing a custom recovery, the other stuff might be you flashed the wrong recovery for your phone, I don't know what phone you have or what recovery you flashed, if it's a sprint phone it should be for m7wls.did you flash superuser after the recovery.to gain root

I have a sprint htc one m7. I flashed philz for this phone and it worked fine. So the problem was that I flashed the stock boot image on fastboot and for some reason, it got stuck on the boot screen when I tried booting in and I don't have a way of getting out of that boot screen. So far, i'm thinking that I might have to wait for the phone to run out of power and die so it can be off then charge it up and see if I can get into bootloader. But I was hoping there would be another way of getting out of boot screen.

I used the flashlight from my other phone on it but it blinks as long as I hold it down, it doesn't seem to stop. And no, the screen doesn't turn off, it's still the same boot screen.
EDIT- It probably was the damn light lol. I happened to plug in the One to the charger and there was a lamp next to it, so I put it under that and held the power and volume down key and the screen went dark and booted into fastboot and I smiled greatly Thank you! Now the beginning starts.

Hello all,
I haven't touched my M7 in about 6 months but I figure it's time I try to fix it. Here are the following symptoms of my problem: it won't boot past the splash screen, it won't boot into recovery, and it doesn't like powering up unless it's plugged into a wall socket.
Is there any way I can RUU this or force it into fastboot or recovery?
press vol down + power button to enter bootloader and then choose fastboot
Sorry should have specified that I already tried that.

Sorry, seems I left out quite a bit. Was up late messing with it to see if I could get anything done and it was probably due to lack of sleep.
I believe it was after I had tried to RUU. Unforunately I don't remember with which .zip file, but I'm going to assume I didn't screw that up as I've had to RUU quite a few times and hadn't messed that up just yet.
