New user, some advice - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey
I just bought this phone off a friend. still in very good condition and im happy with it.
It appears to be stock sony rom, with masses of bloat and clutter, and the battery usage is just average at best so im thinking i probably need a custom rom.
android 4.4.4
kernel 3.4.0
build .14.4.a.0.157
im not sure if bootloader is locked or unlocked.
I would like to get a better rom on this phone with less bloat and hopefully an improvement on battery life, can anyone advise whats best to do.
Thanks.

Galaxy s crashing going to flash new rom

Hi guys
My wife's sags crash all the time and I'm thinking of flashing a new rom onto it. I've not spent much time on the sgs side of things and was wondering could someone point me to a lightweight reliable and close stock in appearance rom ?
Thanks guys
Why not just flash a newer version?

I have tried she's up to the most recent version her phone gets 2.3.5
Most current is now 2.3.6.
I would flash Galaxydroid v 3.3 its a pretty little rom, has great battery life and simple to use yet giving it a little bit of the custom feel if she wanted to. I used this rom myself and had no issues with it at all. Not quite stock, but worth a go. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

Just scroll down the older versions and go for 3.3. V 5 is pretty much the same, but I found 3.3has better battery life

Stock android > sony's version of android?

Hello,
I have a maby dumb question. But since I debloaded my phone the battery is amazing 9 hours of SOT but I really like stock android. So here is my question.
Will I lose this amazing batterylife if I switch to stock android? Are there some special sony tricks that give my phone that battery boost?
And so far I now there isn't a stable and 100% working stock ROM for my phone. Or am i wrong?

Having a debloated rom is pretty much as stock as you'll get it.
I know what you mean with stock Android, but the thing is: You simply can't just simply flash a stock Android rom on your phone, unless it's specifically made for our phone.
If the Rom isn't specifically made for our phone some stuff won't work, more important, you'd probably brick your phone.
And what do you mean with there isn't a 100% working stock Rom for our phone? I've been with the stock rom .93FW since like the phone came out and I haven't gotten a single crash or what ever.
Last week my phone became sluggish for some reason, but a simple reboot fixed that.
Unless you meant a stable stock Android Rom

Well there is only 1 ATT based rom to choose from and 2 ports on the 5.0 right now. I am running TMS5 v2.1 and love it. I get great battery life (depending if i'm playing games on the phone or not). IMO alliance and Twi5ted are a little buggie. I've ran both and am in no means putting them down cause they both are great but i guess because they are ported to the ATT phone you will run into problems here and there with them. Here's a link to TMS v2.0. To get the v2.1 you'll just have to ask someone which page it is on because it was never put in the OP cause its not a full rom, just an update.

Awesome, good to know..!! Guess i'll stay on this L5.02 for a bit longer since i just upgraded it two days ago.

Rooted my Z1s (c6916). Now what? (Performance help)

I've grown to loathe the lollipop update that T-Mobile put out for the z1s. The memory leak issue present has been rather crippling and frankly I'm over it. A while back I rooted thinking I would be on my way to a custom ROM to solve my issues but boy was I wrong. Locked bootloader piece of sheeeet. Anyways, I'd like to stick with my z1s a little longer and wait out all the upcoming flaghips to see what's next. Is there anything I can do now that I have root to improve performance and/of fix the memory leak issue?
What about going back to 4.4? Is that possible now that the baseband updated with the lollipop update and if so how? Assuming working with the current lollipop build on the phone will get me nowere.
Thanks in advance everybody.
Thinking of even flashing back to 4.3 considering I forgot about 4.4s SD card functionality limits...
Unless I can somehow get a factory 5.1.1 image to from lime a different z1 to fully flash into the z1S......
I5.0.2? But why? Flash stock 5.1.1 root it debloat it greenify should help also. If u want stock based rom i recomend flashing MX Rom v8 but imo v 7.8 was better in terms of battery life. Its already slimed down but I debloated it even more running debloatin
g script witch can be found here on XDA. Hopefully this will help you. Good luck
EDIT: I was thinking you have issues with Z1 not Z1s sorry i can't help you with that one

Most stable G906S rom for my wife ;)

Hi.
I gave my G906S to my wife last year. I made my own ROM which was based off the stock 4.4.2.
I would like to update her phone but being my wife she needs something very stable and has good battery life.
Please recommend me a ROM.

No longer being developed but based on latest stock lollipop; it's stable and the battery life is the best I've experienced on LP. If you're looking for something near stock, optimized, with some of the bloat removed, I recommend this rom.

I installed Cm12.1 and boeffla kernel for my wife's G900f.
She likes the pink/black themes available and batterylife and performance is good.
No bugs.

Thanks folks, I ended up installing NovaRom_V1.5.5, and now I have to listen to her complain everyday about something ... when I tested it, it all seemed good.
I'll look in to Cm12.1
NaraeWiz V7.3 seems to be Korean.

It is Korean although I have it installed in English, and it's the closest to stock available. Of course, it has the stock Korean-English keyboard which I need - forgot about that - although it can be replaced with alternatives.
If your wife prefers stable, stock TW, you could try @xXx's Barebone's Cleaner: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/mod-urwsoft-barebone-cleaner-t3043479
It's one of the fastest ways to debloat. I've used it in the past on my g906s. Stock LP 5.0.1 kinda sucks though but basically bug free except for the color fade issue.
