Purpose of this tool?
I am looking for a way to flash stock firmware to my phone without using a toolkit. For example, I know I can flash a KDZ or TOT file to my phone using LG Flash Tool, but both versions are Windows-only. I am trying to move completely to Ubuntu and I would love to find out that I can flash back to stock using only fastboot... If I extract my TOT file using your tool, can I flash the individual partitions using fastboot and get back to 100% stock? Really, I would like to learn more about what is happening at the most basic level when we are flashing for example, a custom ROM vs. the stock TOT or KDZ file. Why do we need to enter download mode and use a toolkit program, when we can flash custom ROMS through the terminal, or through a custom recovery? On my Ubuntu partition I have all my Android stuff setup and my device is recognized by adb (I haven't tried fastboot yet), so why can't I do EVERYTHING within Linux? Isn't Android Linux-based? It's irritating to think I have to have a separate Windows PC or keep a Windows partition to get back to 100% stock. I can't really tell you why I'm so gung-ho about going full Linux but I'm just fed up with Windows tbh... I have been reading through several forum posts and asking questions all around... I'm just looking for help learning and understanding, even if that's just a link pointing me towards more information. I have learned a lot already but there are some things I just don't understand yet. Thanks for your time.

Flashing Stock Recovery Problem
Hi there,
I have a rooted HTC one M8 in Australia and I'm trying to flash stock recovery with fastboot in command centre. I'm having a problem because it keeps failing to flash the recovery as its more than 18mb and the command centre says "target reported max download size of 1830477824"
Is there a way to make the max file size bigger? so i can flash stock recovery, update the phone and then flash TWRP again?
Im a beginner so even just a little help would be amazing! THANKS SO MUCH!

TWRP Update
"As soon as you are on actual TWRP, you can flash the further updates of the image file directly out of the recovery, so you don't have to use the terminal and the commands anymore then."
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2321124&page=14
@tool_king In TWRP, what selections in recovery do I need to press to update the img file so I don't use the terminal or commands? (Current version is 2.7.1, have downloaded img 2.8.5 and copied onto both internal and external memory. )
Cheers

Remove all the ATT software, boot image
To use this you first need to flash the ATT V20P firmware and root it, you don’t need to install Clockwork but I would suggest doing this and also performing a backup before running this.
Procedure
Make sure you have the latest LG drivers
Make sure you have USB Debugging turned on
Extract files to a folder
Run the batch file run.bat
Pick what you want to remove
Select 3 from the batch file to exit as this will reboot your phone which is required
If you decide not to remove the ATT software from your phone but still want to change the boot images then Gulliver's Travels will still be removed as I needed extra space in the system/apps folder to replace the poweroff.apk.
Any issues just re-flash or restore you backup.
APNs are removed in this clean up as they touch a lot of other functions, also the Contacts is still the AT&T contacts to keep the rom stable.

Restoring Doesn't Work
Thanks Guys (or guy) For The Recovery
It Was A Big Help But I Have A Problem With The Restoring Bit...............I Tried To Restore My Backed Up Stock ROM But All I Got Was A Blank Screen And Loads Of ' Unfortunately (Enter Name) Has Stopped'.
Dont Know If It Was My Error Or The Recovery's But I Had To Factory Reset My Phone
After This I Deleted The Backup And Am Currently Running On Stock Rom
I Made A Backup Of The Stock ROM Now And I'm Scared To Try Restoring It (I'm A Noob To Custom ROMs And ****)
Please Fix This (As It's Sort Of Pointless To Backup Your Phone If You Cant Restore It)
Ps-Everything Else Works Fine (like Factory Reset And Installing Custom ROMs And GApps)
Help Please!
I can't boot to bootloader RECOVERY is not SEANDROID ENFORCING? What to do ? Please help!
Restore doesn't work for me either with custom TWRP recoveries . I think is TWRP's fault .

I just noticed I tried to 'reply' to the thread Kernel Flasher to help others (not ask a question) and it automatically posted the reply as a new question on this forum. This response below is in reference to the NC2 Kernel Flasher from @benwaffle
Wow this app is awesome! I'm a bit of a n00b in the current Android rooting scene, so here is what I did spelled out for anyone that needs it.
1st my phone as it stands: SN-N900A, on 4.4.4 rooted with stock AT&T ROM. After all this was done I wanted to use Safestrap to use its handy 'Backup' function to backup my entire ROM as-is, so if I screw something up I could use Safestrap to recover to my backup. Unfortunately as I found out quickly, the original developer of Safestrap moved onto greener pastures and ceased development, thus making Safestrap not supported on later versions of Android like 4.4.4 (NL1) or 5.0.0 (OC1). However thanks to @benwaffle this tool can be used from within Android to boot back to Safestrap. Here is what I did:
Download the .apk for the Kernel NC2 Flasher utility using the QR code from the original post on this thread to my rooted 4.4.4 Note 3
Download the .zip for the Kernel you MUST flash back after completing the backup operation done in Safestrap (this app flashes kernel back to NC2 purposely so Safestrap will work again, but we have to flash back to the OS kernel we originally had after complete) I downloaded 4.4.4 Kernel flash .zip from here
Copy .zip downloaded for kernel to SD card on phone to be used to flash back later (in steps below) after completing work with Safestrap
Install the .apk
Run the .apk and press the 'Flash' button (SuperSU will then prompt for access)
Utility reboots directly into Safestrap. I used the 'Backup' function to backup my phone's ROM. This is your opportunity to do whatever you need to do in Safestrap. (Since I wanted to go back to my original OS, I continued with steps below; i.e. I din't flash a new OS)
Once complete press the back button to get to the home screen and selected 'Install'
Navigated to the Kernel Flasher for NL1 I downloaded previously and copied to device (I want 4.4.4), and started install process
Rebooted phone. It booted back into 4.4.4 like nothing ever happened which is perfect!
A lot of these steps are probably super easy for the experienced, but I felt like outlining explicitly in case it helps someone reading later.
