[Q] 5.0.1 GPE - Advanced Power Menu? - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to implement the advanced power menu on 5.0.1 GPE yet? I am not looking for widgets that do the same functionality, looking for a mod or something that works on Lollipop. I'm pretty sure my Nexus 7 had an option in Developer Settings to enable it, but it's not there on my M7.

The nexus is a very different device but in the end it was put there by the dev. This is not a stock option in android so you will have to wait until something is made for it or run a custom 5.0 rom.

Youre absolutely correct. I just checked my N7 and see that the option isn't there, I'm thinking about an unofficial Cyanogenmod lollipop release that had the option baked into the developer options menu. For some reason, I thought it was in the official build for the Nexus. Apologies.

For ICS we don't have any kernel development unfortunately. As for EQS, that is in SystemUI.apk and can be found in my build

Or i could be less fo a fool and just flash them in CWM as you point out in your thread!
EDIT: Think i must have done something wrong, my phone wont boot into sense now, i flashed the % battery mod and SystemUI for EQS and now i get systemui has crashed messages all the time, sense never fully starts and i get into anything! Disaster.....
Thoughts?
Which ROM did you grab it from?
Best way to install is by adb pushing it
Just reflash the stock ROM over the top. Should fix your issues.

Thanks, I grabbed it from the sense 4 load, hence the problems I made for myself. I decided to blank my phone and just go to your sense 4 final beta anyway. Eventually after a full format I got it back working. Just need to flash the extra quick settings and recent apps riles now and sorted. Thanks for your help

Yes think that was the issue. Thanks for your help, just out of interest, any chance of your final build having cifs supported in the kernel? Im just starting to teach myself how to compile kernels, hopefully il be able to contribute soon!
I personally don't touch kernels, but vertigo does. Not sure whether he will have time to do one.
I hope to soon start playing with them when I get some more time, but if you manage to make one then maybe I can bang it in

Because it's not the same !
He's asking for a feature included in most AOSP and/or AOKP Roms, where you can kill the current app by long pressing the back button. What you get by double tapping the home button is the recent apps menu.
I'd love to see that feature in a Sense based rom, kernel or mod. But it looks like it's only available in AOSP based roms only (except for 1 sense rom named renovate i think).
Does anyone know a mod that can be used to get the feature in Sense roms ??

Actually, there's already a Sense based ROM that has the feature, it's called Renovate : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2202696
I'm currently using AHRD rom (sense, without the back button to kill option), because AOSP roms are not stable enough yet, but once they are i'll directly swith.

[Q] Sense 5 version 4.2.2 Quick Settings

I've installed TrickDroid 8.0 and I just have one question. It's not specific to this ROM in particular as I haven't been able to figure this out on any Sense 5 4.2.2 ROMs yet.
When you pull down the notification bar and go into quick settings (In TrickDroid 8), there's a whole entire list of switches to be used. I don't need all of these switches, and would like to remove some of them and organize them like I could with Sense 5 4.1.2.
Is this option not available yet or am I missing a setting that I've been looking for for a multitude of days?
Not available as part of Sense.
I think I saw a mod for that, possibly Xposed, possibly specific to a ROM.
You can follow this guide to remove them: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42609830&postcount=25496
And there is an app in the works
You can use Viper Rom for set your QS
Or use a guide like that was posted

Upgraded to Lollipop, but got Kit Kat style app grid/screen?

This is the weirdest thing ever, I recently upgraded to Lollipop from 4.4.4, and even though there are the lollipop elements like the new notification area, drop down menu, and lockscreen, for some reason, I still have the kit kat app drawer, and menus. I tried flashing it again, then just going with a RUU.zip from grafixnyc and I'm still in the same situation. What can I do to fix this?

There is nothing to fix here, its how it is supposed to be. If you want your app drawer to look the same as a nexus device running lollipop then install Google now launcher.

Thank you, I wasn't aware of that.
Is this the case for people who upgraded from 4.4 to 5.0 using OTA? (no customs ROMs and flashing..) ?

Stock 5.1.1 - Soft Key Swap

Hey all,
I figure this is probably a dumb question, but I'm looking for a way to swap my soft key menu and back buttons.
I just switched from CM to Stock so I could use Project Fi, and I'm missing that much more than expected.
I saw a flashable zip that will switch them, but it doesn't work on 5.1.1 (probably should have read that before trying it....)
Any luck with doing this? What are the ramifications of making this change in regards to getting OTA updates?

Try Pure Nexus ROM. Has those options built in and is optimized for Fi.

If your phone is rooted, use ultimate dynamic navbar. Search xda for apk. With that app, you can customize it the way you want.
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
Maybe I should make a new thread for this, but I'll give this a go first (for less clutter).
I used pure nexus. Totally amazing rom, love it. Got the new version, (this one has a new custom settings option), but I can't find the option for the soft keys. Maybe it isn't implemented yet, but I thought I'd ask incase I was just blind.
Thanks!
