How to Flash LoliPOP (Android 5) in MI3W - Mi 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
Not sure whether this thread help you how many's. But it is especially for the one who were using AOSP ROM and willing to flash LoliPOP without going back to MIUI v5 or 6. Because I found some threads saying it is recommend to flash MiUI 5 or 6 first before flashing the LoliPOP else will ends up with bootloop. Actually it is not needed. I will describe the steps , unfortunately I can't paste the file link here. You may please find out from the other threads or MIUI forums. Here are the steps,
1) IVAN already provided a CWM for LoliPOP installation. We need to install LoliPOP from that recovery. But it's full of Chinese. So I was used the old CWM (r7-English language) for wiping all the stuffs
2) wipe data/factory reset, cache, dalvik. Format both system, cache and data using old recovery.
3) flash the CWM provided by IVAN from that old recovery via the option 'install zip from SD card'. It will show a warning that "untrusted", just ignore that and flash it.
4) now reboot recovery, and you will get Chinese stuff CWM
5) choose the first option -> zip -> LoliPOP ROM
6) flash the google apps if required.
7) then reboot it.
Finally root it via the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-mi-3/general/lollipop-mi3-guess-yes-t2940083/page17
Its page 17 and 2nd reply
Please do thanks button if it is helped you.

[I9020T][ROM][STOCK]Nexus S Android 2.3.1, Build GRH78 Factory Firmware

Please read this post in its entirety before downloading and flashing.
THIS IS FOR I9020T ONLY! IF YOU DECIDE TO GET BRAVE AND TRY THIS ON AN I9020A, I9023 OR D720, MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO ANY PHONE BY USING THIS ROM.
YOU MUST FLASH THIS ROM USING CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY. THIS WILL NOT FLASH USING THE STOCK ANDROID 3E RECOVERY AS THE ZIP FILE IS NOT SIGNED. I HAVE NOT TESTED IT ON OTHER RECOVERIES.
This is probably more for posterity now than anything else, however I have created a CWM-flashable full on ROM for the Nexus S Gingerbread firmware, version 2.3.1, build GRH78. This is built exactly the same way that the full OTA ROM packages for 2.3.3 and 2.3.4 were built.
Some notes:
1. Flashing this ZIP will remove ClockworkMod Recovery on first boot. Android 2.3.1 introduced a script that automatically overwrites alternate recoveries with the stock Android 3e recovery each time you reboot your phone. The script is located in /system/etc/install-recovery.sh. If you root the ROM, you can rename this file to avoid flashing the stock recovery on each reboot.
2. Flashing this ZIP will overwrite your bootloader and radio, restoring them to I9020XXJK1 and I9020XXJK8 respectively. These are the versions that came stock with GRH78.
3. GRH78 is receiving OTA updates. As of this writing, the latest version of Android is 2.3.4, and Google is pushing an OTA update for 2.3.1 to 2.3.4.
4. This ZIP will NOT clear your user data or cache. For users running a stock ROM, I would highly suggest clearing your data and cache manually as sometimes downgrading without clearing data and cache can cause problems. If you are coming from a non-stock ROM, you are required to clear your data and cache or the ROM will not boot.
5. Since writing NFC tags wasn't introduced until GRI40/2.3.3, the Tags app is read-only.
6. There is no video chatting through Google Talk. This feature was not introduced until GRJ22/2.3.4.
Instructions:
1. Download the Stock GRH78 ROM package here.
2. Copy it to the root of your USB storage.
3. Reboot into ClockworkMod Recovery (or flash it).
4. Select "Install ZIP From SD Card"
5. Select "Choose ZIP"
6. Find the ZIP file and select it.
7. Wait for it to finish.
8. Wipe data and cache (optional but HIGHLY recommended for stock ROM users and REQUIRED for non-stock ROM users)
9. Reboot and have fun.
Reserved...just in case.

Yes I know, I'm a dumb ass.
I have only access to fastboot (via Terminal only).
Try flashing Clockwork Mod Recovery with fastboot.
fastboot flash recovery.img
I did but I even don't know if I can boot into the recovery because the screen stay off.
Can you get to the bootloader? If you don't even see the bootloader screen, you may have bricked it.
I managed to fix it using ODIN.
Thanks.

Can't flash in CWM

Hey Guys,
I have this problem where i cant seem to flash to any new roms in CWM with the new roms in zip files on my SD card.
I have tried flashing to new kernels but it doesn't seem to change anything.
The last rom i flashed was Criskelo v7 and i haven't changed because i cant every time i try to flash something new in CWM it seems like it only just starts to do it then freezes and i leave it because it might be working and it always end up rebooting and then i find I'm back on Criskelo v7 as if its a fresh install and it need my google account / full setup as if its new but no new rom.
I have also tried updating CWM with odin it works to update odin but it still cant flash any new roms.
Am i doing something wrong? please if anyone has any idea let me know.
Sorry if this has been covered but i really did try and find similar problems.
Thanks
What does the screen read? Error 7?

I had a similar issue and it was a root issue.
To see if it is the same for you, if you have SuperSU, open it, and press 'Continue' if prompted to update binary. If this fails, your problem is root related, the solution of which is below. Unfortunately I don't know how else to test if you don't have SuperSU or if the update prompt doesn't appear.
Below is how I fixed the problem. It may not work for you, and if it doesn't, it's not my fault.
Also note this method will fix the issue no matter what caused it, and wipes data, so backup what you need. It also assumes your ROM is flashable.
1 Put your ROM anywhere in /storage/sdcard0 on your phone.
2 Go to hotfile.com/dl/155490069/c7932d4/N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_DBT.zip.html on your computer to download N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_DBT.
4 Extract this to produce N7000XXLPY_N7000OXALPY_N7000XXLPT_HOME.tar.md5.
5 Flash this through Odin.
6 After your phone reboots (you can't get into the actual OS so you must do this in the Samsung boot animation), enter recovery.
7 Wipe data and cache.
8 Enter download mode.
9 Go to puu.sh/1q5mJ to download GL_NOTECORE_HYDRACORE_v4-3b_STD.tar.
10 Flash this through Odin.
11 After your phone reboots (you don't need to wait to get into the actual OS - you can do it in the Samsung boot animation), enter recovery.
12 Flash your ROM.

