I just noticed I tried to 'reply' to the thread Kernel Flasher to help others (not ask a question) and it automatically posted the reply as a new question on this forum. This response below is in reference to the NC2 Kernel Flasher from @benwaffle
Wow this app is awesome! I'm a bit of a n00b in the current Android rooting scene, so here is what I did spelled out for anyone that needs it.
1st my phone as it stands: SN-N900A, on 4.4.4 rooted with stock AT&T ROM. After all this was done I wanted to use Safestrap to use its handy 'Backup' function to backup my entire ROM as-is, so if I screw something up I could use Safestrap to recover to my backup. Unfortunately as I found out quickly, the original developer of Safestrap moved onto greener pastures and ceased development, thus making Safestrap not supported on later versions of Android like 4.4.4 (NL1) or 5.0.0 (OC1). However thanks to @benwaffle this tool can be used from within Android to boot back to Safestrap. Here is what I did:
Download the .apk for the Kernel NC2 Flasher utility using the QR code from the original post on this thread to my rooted 4.4.4 Note 3
Download the .zip for the Kernel you MUST flash back after completing the backup operation done in Safestrap (this app flashes kernel back to NC2 purposely so Safestrap will work again, but we have to flash back to the OS kernel we originally had after complete) I downloaded 4.4.4 Kernel flash .zip from here
Copy .zip downloaded for kernel to SD card on phone to be used to flash back later (in steps below) after completing work with Safestrap
Install the .apk
Run the .apk and press the 'Flash' button (SuperSU will then prompt for access)
Utility reboots directly into Safestrap. I used the 'Backup' function to backup my phone's ROM. This is your opportunity to do whatever you need to do in Safestrap. (Since I wanted to go back to my original OS, I continued with steps below; i.e. I din't flash a new OS)
Once complete press the back button to get to the home screen and selected 'Install'
Navigated to the Kernel Flasher for NL1 I downloaded previously and copied to device (I want 4.4.4), and started install process
Rebooted phone. It booted back into 4.4.4 like nothing ever happened which is perfect!
A lot of these steps are probably super easy for the experienced, but I felt like outlining explicitly in case it helps someone reading later.

