Does this mean we could have a root soon?!?

Yes I kno it's don't work, because the program hasn't been updated, but what I'm saying is it might be away to root soon?!? If the program updates
no need for this
whats the need for this when towelroot works already for 4.4.4? we don't need multiple ways to root but we do need a unlocked bootloader method

Lol obviously you don't kno, you can't root 4.4.4 kit kat towelroot is patched, yes you can if you was already rooted on 4.4.2 with towelroot than with Odin you can preserve your root an update to 4.4.4 stock root, but those for who r on 4.4.4 not rooted there no way to use Odin an switch your kernel to root!
Unless someone can tell me how can you root Note 3 Stock 4.4.4 NJ5, I've been looking all over... Nothing
Yes I agree with we need a unlocked bootloader but honestly looks like no devs. r working on that, looks like there no hope for that, an for Note 3 AT&T/ Verizon model looks like development is already dead, an it's sad cause this phone still has top of line specs compared to a lot of other android phones on the market, example (galaxy aphla, mega, also Note 3 is better than Galaxy S5 in my opinion) unless Samsung releases a one click bootloader unlock, like HTC did but I don't think samsung really cares
It was my understanding you can downgrade your kernel using Odin and then use towel root.

Thanks for the info, guess all I need to do is downgrade the kernel than follow the steps correct?
I dunno never did it. I was just at a loss why you were laughing at a guy for giving you relatively correct information. My device will most likely stay on 4.4.2 till I have a rootable lollipop
I think you have to go back to nc2 install safestrap update to nj5 then Odin nc2 kernel then install rooted nj5 via safestrap. But I haven't read the threads fully because I haven't intended on doing it.

We'll sorry to that guy I thought you needed a root to downgrade kernels, but I guess you don't, so basically I have to downgrade to 4.4.4 NC2 correct? than root , install busybox, than Safestrap, than boot into Safestrap recovery an update the the stock rom to NJ5, than reboot an I'm 4.4.4 NJ5 rooted? I'm question is can you stay on NC2 ? Or do you need to update to NJ5 ?
But than if I ever wanted a rom with Odin just switch kernels boot into recovery an have roms or add ons on sd than once installed boot back into download mode an use Odin install NJ5 back than reboot? An since I'm on 4.4.4 I'd need a 4.4.4 rom correct can't use 4.4.2?

towel root only works for 4.4.2 , it complains on 4.4.4
What I understand you do is you Odin back to stock nc2.
Then you use towelroot.
Then you install safestrap
Then you install busy box
Then you get the nj5 update file from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56935559
Then you save it on your phone
Then you boot into safestrap
Then you install the file you saved
Then you flash the new 4.4.4 nj5 kernel in Odin.

Alternatively you can stay on 4.4.2 if you want after you Odin. But you will have an out of date version of android (which is what my current course of action is) I do not see a big enough change to move from 4.4.2... Lollipop will perhaps make me upgrade.

Ok, so if I am at 4.3, and want to keep my root, is there a path to kk that still has root? I would prefer the non ss route. BTW, the main thing that makes me root is I want to use my Microsd card and when unrooted backup and other apps seem unable to access it properly.

Stock slot, would that be the one that is the original ROM?
Dynamic Kat looks intreguing. But it says I have to have KK first. Can I get DK working from JB rooted?
Indeed it is.
Use this guide. (replace the Urdroid KK ROM that he says to download with DynamicKat)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712039
Then head over to our development section and find the SS thread.
You will need both 3.71 and 3.72
3.71 will get you to KK with the guide. Once there, you will need to reinstall it and use it to uninstall the recovery.
Then uninstall the app.
After that, install 3.72 and use it to install your new recovery. That way you don't have to use odin every time you want to flash a mod or new kk rom

1. Don't hijack threads
2. Only TW based ROMs can be flashed.
3. Go read the SS development thread.
You need to make sure you are on 3.71 when trying to flash a 4.3 ROM and 3.72 to use KK.

I looked up and down but I dont see a trend on this I just want to make sure im doing it right so I dont brick my phone I made a back up of the stock rom. do I just wipe and flash the new rom over the stock rom slot?
Back up your stock rom first then factory reset in safestrap then flash . There are some videos on youtube about ss its older but it still works the same way . Just make sure your chosing the correct rom for your version .
Sent from my SM-N900A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
personally i dirty flashed dynamickat from safestrap and havent had any issues, but to be safe you should back up the stock rom, and then just move the rom to the internal flash(as simple as dragging and dropping from windows) and then select it from the menu when you go to install, you can do a full wipe or you can see how a dirty flash works for you, just depends really
Read and read and follow directions to the "T" and you'll be fine. I backed up the stock rom first. Did the wipe in SS and then flashed the rom from from my sd card. Surprised how easy it was. I'm flashing like a mofo now lol. I always back up before flashing anything. Just my paranoia.
I just recently got root for official NC2 4.4.2. I want to flash Xnote12 port based off NC2 in the rom slot. Is this OK to do or no? I really don't want to mess with my stock slot.
