Hi,
After having changed usb port at the service, they also reload firmware to my note device. When I came home, noticed that Kies does not
recognize the firmware loaded by service.
The details from *#1234# are:
PDA: N7000XXLSZ
PHONE: N7000XXLSO
CSC: N7000OJVLSB
Build info: Thu Feb 14:01:51 KST 2013
From Settings --> about
Android version: 4.1.2
Kernel version 3.0.31-906407
Beaseband: N7000XXLSO
Build number: JZ054K.N7000XXLSZ
I dont remeber the previous frimware details, but it was recognized by Kies and I was able to upgrade if a new frimware arrived.
Further search leaded to incorret CSC and solution given was to type :
*#272*IEMI# and change CSC code for Turkey.
Did not use the last 2 digit which is / 01
But got error msg saying "Unkown application"
How to proceed from this point on ?
How can I change the CSC ?
Does 4.1.2 not allow CSC change ?
try this
and be ready for a wipe.
Thanks for the info, the problem is that, I dont want my phone as rooted. There must be a way withhout root authority.
Why *#272*iemi# does not work in my case ? I'm sure my iemi is correct and not entered the last 2 digit / 01 .
That code doesnot work since JB.

Hımm,
What about using Odin 3.07 and downloading Firmware : N7000XXLSZ CSC : N7000OJVLSB from sammobile.com ?
This will be my first use of Odin, and appyling firmware with it. Is it risky ? Does it cause any counter increase in Node ? ( for serviceability )
That should work.. Try flashing the stock firmware under csc tab. If that does not work then try the normal way..
Flashing stock doesnot increase counter..

Any recomended settings for ODIN ? Since there is already stock firmware on the phone, do I need a wipe for cache and data ?
nb. It will be the first time with Odin, soory about the questions.
Just leave everything default.. No need to wipe.

Going crazy ))
Downloaded Odin and proper stock code from sammobile.com for my country.
Used Odin to upload my phone with the ( so caled) new code. ( selected PDA for all code ) Everything went poperly. The code updated with success ...
I notice, you said only CSC but I've chosen PDA for all code to be updated. Did not dare to check only CSC, sorry.
Phone rebooted, and I was expecting the problem to be solved.
But:
Kies still says : Your devices current firmwre version is not supported to update firmware via Kies....
Another interesting thing is that, all the applications are there . I thought it should be a clean start w/o any addtl appl. intstalled by me.
Can this be the clue ?
I'm stuck ..
What am I doing wrong ?
Flashing a JB rom will not wipe anything. It will retain your apps and data.
Check if the csc has changed or not. If not, then it's best to root and use csc changer. Then you can flash the rom again like you did to remove root.

The problem with root is, my note is still under warranty, at least for one more year. I also found Framaroot but it also violates warranty.
I think, the best way is to revisit the service dept of Samsung and ask them to reload the proper stock rom .
I didnt want to revisit service, since it takes too much time to get the phone back from them
JB does not support *#272*iemi#
The rom I found from sammobile.com for my country somehow not the proper one. pda: xxlsz phone: xxlso csc: JVLSB
Couldnt found what LSB stands for anywhere.
Looking stock rom for Turkey.
So, behave as a nice customer and visit the service dept Pitty ...