Root access problem
@rodman01, thank you very much for this great ROM!
Regarding the Kernel Tweaker that is broken at your last nightly build (LS-KK-v3.2-2014-10-31-p1-Nightly.zip), I think it has to do with root access. It seems that this build is not rooted (I've tried root checker and titanium backup). I've made a clean install by restocking to GB-Stock-Safe-v5 -> Overcome -> LiquidSmooth (both stable and nightly build) so I don't think that has to do with my installation or my device (p1). The stable build has no broblem with root access.
Do you think you can fix it ?
I am looking forward to your next build. Keep up the good work !
Thanks for the info...yes could be and would make sense.
I will have a look at it and take care of it in next version. Thanks!
Hi, firstly is to thank you for this Rom.
I am just a p1 user who got it recently. I did tried flashing CM11 on it but i wasnt satisfied.
I did tried to flash LSmooth on my p1, and viola! it works super smooth.
I have been playing games with it and it is not slugish.
Thou i can't find the option for the lockscreen? (where i can change the lockscreen to PIN or Gesture Unlock)
(not the lock screen option on liquidsmooth)
thank you so very much for giving the best (i know it is) for our old tab :"
and yes, it is a solid and smooth rom, as most of features work quite well.. then go even better with meeting with archidroid .
what i want to ask is, would you also bring update to liquid archidroid rom? or i just can use it over a newer build (and updates applied)?
*sorry for a noob (my) question*
Flashed from 2.3.6 stock CDMA to ?
I have a lot of questions:
It is about a Verizon CDMA Galaxy Tab running 2.3.6 (P1000 CDMA, also called a P1C).
Installed CWM and did a NANDROID backup.
I flashed it to the latest Cyanogenmod nightly. The 3G radio continued to work for awhile, then died. I have no idea why.
I flashed it to the Cyanogenmod nightly just previous, no change.
I flashed it to another newer ROM (cm-10.1-20130913-UNOFFICIAL-p1c.zip) from AlRoger. Still no 3G modem service.
Found various references to the device needing a modem.bin. Could not find a copy online.
Keep in mind the CWM NANDROID backup from 2.3.6 exists. I was tempted to use it but CWM returned an MD5 error.
This device is on an active Verizon Family Plan account, with a modern 4G iPad. I have searched around and found references to extracting a modem.bin, several dead links to a modem.bin - nothing to go on.
http://www.droidforums.net/threads/how-to-restore-vzw-galaxy-tab-to-stock-dj11.113084/page-7 (dead thread)
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0By5pF101cmHZN21mUTNwUDhiRUU/edit I found this, an SCH-I800_Verizon_Stock.tar.gz, but not really sure how to flash it (heimdall).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2370628 (dead)
http://apkmaxi.blogspot.com/2014/02/how-to-update-android-kitkat-442-cm-11.html
are some links I used.
HELP!!
I would like to flash this latest, how do I get the CDMA modem working though?
It seems the process is to go back to stock, then flash immediately to this image.
update: I tried to use heimdall and it just says protocol initialization error. so i restarted the laptop and restarted the device, and now it just shows this: [see image] Phone - ! - Computer (turns out this is called Emergency Recovery Mode, and Kies can recover from THIS mode apparently)
update #2
Ok. What someone (sammy THANK YOU) told me on #android-root was the device didn't have a bootloader anymore. I got ODIN and a bootloader image and the device at least gets into Download mode.
update #3
Heimdall loads the SCH-I800_Verizon_Stock.tar.gz file, parses it like everything is fine. And then all heimdall ever does is get to
Beginning session...
(long wait)
Releasing device interface.
Update #4
From Download mode: Supposedly I can flash the same file as a Kernel. (?)
When using ODIN 3.04 or 3.09, and selecting PDA/AP button, and CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.tar, and the Kernel flashes and everything seems okay. The little status bar fills up under the word Downloading.... on the tablet.
Attempting to reboot into Recovery mode though, all I get is all solid lights and a thin blue line through the display.
Update #5
Extracted SCH-I800_Verizon_Stock.tar.gz to C:\android\Heimdall\fw.
Going back to the Heimdall frontend and getting nowhere. So I ran Heimdall from the command line:
C:\android\Heimdall>heimdall flash --CACHE fw\cache.rfs --PARAM fw\param.lfs --KERNEL fw\zImage --RECOVERY fw\recovery.bin --FACTORYFS fw\system.rfs --PIT fw\sch-i800.pit --repartition
And the device is booting with the original SAMSUNG then Verizon logo, and does not come all the way up, but factory reset (Power + Volume up then release Power at the SAMSUNG logo) does it.
I have reset data and cache now and am waiting...
hello!
i have a little problem. when i try to open the performance menu in the settings i got a message that says kernel tweaker has stopped working. any ideas?
does anybody know how to move the apps to "internal sdcard"?
already rooted and tried to used app2sd/titanium backup on this beauty rom, but unable to move it, due to there is no option for move to internal sdcard as usual on setting-app-storage section.
sorry for my noob question..
thanks

[Why bother with L?
It would be ideal if the focus remains on KK to make it 99.99% functional.
L is not much different than KK.
We have to accept our devices are old and KK works just fine.
Why not invest into a better KK?] thumbs up!
yeah, great devs! @ rodman1, go and fix this awesome rom pls... im eagerly waiting for the final build.