GT_N7000_SweetROM_V5_base_LSF

Hi,
I've just downloaded the latest ROM "GT_N7000_SweetROM_V5_base_LSF" for my Samsung Note GT-N7000. http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote/roms/SweetJB/GT_N7000_SweetROM_V5_base_LSF.ziphttp://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote/roms/SweetJB/GT_N7000_SweetROM_V5_base_LSF.zip Could anyone tell me how to install this ROM? Do I have to unzip this RAR-file first? And if so, what then? Could I make use of the program Odin3.
I still am quite new at this and I am always a bit uncertain when upgrading my phone. Again, I really could do with some good advice from one of you guys.
Thanks again!
Robert.
No need to unzip the file. it needs to be flashed using CWM recovery

Thank you for your swift reply.
My phone is rooted and therefor I think I have CWM installed. Also, I earlier installed the RAR-file: N7000XXLSZ_N7000XENLS4_XEN, I think I can remember that it was also done with the CWM recovery; It went all smoothly. I know that I didn't have to wipe my phone and/or reset it into factory settings at that time. Is that still the same with this installation? Because I found this video on the internet http://www.cursed4eva.com/multi-window-galaxy-note/, which seems to say otherwise, and now I'm having second thoughts. Are you known to a video that would make it more clearly for me in how to act?
I hope to hear from you soon again.
Thank you,
Robert.

Hi,
I just read these instructions, but I still have so many doubts that I could really do with some extra help. I am sorry, that I sound like a real amateur but that's because I really am in this matter.
Like i said, earlier (a few weeks ago), I've eventually (after so many of my questions having answered by you guys) succesfully rooted my phone by installing the RAR-file: CWM-SuperSU-v0.87. I also succesfully installed the Dutch ROM version: N7000XXLSZ_N7000XENLS4_XEN and I also had to install the RAR-file: PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.88.2-signed.
Now, reading your instructions in the link that you gave me:
1) Make a backup of your current ROM
2) Download Sweet ROM Team V5 and Philz JB Kernel and place on sd or external sd card (remember where you put it)
3) Boot cwm recovery
4) Flash any Philz JB Kernel (after 3.1 cwm) - available here
5) Reboot Recovery
6) Wipe Data/Cache/Dalvik (IMPORTANT)
7) Mounts Storage and Format System, Format Data AND Format PreLoad (IMPORTANT)
8) Flash Sweet ROM Team V5 JB
9) Wait until it says Reboot then Reboot phone. First install will take some time as it is building cache
could I not "just start" from point 5, or would that just not work? I still have the the RAR-file: PhilZ-cwm6-XXLSZ-OXA-4.88.2-signed installed on my ExternalSD-card and I've also placed the SweetRom on my ExternalSD-card...
Am I correct to presume I am losing all my data following this procedure?
Could you please link me to a video where I can watch the whole installation process as my guide?
Thank you again!
Robert,
Netherlands.
Fist take backup of apps , contacts, sms , call logs etc, Then Do follow instruction below
1) Reboot Recovery
2) Wipe Data/Cache/Dalvik (IMPORTANT)
3) Mounts Storage and Format System, Format Data AND Format PreLoad (IMPORTANT)
4) Flash Sweet ROM Team V5 JB
5) Wait until it says Reboot then Reboot phone. First install will take some time as it is building cache

Nexus 4 Camera Reboot

Work in progress(Rev1) Fix for the Nexus 4 Camera Reboot Issue
Hi guys, i did post this in the forum of the nexus 4 reboot issue but I thought it might of been better to make a new post for this. If you are having reboot issue due to the camera I'd say continue reading and install the port down below.(This was my first port, so it may be buggy)
Okay so this should be a complete port but im not sure how well it will run because its using the nexus 4 jelly bean 4.2.2 camera components. I'm NOT sure if this build is stable after the port but its worth giving it a try.
Install of .zip! (Back up every things! Will wipe all data!)
Warning, By installing this file means I'm not responsible for any damage that MAY happen.
1. Download zip from my dropbox(link down below)
2. Back up data!
3. Must have an unlocked bootloader, root and custom recovery!
4. After you have done step 1-3 you may now begin by entering into the recovery
5. Depending on the recovery you are using, find wipe cache partition and wipe
6. Now find wipe dalvik cache, and wipe
7. You should see an option that say "wipe data partition" this will delete EVERYTHING on your phone so BACKUP. And wipe that partition as well
8. Repeat step 5-6 to make sure you are not going to have problems
9. Go to install zip, then install zip from sdcard, and from there go to /0 partition and find the zip you downloaded from my dropbox.
10. Now you can install the zip and then repeat step 5-6 again.
11. That is everything! you should be able to boot in to android 4.4.4 setup screen and the camera should be fix.
If you are not able to boot into the screen either because of a boot loop go to googles website download android 4.2.2 stock and the nexus tool kit found on the xda forums, and restore using that with the box checked "softbricked, Bootloop" and then search for the file download from google and continue.
Please leave a reply if something is wrong or the port did not work! I'll try my best to help fix it!

This isn't the right place for a FIX, this must go on General or apps thread.

I think that this is not a FIX, it should be a stock KitKat rom with the camera driver from 4.2.2