Hi guys.
I just got a SGS yesterday as my HTC Desire was stolen last week.
The one I got is a German T-Mobile branded phone (has customised boot and shutdown logo) and I really wan't to get rid of the branding and all those useless apps on it. I live in Denmark so i have no use for T-Mobiles apps that don't work here.
Now i have been reading a lot yesterday on these forums and reading lots of guides but I'm still unsure what route to go. Currently the phone is running 2.1 and I wan't to upgrade to 2.2 or 2.2.1 but unbranded, and then root the phone a bit later and probably move to Darky's Gingerbread edition ROM.
From what i can gather there are 2 methods to do this, but I can't really find out witch one would be right for debranding.
1. Using KIES registry pattcher and change my product code to XEE (Nordics) and try that to flash it to official 2.2 and root that.
2. Using this [HOWTO] manually flash Samsung Galaxy S with JPY firmware ** WORKS **
If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome.
[EDIT] Forgot to mention that i can boot the phone in both download mode and recovery mode holding the 3 buttons, so no need to fix that first.
Information on my phone:
Product code from KIES registry:GT-I9000HKDDTM
*#1234#
PDA: I9000BOJG3
PHONE: I9000BOJF1
CSC: I9000GDTMJH2
Build number:ECLAIR.BOJG3
Firmware revision:2.1-update1
Baseband:I9000BOJF1
Kernel version:[email protected] #2
1. Using KIES registry pattcher and change my product code to XEE (Nordics) and try that to flash it to official 2.2 and root that.
Thats the way to go but you would be best to safe a copy of the current ROM for warranty purposes as you would need to flash it back to make a claim .
Flashing via Odin only if you cannot use method 1 .
jje
Ok, thanks.
But how do I make a backup of the current rom? There is no download for it at far as i can tell.
Get Backup from Samfirmware.com
Go to Samfirmware.com click on Firmware then go to Firmware Section. Select then Android and then Galaxy S GT-I9000. Then download the I9000XWJG3 firmware.
Done

But XWJG3 is not a T-Mobile branded firmware is it? If it is nothing on these guides makes any sense.
Btw I did find a I9000BOJG3.rar file on some download page, downloaded and it does contain the following files that match my current versions. I have no idea if it's a working flash but if it is I would be able to flash thsi from odin to return to stock right?
I9000BOJG3.rar file contains:
CODE_I9000BOJG3.tar.md5
CSC_I9000GDTMJH2.tar.md5
MODEM_I9000BOJF1.tar.md5
Oh my Fault. I tought that only the ending is important (Like if the ending is JP7 than it's a Vodafone Firmware and if the ending is JG3 it's a T-Mobile
But XWJG3 is not a T-Mobile branded firmware is it? If it is nothing on these guides makes any sense
You get branded firmware from the network operator .
All firmware on these pages is non branded .
Again my suggestion is to use Kies registry patcher and spoof the update to whatever you want .
jje
I'm also trying to debrand my SGS and get Froyo, but I'd also like to make a backup of my original ROM. However, my ROM isn't available in samfirmware.com. It's I9000BVJJI1 and I want to update to I9000BVJJPD, which one of my friends has and probably is the same hardware.
Is there any way to backup my original ROM?
Your rom and every network rom comes from the network Sam is generic base roms .
Back up = Clockwork Mod Recovery to save the rom .
May i repeat if you dont know what you are doing then dont this forum is littered with broken phones belong to newbies who have not bothered to read and understand and now need to take the phone back to Samsung for repair with non valid firmware that has invalidated the warranty .
jje
Just did the update via KIES using the patcher and everything went smooth.
Saved the new firmware during flashing and a factory reset after the flash as i had basically nothing on the phone yet.
Right now I'm on 2.2
PDA: I9000XWJPA
PHONE: I9000XXJPP
CSC: I9000XEEJP4
Not rooted yet, but I'm gonna do that tomorrow probably.
I have a 2 week old Galaxy Tab which Kies refuses to update I did not mess with it in any way, no root, no aftermarket firmware whatsoever...
Current firmware version: PDA:JMG / PHONE:JMA / CSC:JM6 (LUX)
Model number: GT-P1000
Firmware version: 2.2
Baseband version: P1000XXJMA
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9; [email protected] #1
Build number: FROYO.XWJMG
I got it in Belgium which is where I live but the firmware version says LUX which I assume means Luxembourg. Could this be my problem?
*#272*IMEI# choose your country CODE and press install , this is will wipe everything in your tab .... then check the kies after that
Thanks! I'm trying this as we speak, do you have any idea which sales code to use for Belgium? I tried EUR, it seems logical (Europe?), but I will try them all if I have to -- I'll report back later
Edit: it's not EUR, it shows some weird alphabet, Greek I think I'll keep trying!
Edit 2: PHN gave a Dutch interface but Kies refused to update it as well, so I'll keep on trying different codes
So I tried doing the sane thing (instead of checking each code separately and waiting 2-3 minutes for the device to reset) and looked up every code and the corresponding country. Here's what I got:
YOG (Spain)
XEO (Poland)
XEH (Hungary)
VDH (Hungary)
TPH (Portugal)
SUN (Switzerland)
PHN (Netherlands)
OPT (Portugal)
MOZ (Switzerland)
LUX (Luxemburg)
IRD (Slovakia)
FOP (Spain)
EUR (Greece)
CYO (Cyprus)
COS (Greece)
AUT (Switzerland)
ATO (Austria)
No Belgium... Does this mean I will never be able to update my tab?
I tried LUX (which is a neighbouring country and the code that came with the device) and PHN (which uses the same language and is also a neighbouring country) but when connected to KIES both refused to update
its mean you have to flash your firmware or ask from anyone to give you the CSC files that has your country that in case you are rooted and have CWM i doubt you don't have
so
in second chance follow my guide to flash your stock firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1133590
u must download your firmware , from samfirmware.com but before download any one , check if it has your country or no , by this link http://www.samfirmware.com/samfit.htm
start to copy the firmware code from each firmware up there and see if its for your country or no ....
is that so hard ?
Did you buy the tab from a carrier? This configuration looks like it was made by a carrier or a specialised business. Is it a work tab i.e you got it from work.
In your country the out of the box new tabs should be PDA: JMG Phone: JMF CSC: JMG

