[Q] Recovery! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I cant seem to find a recovery .zip file that I can flash successfully. I couldn't write a .img file of philz either. I recently restored 2.3 to fix my wifi issue but now I cant flash a proper recovery. Anyone know why? or has a recovery that I could try flashing?

[Q] Installing CWM

So I somehow I accidentally flashed a wrong recovery image on my Note when trying to fix my internal storage not mounting. I have lost the ability to flash .zip files since this build of clockworkmod is 4.x.x. or something. Is there a way to revert back to 5.x.x. Is there a recovery.img I can download somewhere ? Thanks
Get CF root kernel, it will push latest version of CWM
find it from first link on my signature
perfect! Thanks

Recovery Mode

How to check if I have a recovery mode on my phone. Last time I tried, the phone went on a bootloop. Is there anyway to see what recovery mode I have without booting into it?

You should be able to see a TWRP or CWM folder when you look in your file manager.
You can download goomanager from the playstore and try to install TWRP that way if you can't get into recovery mode.
I'm not seeing one on mine, do you know of a working twrp latest version file for odin? All of the ones I tried messes up in a way including goomanager.

I initially used the root method from rootgalaxynote for the att version(I have T-Mobile note) but works the same. Download the files given and flash cwm through Odin(its a .tar file has all files needed including Odin) go into recovery on phone u should have cwm installed. then go to twrp website look for t879 tmobile note and downloaded the zip file for twrp and put it in your internal storage trough the computer and then go into recovery with cwm and installfrom sdcard(internal storage) and u should be good to install ROMs. Cwm kept giving me error 7 when trying to install ROMs so I switched to twrp via zip file. All is well now. Dont download twrp.tar file and flash through odin as it wont work. Just download the zip file.

[Q] CWM shows flashed zip file successfully but can't find those files in system

As stated, may I ask what is the reason that causes this? Thanks.
Maybe install TWRP or PhilZ Touch?