How do i download files from multiupload

Hi All, This is an All-in-one thread with available roms (for both Eclair and GOT 2.2.1 leak), how to root + apply roms for GOT 2.2.1 Leak, petitions, projects, etc. Please read everything carefully and good luck
(SCROLL DOWN FOR LIST OF ROMS, PETITIONS, ETC!)
Disclaimer: I am not responsible if anything happens to your device. Please read the whole text over before applying roms. Use at your own risk.
It is strongly recommended that you wipe data + cache + dlavik (may not be spelled right) cache before applying ANY roms.
Also, make sure to have vulnerable recovery and root installed (I do not think you need vulnerable recovery for 2.1 BUT ROOT IS NEEDED) However it is acquired, root is needed.
Also, MAKE SURE YOU NANDROID BACKUP BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING TO YOUR DEVICE!!! GOOD LUCK
How-To Root (On GOT 2.2.1) (All the files were taken straight from the GOT homepage)
Note: Please, make sure your device is fully charged before you attempt to do this!
The following files all have vulnerable recovery pre-installed:
DACH – GERMANY :
http://www.multiupload.com/G9PP7JN78C
DACH AUSTRIA :
http://www.multiupload.com/P8DDXCWW03
RETAIL EUROPE (RTEU) :
http://www.multiupload.com/6X7H39HGCG
FRANCE RETAIL :
http://www.multiupload.com/PK28LXE4SE
ITALY WIND :
http://www.multiupload.com/3KYMZNRZW2
UK RETAIL (RTUK) :
http://www.multiupload.com/60B78PRKNY
TELUS CANADA :
http://www.multiupload.com/5S2CYGP3VW
Download the file according to where you live.
Now, you must install RSD Lite (taken from http://tinyurl.com/3xg5xwj):
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N1MPCX1U
mirror: http://www.multiupload.com/jw25luksh2 (not tested by me, found from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=983516 thanks nagi603 and eXtink please report in comments if it works!)
I'm pretty sure you may have to install the drivers for your device, a simple google may help. - This may be required.
Next, open RSD Lite and click the "..." and navigate to the file you have downloaded above.
Next, plug in your phone in bootloader mode. To do this, turn your phone off, then hold the power button, the top volume button and the camera button at the same time. Then you should enter bootloader mode. It should say Bootloader at the top. Make sure, at the bottom it says "Battery OK". Please, make sure you have fully charged your device! Then click the start button. Wait for a while.
Once its booted, plug the device into your computer via usb, then go to memory card access. Then go to the root of the sd card (on your computer)
Now, download and OR (For this tutorial, I will be using Androidani 3.3, the link is a the bottom).
In the rar file there should be two things. One should be a folder named "OpenRecovery" (Note: Make sure thats the file name!) and an update.zip file. Next, put the OpenRecovery folder in the root of your sd card. (If you have never used an OR before, you should NOT have to replace anything!) Also put the update.zip in the root of your sd card.
Next, turn the phone off. Now, while turning your phone on, (THIS MAY NOT WORK FOR SOME PEOPLE) hold the camera and power button until you see the M logo, then release the power button but keep holding the camera button. You should see a caution sign. Next, click the up button (on the volume rocker) and camera button after. Keep trying it if it doesn't take you to a menu. Next, slide out your keyboard then using the d-pad navigate to "apply update.zip" and click the middle button. Once its applied, you should have a bigger, longer menu. Then navigate to root phone in the new menu. Once this is done, you should be rooted.
How to apply custom roms:
Now that you have root and an OR (Open Recovery), turn on your phone and plug it into your computer in memory card access. (Or, you can navigate to the OR [By above method] and click memory card access, it should be the first or second option in the menu)
Once you are at the root of your sd card, go to OpenRecovery folder, then click updates. After that, put a rom that is an UPDATE (Some roms are not, some can be nandroid backups. It should specify on thread) For example, as of now, cyanogen mod by kabaldan is an update.
If the rom is a nandroid backup (Again, it should specify on thread) (For example, as of now, MotoFroyoSense is a nandroid backup), then navigate to the root folder then go to nandroid folder and click one of the folders within the nandroid folder (any, it doesn't matter) and put the nandroid backup (AS A FOLDER, not rar) and finally, turn off your phone.
Then navigate back to the OpenRecovery menu and click updates (if its an update rom) and click it, or if its a nandroid, navigate to nandroid then nandroid restore, and restore the rom.
Remember to wipe before you apply any roms!
Now, as an addition, here are all the roms available for milestone! They can be found in a cleaner thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11593755#post11593755

I believe that multiupload has been taken down and replaced by crapware provider iLivid. Consider them broken links. I would post 'em if I had 'em.
I think we're at the mercy of this 'low activity devices' forum category.