now he is yours , you are the pro with kies update
lol, I used up all my Google-fu and searched everything I could think of.
Anyway, I know how to root and flash custom firmwares -- I've done it with another Samsung -- but I just wanted to do this one the "official" easy way. But it looks like KIES won't play nice
To answer your question, I won the tab so I didn't buy it from a carrier nor was it SIM-locked. I'll see if I can find a JMG/JMF/JMG .zip somewhere and report back later -- thanks
cannot update out of box
even i purchased a galaxy tab from dubai but when i connected to kies it said my version of device could not be updated. but then i followed this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13682956&mode=linear#post13682956 to install gingerbread and now everything is working fine, market and everything else works fine but the pda field and csc field shows empty when i dial *#1234# .
Both of you have to flash a stock rom and repartition.
But if you have to do that, why not just flash stock gingerbread?

It's the exact same work to upgrade using kies as it is to flash a custom (or stock) rom using odin3 1.7 (or heimdal).
So in what way is it a pain?
u mean to say if i flash my tab with a stock rom then it can be later updated using kies when further updates are available.

I agree -- it's just that I was curious as to why this would happen with an out-of-box stock device.
I know how to use Odin (that is, I know how to follow a tutorial ), I've used it before to flash an Eclair to Froyo, but I'm not sure which ROM to use. I'm on samfirmware.com and downloaded P1000XXJMQ (2.3.3) -- is this the one I should use?
To be honest, I don't even know which samfirmware.com ROM I would need to revert to my current firmware version (PDA:JMG / PHONE:JMA / CSC:JM6)... I think it's either P1000XXJM6 (because of the CSC:JM6) or P1000XWJMG (because of the PDA:JMG)... It's confusing me
So I have 2 questions:
Is P1000XXJMQ a stock Gingerbread?
What ROM do I need in case I want to downgrade to my current firmware? P1000XXJM6 or P1000XWJMG or another one? Edit: I did *#1234# and assume it's P1000XWJMG.
By the way, CSC = Country Sales Code? (just a guess)
Edit: I'm going to flash P1000XXJMQ, I hope I don't brick it, wish me luck I'm a nervous wreck, I drank way too much coffee this morning
Edit 2: the one that samfirmware.com says is JMQ is actually JQ1... still looking for JMQ because I think that's a newer version
Okay, here's an update on what I've done so far and on the outcome...
The link for P1000XXJMQ on SamFirmware was actually P1000XXJQ1 so I went with that one.
According to SamFIT it's for the following regions: Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain; which includes Belgium.
I ran Odin3 v1.7 with Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time; I used PIT file gt-p1000_mr.pit and PDA file P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJQ1_P1000XXJPZ_HOME.tar; etc.
Long story short, I'm running Gingerbread but still no sales code for Belgium when I *#272*IMEI#... so KIES keeps refusing to update. It doesn't really matter now because I'm running the latest but I'd like to fix this for future updates.
I searched a lot but I must be doing something wrong. Can anyone give me some advice?

