Since more and more people have this device and since the stock ROMs are mobile carrier and country dependent, in order to flash these ROMs you need the proper PIT file to do that.
It would be helpful if those that have this device could contribute, extract and attach the PIT files, indicating the G901F product code, PDA, CSC & modem details.
How to extract PIT from your deviceYou must have the following installed:
SuperSU
Busybox
Terminal emulator
From terminal emulator
Code:
su
Grant permission to run as root and then run this command
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/out.pit bs=8 count=580 skip=2176
The file will be located in the internal sdcard (memory), with the name out.pit. Copy the file to your computer and attach it here as a zip.
From adb shellYou must have Android SDK installed, "USB debugging" enabled from "developer options". Now connect your phone to computer, open a cmd window and go the location where SDK is located. Then run the following commands, one at a time:
Code:
adb devices
adb shell
I was able to use the PIT from Vodafone Germany to flash the ROM for Vodafone for other countries. As you already know, try it at your own risk

Thank you very much. [emoji106]
I'm failing to root my S5
I am also using the UK version on EE, unfortunately the PIT file provided by Phoenix09 didn't work for me. Here's some details...
Model number: SM-G901F
Android version: 4.4.4
Baseband version: G901FXXU1ANK1
Kernel version: 3.10.0-2413392
Build number: KTU84P-G901FXXU1ANK3
I'm using JOdin for Mac (JOdin3CASUAL-r1141-dist.jar)
CF Auto Root (CF-Auto-Root-kccat6-kccat6xx-smg901f.tar.md5)
And the PIT from this thread (G901F_pit_G901FXXU1ANK3_EVR.pit)
JOdin is unable to retrieve the PIT file from my phone, It gives me errors and states that it can't reboot the device. Even after providing it with a PIT file it still gets stuck and can't go any further, thus no root. Do I have the correct PIT file for my phone or is an issue with Knox being enabled?
Thanks.
Hello, i was wondering if it is possible with the wrong combination of pit file and rom to cause battery drain?
Initially the phone had 4.4.4 and after I tried upgrading to 5.0.2, obviously it failed so I had to change the pit file.
I observed battery drain after several cycles, came back to 4.4.4, the battery problem is still there.
Performed reset from phone, from recovery menu, the phone enters deep sleep but with screen on it has a very rapid and abrupt descend.

have you tried kies3 emergency recovery? it wipes all and flashes stock (branded). then you can flash back anything you want.
Hi All,
Has anyone a dutch T-mobile PIT-file for me for the G901F?

i have also battery drain problem im trying to fix it for two weeks now..... i downgraded to 4.4.4 but it was crap compared to beautiful 5.0.2 so i flashed back to LP and then it started... after one night -30% ... battery curve is straight down on chart but it is ure stock with knox 0x0
i tried to flash different roms even latest BOE1 but problem remains... i cant go to sleep when i have ~30% because i won get up when my fone dies over night... before that i had -3% over night!
i noticed that phon wont go into deep sleep as much as it should, 300Mhz has highest use... but all applications that can check app battery use shows Android System .... which tells me nothing as it could be anything :/
help me please... i love this phone but with this battery drain issue im willing to sell it and buy LG G4...

Hey guys,
Got a noob question to ask:
I bought a Galaxy S two days ago and would like to update to the latest firmware. I live in Australia and my firmware details are:
PDA: I9000DTJF3
PHONE: I9000DTJF3
CSC: I9000OPSJF1
Now my question is what files inside the 'I9000XWJG3.rar' do I need to flash on my Australian Samsung Galaxy S? As there are 3 files in the 'I9000XWJG3.rar'.
Do I just flash the 'PDA' file using Odinv1.0?
I'm scared about the MODEM file will stuff up my carrier settings because it uses European gsm networks? or correct me if I am wrong?
Thank you.
Also interested in this answer.
And is it worth the upgrade to I9000XWJG3 from:
PDA: I9000DTJF3
PHONE: I9000DTJF3
CSC: I9000OPSJF1
and when using Odin.
CSC = CSC
PDA = ?? which file?? code or modem
MODEM = ?? which file?? code or modem
Thanks guys.
Yep, I'm another one on Optus with the same firmware. The SGS seems a lot more difficult to flash than my Nexus One that Ive had for 6 months now.
Just out of interest for those other Optus Aus users here, did you have an update.zip on your internal mem?
the update.zip was not there when I got the phone.
But I did put it on and run update.zip and now I have a Superuser Permission App.

