Anybody have this issue?
My gmail widget doesn't load/update after rebooting. Its just a blank, white empty widget. Nothing to click on. Hitting the compose button does nothing. After each reboot, I have to delete the widget and drop a new gmail widget back, select account, inbox, etc. and then it'll load with emails.
I'm on 4.2.2/11a. I'm pretty sure this has been happening since the latest Gmail update, 5.0. I have 2 google accounts on the phone. Perhaps thats causing issues.

Possible problem: s planner won't sync properly with gmail calendar anymore, in a PECULIAR way. It downloads the calendars just fine, but when I go to add an event on my phone a message pops up saying that it "can't sync with gmail calendar," and that I need a gmail account. I then go to settings-->accounts-->sync, and it starts to sync, but then the sync circle freezes on screen (doesn't seem to finish). it appears to be a oneway problem from phone to gmail.
btw running cassie xlite with franco kernel (don't know if an app was removed that could cause this).
edit: actually it still works..just whenever I go to add an event the app claims it can't sync with gmail. strange.
I have no isuue to sync
Yes one limitation there, there is no reminder setting applies on server.
This has been driving my nuts for days, and I feel like an idiot that it took so long to figure out. I'm posting it here in case anyone else runs into this.
Symptom: red "syncing issue" circle showing on your google account under accounts and sync in the menu, but when you go into it to see what's not syncing, all items (calendar, contacts, gmail, etc) all appear to have synced correctly. Also, google services may or may not be keeping your phone awake. You've removed and re-added your google account, cleared cache and permissions, but that red circle won't go away.
Solution: I had frozen google tasks in tb days ago (because I don't use it), but apparently it was still trying to sync. When I unfroze it, it immediately showed up under accounts and sync with a red circle. I then manually synced, which got rid of the circle, then unchecked it so that it wasn't set up to sync anymore.
Problem solved, and all red "syncing issue" circles gone.
I know I asked this before but every since I updated to 4.4 my gmail sync has been painfully slow. Once in a while I'll get an instant notification other times I'll have to wait upwards of 5 minutes for it to come through. I didn't have this issue on 4.3. All I noticed when I checked the sync settings is that the sync icon was stuck on gmail and I had to manually refresh it. Does anyone have any suggestions. I already cleared the data and rebooted but there is no change.

All those are fine. I'll send a test email and it will be instant but if I repeat it I'll have to wait 5+ minutes for it to come up again.
Mine Is Just Slow To Sync
My issue is similar, but different. My Gmail app on my phone is not syncing (or at least it takes forever) to sync with the Gmail itself.
If I delete 10 messages from my phone (Gmail) then go to a computer and visit my Gmail account via a web browser, the messages are still there.
I'm running HTC One. 4.4 Kit Kat Seems to have started around the time I upgraded. I also have a Google Apps domain, not straight Gmail. But we all know Google Apps mail is just Gmail with your own domain name.
Anyone else having this issue?
DISREGARD, I RESOLVED BY: FORCE STOPPING MAIL APP, CLEAR DATA. THEN RECONFIG CLIENT/APP.
My Samsung GS5 is the ATT version. It updated recently to the new OS. I'm using the Email app that comes with the phone. It's named "Email" and the icon is a white envelope with a red circular @ symbol in the center.
Just in the last week, I've noticed that my email has stopped arriving. It's a Gmail account. When I hit the "Sync" button, I get a notice that sync has been disabled. I go into settings and enable sync. The new email will then download when I hit the sync button. Then, the same thing happens in another day or so - over and over.
Does anyone know what is causing this and, more importantly, how to fix it. Thanks.
Anyone have trouble sending and stuff waiting in the outbox for Gmail?
Note 8 Verizon
Reset GMail data and cache, ART cache etc.
All typical steps.
I see messages hanging in the outbox, taking long to send and drafts in the app not updating in the web app. This is even after the pull down to refresh.
It does send but typically needs a pull down from the inbox and worse it is using more power than it should.
Anyone else?
Self Solved. Issue was that the note by default puts GMAIL into battery optimization. Some versions of Gmail don't respond well to that optimzation. The version I am on since the update 2 days ago doesn't.
Settings, Battery, Usage, overflow (3 dots), optimze, and kill gmail optimization.
Just for carefulness I did that to messages, inbox and calendar too.
But Gmail always seems to be the issue. And only som update versions.
7.6.4.158567011 didnt have the problem
7.8.27.167795811 does.
Thank you for this!!!!!!!!! I noticed many times I wouldn't get notified when I had new mail in Gmail sometimes (more often than not). At work, I'd get my email notifications from my chrome browser, but most of the time they wouldn't come through on my phone unless I woke my phone up. I just took it off the optimization list and will see if I get notified promptly from now on, and also see if I notice any dents in battery.
Thanks again for the post!