What message does kies state? Is it "latest firmware" or "cannot be updated"?
If it says "latest" then no update yet is available. If "cannot update" then your CSC does not match any firmware combination with samsung...
If you read samfirmware FAQ they have stated that the firmware they post is not official so they don't actually say that samsung recognizes them.

So far it's always been "cannot be updated". I knew it was a CSC problem, I just don't know where to get the right firmware. That's why I asked if P1000XXJMQ is a stock Gingerbread. I'm going to try and find a stock fw and flash it.
Edit: is this the right one: [stock rom][2.3.3] p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjq1 p1000xxjpz ?
JQ1 is stock for Italy

Question :
1. Is this thing i must worry? i already browse google and xda forum almost similar like this but other version of country.
2. I can't connect to KIES after KIES update. i see some people can change the modem to pda or usb. but i can't after ICS update.
(sorry for advance for my bad english)
Hope you all can help me. Thx for advance
hello Nazz Mid
i will help you but about the detail of csc unkown refer here:http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-international/528572-what-does-mean.html so basically we have to unroot the device before ota update.but try flashing ics 4.0.3 with odin from here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1679636 But dont update with kies or from the phone itself since the download can become corrupted and effect the rom.
hey darkshadow1997,
thx for helping me. but my phone never root and i update ICS using KIES.
so should i just follow your step reflash the stock rom using ODIN?
well try it and see if it fixes your problem.

I don't mind doing it for you but a couple of points.
a) That link is not working at the moment, it says temporary technical problem. Can you find another link or I'll see if its working later?
b) It take it you can't get the new ODIN3 v3.07 working, as you don't need to split the firmware with this?
c) If you don't have access to a computer how do you plan to flash the firmware? Just wondering.

No I think they should all change (PDA/Build Number Phone/Baseband Version and CSC). But they probably won't all be the same. For instance I recently flashed the file S5830iXXLK3_S5830iBTULK1_S5830iXXLK1_HOME.tar.md5 .
So now if I dial *#1234# I get:
PDA: S5830iXXLK3
PHONE: S5830iXXLK1
CSC: S5830iBTULK1
And in Settings > About Phone Build Number is GINGERBREAD.XXLK3 and Baseband Version is S5830iXXLK1.
But people call that firmware XXLK3 I think because they name the firmware by the PDA version, that's what I've always presumed anyway.

Ok I'm not sure why its doing that then to be honest! I've only just started using ODIN3 v3.07 so the only thing I can think is that I already had the correct baseband from my previous firmware that I flashed with v1.87!

Cant find any other way to fix this, please help.
if you have the stock rom downloaded on PC.. then open it using 7z and you will see a cache.img file. copy to phone and use mobile odin to flash it in the cache tab... this will reset the phone so.. make sure you are on a safe kernel and rooted
after imei /01 is normal !
if ur phone is root just go to system look for SW_Configuration.xml
if don't have then probably u're not getting any csc info for sure!
if u're on custom rom shld be ok for that u can ignore it not a issue!
flash to a official rom u'll get it back!
or just get any SW_Configuration.xml edit by ur self throw it in the system folder !
OMG just a name of CSC versions is that so important if u r on a custom rom? fainted !
not sure what is ur case try it n do it at ur own risk !
Like I said it is official Rom. Also the phone is not root.
Actually found it somewhere else, I flashed with odin again with the full rom but only put it on CSC left other options empty and it worked.
Thanks for the replies.