When flashing with Odin3,
PDA = CODE
PHONE = MODEM
CSC = CSC
Remember to use the .PIT file as well, which can be found here. You will need an account to download it, but that's free..
I'm new to Android too and I'm sorry I can't answer the OP's question, but I don't think it really matters if the files are European, because I flashed with Eastern-European files and I live in Holland. When I inserted my SIM my phone immediately switched to Dutch. You will have to enter your APN details manually though, but that shouldn't be too big a problem..
Hope this helps!
Edit: I'm actually not too sure anymore about flashing with European files, because I just read in the USA SGS topic that the US version has 4 buttons, whereas the European version has 3. Not sure about the Aussie version, but I would suggest you wait for an answer from someone who knows his stuff a bit better than I do
Yeah I am really confused, not sure what to do?!
good..
Hi,
I'm newbie with SGS, I tried to flash an official italian firmware 2.2.1 with Odin and 3 files. Everything appears ok, but now the phone module don't starts. On notification bar only a no-entry sign. Wifi works fine.
With *#1234# shows:
PDA: I9000RSJS2
PHONE: UNKNOWN
CSC: I9000ITVJS1
BUILD INFO: 2011.01
With *2767*4387264636# shows:
service mode... nothing.
Originally, the product code was from a portuguese device, the firmware a 2.1-update1 release.
Any chance to recover the situation? The phone enters in download & recovery mode...
Have you checked to see whether your APN settings are correct?

Phone should be I9000XXJPY, like all european 2.2.1 ROMS
Try to flash the modem only, check in ODIN that it lists modem.bin as being copied to the device.
Yes, I've tried to reflash a h3g rom (I have a h3g sim).
And it is not an apn problem, I can't access the phone signal at all, I get only a no-entry simbol on tray notification and can't make calls. Now it's getting to be a bit worried...

Hi,
originally I think to remember something like WTY, or WTI... in the box there are 2 manuals, 1 in english and 1 in portuguese... that's why I thought it could by portuguese firmware. The one I fashed was JPY, like you said.
The roms I downloaded in the package contains a modem file in this format: MODEM_I9000XXJPY.tar.md5. Not .bin. Can I flash it alone, with no pit file and "re-partition" option disabled? That's correct?
Thanks to all for your attention.
Another try, I flashed a JP1 radio from recovery, the process has gone well, but the phone still seems to not recognize radio. After *#1234#:
PDA: I9000RSJS2
PHONE: UNKNOWN
CSC: I9000ITVJS1

The telephone does not show the IMEI with *#06#... nothing.
Have to send it to assistance?
I have a 2 week old Galaxy Tab which Kies refuses to update I did not mess with it in any way, no root, no aftermarket firmware whatsoever...
Current firmware version: PDA:JMG / PHONE:JMA / CSC:JM6 (LUX)
Model number: GT-P1000
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: P1000XXJMA
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9; [email protected] #1
Build number: FROYO.XWJMG
I got it in Belgium which is where I live but the firmware version says LUX which I assume means Luxembourg. Could this be my problem?
*#272*IMEI# choose your country CODE and press install , this is will wipe everything in your tab .... then check the kies after that
Thanks! I'm trying this as we speak, do you have any idea which sales code to use for Belgium? I tried EUR, it seems logical (Europe?), but I will try them all if I have to -- I'll report back later
Edit: it's not EUR, it shows some weird alphabet, Greek I think I'll keep trying!
Edit 2: PHN gave a Dutch interface but Kies refused to update it as well, so I'll keep on trying different codes
So I tried doing the sane thing (instead of checking each code separately and waiting 2-3 minutes for the device to reset) and looked up every code and the corresponding country. Here's what I got:
YOG (Spain)
XEO (Poland)
XEH (Hungary)
VDH (Hungary)
TPH (Portugal)
SUN (Switzerland)
PHN (Netherlands)
OPT (Portugal)
MOZ (Switzerland)
LUX (Luxemburg)
IRD (Slovakia)
FOP (Spain)
EUR (Greece)
CYO (Cyprus)
COS (Greece)
AUT (Switzerland)
ATO (Austria)
No Belgium... Does this mean I will never be able to update my tab?
I tried LUX (which is a neighbouring country and the code that came with the device) and PHN (which uses the same language and is also a neighbouring country) but when connected to KIES both refused to update
its mean you have to flash your firmware or ask from anyone to give you the CSC files that has your country that in case you are rooted and have CWM i doubt you don't have
so
in second chance follow my guide to flash your stock firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133590
u must download your firmware , from samfirmware.com but before download any one , check if it has your country or no , by this link http://www.samfirmware.com/samfit.htm
start to copy the firmware code from each firmware up there and see if its for your country or no ....
is that so hard ?
Did you buy the tab from a carrier? This configuration looks like it was made by a carrier or a specialised business. Is it a work tab i.e you got it from work.
In your country the out of the box new tabs should be PDA: JMG Phone: JMF CSC: JMG

