The "grab a charger and stay charging while you play a game on any ROM" ROM is the best ROM for this. This may sound like a sarcastic response, but its actually a very honest and very serious answer.

There is no top ROM for gaming on these devices. Your best bet is to install a kernel that will allow you to overclock your processor. Use whichever ROM you like best. [emoji4]

The thread that talks about kernels in the development section, the same one that literally has the word 'KERNEL' in the title that can easily be found by using the search feature....

You really don't want to use arrrghhh kernel if you are worried about battery life. lol
You might want to do EB40 mod.

[Q] Best Kernel for ICS Based Incredible S

Hi. If the same thread is already exists, please forgive me. Been trying to find similar thread for about 3-4 pages here, but none found.
If no, well, can anyone here suggest the best kernel for ICS based ROM for our IncS in term of performance and battery life. Thanks in advance.
XS-ICS.
What's the benefit of this kernel over another? I am sorry I am also new to this. If you can just provide some high level overview

Hi. From my point of view, each kernel has it's own advantages and disadvantages in terms of performance, battery life and etc. For custom kernel like X2 ICS (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121), you can overclock your IncS to higher CPU speed but PLEASE bare in mind, even though our device is the same, but that doesn't mean the optimized value to overclock is the same. My suggestion, please look carefully for pro n cons for each kernel in the forum because some kernel is not supported for certain ROMs. For me, I just flashed ICS Sense G11 v2.0.1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1887379) and it went smoothly with my Android Revolution HD 3.01 ROM.
I have used a couple of custom ICS ROMs (Nik's and IceCold) and I find that the following gives the best choice of governors, clocking variability and battery life.
Choosing the right governor and clock speed will of course impact on your performance.
Also recommend XS ICS 2.2... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851121

both are stable and quite fast now, latest cm9 from thewhisp or cm10 from rohan007
I'm using cm9 by thewhisp, is very god, stable, fast, I not test any game in 3d.
He is not fully customizable, but hacks can resolve this.
I recomend, use Pacakage performance v6, here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1799828

Just a question: by telling "stable" you mean EVERYTHING working, including Wifi\USB tethering, camera recording etc..? no bugs? no need of 3rd party apps to use camera or tethering? let me know pls

According to the Thread "[DEV][ICS/JB] Unofficial CyanogenMod 9/10 [10.11.2012 - ICS | 20.10.2012 - JB]" by The Whisp, Almost everything works fine in CM9 and a lot of things are working in CM10; except by HW Video Encoding.
Now, I believe that SGM can fully work up to Gingerbread only, and the best rom for Galaxy Mini is CM7 unofficial by Mebitek, again, in my opinion. If anyone goes for CM9/CM10 should know that the SGM won't work 100%. A lot of devs are trying to get 100% but until now there's always "something", even in most GB roms, including Mebitek's one. But CM9/CM10 have more features than CM7 and it's more complicated. I guess you should continue using The Whisp's one, because it has more features and is more stable and fast, at the same time.

To open an app in cm10 by whisp takes so long time. But cm10 by goldchang is good without any lag and everything is working fine for me.

Well , the most stable KK and JB rom's are cyanogenmod and omnirom.
When speaking of JB rom's I personally recommend cm10.1 for stability and overall performance.
When talking about KK rom's ..the most stable and probably the only ones are omnirom 4.4.2 and cyanogenmod 11. I can't say which is best because I've only tried cm11 but I've seen a lot of posts saying that omnirom is pretty good aswell. The best way to figure out which one works better for what you want is to try them , even though fast can't really be an attribute for our phones running android 4+. Good luck !

Unless I'm mistaken...
1) Put APK physical on phone
2) Enable "Unknown sources" in Security settings to install APK's from phone
3) use a/the file browser and point to your APK, chose to install it
4) To go Apps in settings, find your installed app and open it
5) Tick on Enable Privacy Guard
Something like this?
** EDIT **
If it's a privacy setting in your MMS.apk -- most likely, since the CM's Privacy will render MMS.apk useless as it won't give access to personal data -- go check that in your app.

Help me choosing a rom please

Hi guys, i finally decided to install a custom rom in my moto g 2014, so here i am asking you what is the best rom, i've seen this http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/orig-development/rom-cyanogenmod-12-t2993932
and i think it's good, but i've not read all the 370 pages so maybe there are some problems or maybe there is a better rom...
sorry for my bad english and thank you all
You have to find out which is the best ROM for you. What is important for you? That it is stable? Or good battery backup?

If many features are not what you're looking for, go for cm12. If you want as many customizations as possible, I'd recommend you blisspop, carbon ROM or PAC ROM.
I personally like less customization, for examole Slim, tesla are little customized, Aosp is the uncustomized Android nexus like experience, all have nice performance, stable and battery backup
I would recommend you AOSP. It's all clean, ready to provide you the best performance a ROM can give.
But if you want some customizations to play with, I HIGHLY recommend OctOS. This ROM wasn't highlighted as many others around this forum, but I guarantee that you will receive a good performance and a good bunch of custom features
thank you guys, all this answers were unexpected, this is a beautiful community

It definitely is. With custom kernel you have more features like double tap to wake and so on. I'd recommend Optimus kernel or spirit kernel.

Both kernels have a feature list in the thread. Have a look at them and then decide which kernel has the most features that you need, or if you need a custom kernel at all.
Spirit
Optimus

Suggest Rom

I want...
1) battery life.
2)Smoothness
3)don't have big bugs specially with calling,Wi-Fi,3G etc.
Thanks
1. Wrong place to post this.
2. ROM preference is kind of a personal thing. Try them it to find one that best suits you.
You could go With Tesla for speed, battery life is around 11hrs with greenify and fusion 6.0 for battery life (1day with greenify) , performance is good no lag. .. I use the former as primary rom and latter as secondary because of it's battery life , as I give priority to performance than battery life... I've used cm 12.1, pacman, prudroid, blisspop, paranoid, resurrection remix, ... And I found the above said 2 roms the best, personal choice. .
having tried Cm12.1 , stock 5.0.2 , titan , slim LP and loads of others - I'm currently using nexus experience rom all i can say, its the only custom rom i've kept for more than 2days -- NOT saying others are no good-- just I personally like this one.

most stable rom
CM 12.1 snapshot version

Fusion, Exodus or crDroid