[Q&A] [TOOL]LG Bin Firmware Extractor

Purpose of this tool?
I am looking for a way to flash stock firmware to my phone without using a toolkit. For example, I know I can flash a KDZ or TOT file to my phone using LG Flash Tool, but both versions are Windows-only. I am trying to move completely to Ubuntu and I would love to find out that I can flash back to stock using only fastboot... If I extract my TOT file using your tool, can I flash the individual partitions using fastboot and get back to 100% stock? Really, I would like to learn more about what is happening at the most basic level when we are flashing for example, a custom ROM vs. the stock TOT or KDZ file. Why do we need to enter download mode and use a toolkit program, when we can flash custom ROMS through the terminal, or through a custom recovery? On my Ubuntu partition I have all my Android stuff setup and my device is recognized by adb (I haven't tried fastboot yet), so why can't I do EVERYTHING within Linux? Isn't Android Linux-based? It's irritating to think I have to have a separate Windows PC or keep a Windows partition to get back to 100% stock. I can't really tell you why I'm so gung-ho about going full Linux but I'm just fed up with Windows tbh... I have been reading through several forum posts and asking questions all around... I'm just looking for help learning and understanding, even if that's just a link pointing me towards more information. I have learned a lot already but there are some things I just don't understand yet. Thanks for your time.

Sorry, with regard to support for lg e460?

Hello, sorry for the title error (2.3.6).
This is the way to restore your Nexus One to 100% stock Android 2.3.6, waiting ICS Android 4 official OTA updates (if there will be one).
This rom contains:
hboot
radio
recovery
system ...
(all things return stock except the unlocked bootloader but it isn't a problem)
Thank to Football for the rom e to the XDA wiki for the guide. I decided to create this thread for who is in truble (as me some days ago) and for who wants to return stock before the possible relasing of ICS. Before everything backup your data (and sd card for security) and from custom recovery do:
-wipe battery stats (if you want)
-wipe data and cache
-wipe dalvik cache
Now:
1)Download the shipped rom GRK39F from PASSIMG_Passion_Google_WWE_3.13.1700.1_GRK39F_relase_signed.zip
2)Rename the downloaded ZIP file to PASSIMG.ZIP.
3)Transfer the provided PASSIMG.ZIP file to the root of your SD card.
4)Power down your phone.
5)Hold down the Volume Down button as you power your phone back on.
6)A screen should appear showing your phone's system searching for various files. This will take up to 2 minutes.
7)The phone will ask you if you want to start the update. Press the Volume Up button to start the update.
8)If you followed these steps correctly - congratulations, you are now on stock 2.3.6 ROM.

hi thanks you so much for your share i got done my htc to restore stock rom my phone
help needed!
I know this is an older thread, but I was hoping I could get some help.
I have a rooted Nexus one which I havent used in a few years. when I tried to turn it on it would get stuck in the X screen. Also trying to load recovery takes the phone back to the X screen.
So I decided to restore the phone to stock 2.3.6 using the instruction on this thread. the operation was successful, however the phone still boots to the X screen and wont go any further.
Any idea what I could be missing?
Possibly a full wipe will help, but after this flash I assume you are now s-on which means fastboot won't allow you to wipe/format that way
Maybe try the same steps but instead flash the passimg.zip through fastboot ruu

How to remove all the AT&T Apps from my device LG Thrill 4G? Link is broken

Thanks for your guide.

Remove all the ATT software, boot image
To use this you first need to flash the ATT V20P firmware and root it, you don’t need to install Clockwork but I would suggest doing this and also performing a backup before running this.
Procedure
Make sure you have the latest LG drivers
Make sure you have USB Debugging turned on
Extract files to a folder
Run the batch file run.bat
Pick what you want to remove
Select 3 from the batch file to exit as this will reboot your phone which is required
If you decide not to remove the ATT software from your phone but still want to change the boot images then Gulliver's Travels will still be removed as I needed extra space in the system/apps folder to replace the poweroff.apk.
Any issues just re-flash or restore you backup.
APNs are removed in this clean up as they touch a lot of other functions, also the Contacts is still the AT&T contacts to keep the rom stable.