lol, I used up all my Google-fu and searched everything I could think of.
Anyway, I know how to root and flash custom firmwares -- I've done it with another Samsung -- but I just wanted to do this one the "official" easy way. But it looks like KIES won't play nice
To answer your question, I won the tab so I didn't buy it from a carrier nor was it SIM-locked. I'll see if I can find a JMG/JMF/JMG .zip somewhere and report back later -- thanks
cannot update out of box
even i purchased a galaxy tab from dubai but when i connected to kies it said my version of device could not be updated. but then i followed this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13682956&mode=linear#post13682956 to install gingerbread and now everything is working fine, market and everything else works fine but the pda field and csc field shows empty when i dial *#1234# .
Both of you have to flash a stock rom and repartition.
But if you have to do that, why not just flash stock gingerbread?

It's the exact same work to upgrade using kies as it is to flash a custom (or stock) rom using odin3 1.7 (or heimdal).
So in what way is it a pain?
u mean to say if i flash my tab with a stock rom then it can be later updated using kies when further updates are available.

I agree -- it's just that I was curious as to why this would happen with an out-of-box stock device.
I know how to use Odin (that is, I know how to follow a tutorial ), I've used it before to flash an Eclair to Froyo, but I'm not sure which ROM to use. I'm on samfirmware.com and downloaded P1000XXJMQ (2.3.3) -- is this the one I should use?
To be honest, I don't even know which samfirmware.com ROM I would need to revert to my current firmware version (PDA:JMG / PHONE:JMA / CSC:JM6)... I think it's either P1000XXJM6 (because of the CSC:JM6) or P1000XWJMG (because of the PDA:JMG)... It's confusing me
So I have 2 questions:
Is P1000XXJMQ a stock Gingerbread?
What ROM do I need in case I want to downgrade to my current firmware? P1000XXJM6 or P1000XWJMG or another one? Edit: I did *#1234# and assume it's P1000XWJMG.
By the way, CSC = Country Sales Code? (just a guess)
Edit: I'm going to flash P1000XXJMQ, I hope I don't brick it, wish me luck I'm a nervous wreck, I drank way too much coffee this morning
Edit 2: the one that samfirmware.com says is JMQ is actually JQ1... still looking for JMQ because I think that's a newer version
Okay, here's an update on what I've done so far and on the outcome...
The link for P1000XXJMQ on SamFirmware was actually P1000XXJQ1 so I went with that one.
According to SamFIT it's for the following regions: Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain; which includes Belgium.
I ran Odin3 v1.7 with Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time; I used PIT file gt-p1000_mr.pit and PDA file P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJPZ_HOME.tar; etc.
Long story short, I'm running Gingerbread but still no sales code for Belgium when I *#272*IMEI#... so KIES keeps refusing to update. It doesn't really matter now because I'm running the latest but I'd like to fix this for future updates.
I searched a lot but I must be doing something wrong. Can anyone give me some advice?

What message does kies state? Is it "latest firmware" or "cannot be updated"?
If it says "latest" then no update yet is available. If "cannot update" then your CSC does not match any firmware combination with samsung...
If you read samfirmware FAQ they have stated that the firmware they post is not official so they don't actually say that samsung recognizes them.

So far it's always been "cannot be updated". I knew it was a CSC problem, I just don't know where to get the right firmware. That's why I asked if P1000XXJMQ is a stock Gingerbread. I'm going to try and find a stock fw and flash it.
Edit: is this the right one: [stock rom][2.3.3] p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjpz ?

This worked fine for me. Thx
Hi,
After having changed usb port at the service, they also reload firmware to my note device. When I came home, noticed that Kies does not
recognize the firmware loaded by service.
The details from *#1234# are:
PDA: N7000XXLSZ
PHONE: N7000XXLSO
CSC: N7000OJVLSB
Build info: Thu Feb 14:01:51 KST 2013
From Settings --> about
Android version: 4.1.2
Kernel version 3.0.31-906407
Beaseband: N7000XXLSO
Build number: JZ054K.N7000XXLSZ
I dont remeber the previous frimware details, but it was recognized by Kies and I was able to upgrade if a new frimware arrived.
Further search leaded to incorret CSC and solution given was to type :
*#272*IEMI# and change CSC code for Turkey.
Did not use the last 2 digit which is / 01
But got error msg saying "Unkown application"
How to proceed from this point on ?
How can I change the CSC ?
Does 4.1.2 not allow CSC change ?
try this
and be ready for a wipe.
Thanks for the info, the problem is that, I dont want my phone as rooted. There must be a way withhout root authority.
Why *#272*iemi# does not work in my case ? I'm sure my iemi is correct and not entered the last 2 digit / 01 .

Hımm,
What about using Odin 3.07 and downloading Firmware : N7000XXLSZ CSC : N7000OJVLSB from sammobile.com ?
This will be my first use of Odin, and appyling firmware with it. Is it risky ? Does it cause any counter increase in Node ? ( for serviceability )
That should work.. Try flashing the stock firmware under csc tab. If that does not work then try the normal way..

Downloaded Odin and proper stock code from sammobile.com for my country.
Used Odin to upload my phone with the ( so caled) new code. ( selected PDA for all code ) Everything went poperly. The code updated with success ...
I notice, you said only CSC but I've chosen PDA for all code to be updated. Did not dare to check only CSC, sorry.
Phone rebooted, and I was expecting the problem to be solved.
But:
Kies still says : Your devices current firmwre version is not supported to update firmware via Kies....
Another interesting thing is that, all the applications are there . I thought it should be a clean start w/o any addtl appl. intstalled by me.
Can this be the clue ?
I'm stuck ..
What am I doing wrong ?
Flashing a JB rom will not wipe anything. It will retain your apps and data.
Check if the csc has changed or not. If not, then it's best to root and use csc changer. Then you can flash the rom again like you did to remove root.

The problem with root is, my note is still under warranty, at least for one more year. I also found Framaroot but it also violates warranty.
I think, the best way is to revisit the service dept of Samsung and ask them to reload the proper stock rom .
I didnt want to revisit service, since it takes too much time to get the phone back from them
JB does not support *#272*iemi#
The rom I found from sammobile.com for my country somehow not the proper one. pda: xxlsz phone: xxlso csc: JVLSB
Couldnt found what LSB stands for anywhere.

Hi,
I'm from Slovakia, I have S5 mini model SM-G800F, G800FXXU1AOG2.
Is there any way to uprage my phone officialy without breaking KNOX, warranty void, or anything else?
There are no new updates when I try to update throught OTA or KIES.
Thanks!
What's your phone's CSC code? Get it and look on this page for a 5.1.1 ROM that matches it:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G800F/
It would be good if someone else could confirm it, but from what I've read if you flash a stock ROM it won't trip Knox warranty code.
AP: G800FXXU1AOG2
CP: G800FXXU1AOG2
CSC: G800FOXX1AOG1
There is not any 5.1.1 ROM for my CSC :/
Any other way?
Are you sure your CSC is OXX? I didn't find any ROM with that code, either lollipop or KitKat. Try using Phone Info from Play Store. It will show correct CSC and if there is a new ROM.
Yes, my CSC is: G800FOXX1AOG1
Here are some photos from Phone Info:

On sammobile there are only 4.4.2 ROMs.
Actually your phone's CSC code is ORX (see second image you've uploaded), and there is no Lollipop for any of the available codes either. I don't recommend flashing any other ROM besides the one for your model, the safest way would be CM13, but it will trip Knox warranty, but then probably it would if you flashed other stock ROMs as well. Maybe someone else with a G800F can help you better, mine is G800H.
And if I flash CM and trip Knox, will I be able to complain the hardware part (for example problems with camera, charging port...)?
if you flash official firmware (even with different CSC) via odin, warranty/knox should be still OK -> http://androidforum.cz/prehrani-softwaru-a-zaruka-t72763.html

there are some rumors about marshmallow for SM-G800F
i have s5 mini with csc TMS (t-mobile slovakia) still kitkat 4.4.2 and now i'm getting some ota:
The software update (869.77 MB) but per sammobile there is still no lollipop for TMS, or maybe just their web page is not up to date ?!
any way to find out what is this update about without installing it?
SamFirm for TMS still shows:
Model: SM-G800F
Version: G800FXXU1ANL1/G800FTMS1AOC1/G800FXXU1AOC2/G800FXXU1ANL1
OS: KitKat(Android 4.4.2)
Filename: SM-G800F_1_20150325171600_m20wixnutf.zip.enc4

Hi mikronum! I have the very same device as yours:
AP: G800FXXU1AOG2
CP: G880FXXU1AOG2
CSC: G800FOXX1AOG1
And if i use the app "phone info samsung" i get the same information that are in your screenshots (CSC is ORX).
Can i ask you wich file did you download to upgrade to lollipop? It would be of great help for me.
Thanks in advance

Thanks for taking the time to answer me .
I will download the file you have posted and think about doing such update.
Could you please confirm me just a couple of things?
1) after this procedure, how is the KNOX counter? Is it still ok? always 0x0?
2) the CSS code in the downoaded firmware is DBT (germany). What languages are available? Is the italian language available?
Thanks in advance.
After flashing KNOX is still 0x0, I use KNOX without any problems.
Italian language is available.
Is Slovak language also available in DBT firmware? Thanks.
Yes, you can select from all languages you have now on stock firmware.
I just checked from the system settings and .... the phone is downloading some kind of OTA .... i don't know yet if it is lillopop. I will tell you when it finishes ... it is a 886,66 MB update. Maybe Slovakian S5 mini are getting lollipop official update ....
I checked my 800F too and it downloaded an update with the same file size. So I checked available firmware for my region with an application called Phone INFO (star) Samsung (star) and it showed that there is an Lollipop update available on OTG and Kies. SAMSUNG FINALLY MADE IT!
P.S. I don't know why, but when I go to the page where I can upgrade, in description I don't see something like "Upgrade package to Android Lollipop", because my friend's device had it when he updated his samsung phone.

If you are talking about this ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo ) application, i have already been using it.
However, i didn't know that this app is able to tell if there is any firmware upgrade ... can you please tell me in which tab and at which line is there such information?
Thank you in advance

I also don't read anything referring to lollipop when i read the description of the OTA update from the phone. This is the reason why i was holding back. I tought it was another kitkat firmware ....
By the way, did you already downloaded and installed this update on your phone? Can you personally confirm it is lollipop?

Yes, I'm talking about the same application as in the link. How to check available firmware:
When you open the program, there are three little lines on upper corner, so press those and then there should appear some more settings. There has to be a button called "Firmware Browser". Tap on it. Then write your model in first(longer) text box and CSC on second(CSC is region code(like DBT - Germany, XEO - Poland, so there should be written three capital letters, if not - write by yourself(you can find CSC in this program, there's a section called " CSC Codes"). Then, press the button "Find" and there should appear a list with available firmware.

Yes, I can. I downloaded and installed the update. It took me about 15 minutes. Not the S6 level upgrade(a little worse than S6). Here's the photo for proof.
