Just download the image and flash the radio separately via fastboot.

Some of us would rather save on data caps and the like by only downloading the kilobytes we need instead of hundreds of megabytes...nvm slow download speeds.

Use Fastboot or Attempt Flashify. This is not a ZIP and is an .img 63MB

I download images using WiFi on my laptop so I can use fastboot. I don't think you can flash images outside of fastboot but I could be wrong.

I have Comcast so I guess each is just as bad.
Also there is an OP with flashable zips of the radios.

Flashable zips not yet done, have to study for exams but if someone does the flashable zip I'll include it to OP and give credits
The standalone .img files are there though. You'd just need to make a zip to the partition with modem @ /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/modem

[REQ] Stock (factory) fastboot .img files

I haven't been able to find stock .img files for anything...
Most especially need a stock boot.img and a stock recovery.img
It would nice to have all of them though. Where can these be found?
Yes i also would love those files, or another way to get my phone COMPLETELY back to stock. Recovery and everything... if possible
I could use a stock boot.img as well... that is the correct size to flash with fastboot.

Koush has the the stock boot.img: http://koush.tandtgaming.com/samsung/crespo/
But it wont flash with fastboot.
He said we need to truncate it so it will flash via fastoot.
Anyone knows how to do this?

Yeah, I have that one as well. But it doesn't work with fastboot. It's too big. I'm going to wait until someone links the correct boot.img for fastboot.
I just posted a thread with aosp images. The factory images everyone wants aren't available from google yet unfortunately, however the ones I posted should work just fine.
People reported not being able to flash the OTA with your AOSP img's

Will those allow you to update the new OTA update?
I'm pretty sure that is why everyone wants the stock boot.img right now.
edit: Nope that boot.img won't allow you to update, at least not through CWR. I get an error. Also breaks wifi (assuming wifi works if you flash all the .imgs).

I fixed the wifi bug. See my thread's OP. As far as the not being able to update, it's a recovery issue, and nothing to do with the boot.img

Thanks for fixing the wifi on those, but the update still won't flash using this boot.img (sadly) and CWM.
Koush is claiming that we really need the stock boot.img.
To do the update just do the nandroid for it that the other guy posted around here... It works well
here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884416
Worked great! Allowed me to update to 2.3.1.
also this will work:

[DEV] Entire Nexus 4 System Dump from System.img 11/14/12

Here's the full System Dump from the Image that Google released yesterday and posted on their site:here:
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occamjop40c
I mounted, extracted, and zipped up the entire system dump from the system.img for download here:
DOWNLOAD SYSTEM DUMP HERE
MD5 Sum: 0a77c580900be234ddc86b7ff459c185
Mount points, thanks to mskip can be found HERE
This should give everyone a chance to start working on their ROMs for the device before they have them in hand. I know I'll start mine tomorrow.
Enjoy!
Why is this needed when we already have the factory image direct from Google?

The image has been extracted and ready to deodex, or whatever you like to build your ROM.
If you have to ask the question..........
Maybe I should give it a try. Thanks

I sorta think that's his point, if you know what your doing, you can extract it yourself, it's like a 2 minute process.
I suppose this could be useful for people with really slow internet connections who would rather have just the system.img than the whole thing.

Update from CleanRom to 5.1.1???

Can someone point me to a flashable zip for the update as well as the flashable for radio of its out. I've been gone for a while and would appreciate the help
I am on T-Mobile and currently on CleanRom 2.2. I would like to get to LYZ28E and keep root and data
I dont wish to wipe data and I am unencrypted and would like to stay that way
Anyone?

All of this info is readily available and accessible via search. You have to download the LYZ28E factory image. Unzip and extract the system image. Flash the system image via fastboot. You will have to flash TWRP again and SuperSU but you won't lose your data.

Thanks for your reply... So basically no TWRP flashable way to do it. I did search for the radio update but I couldn't find anything though it may be because I am on Tapatalk

Looking for stock recovery to flash OTA

I need the stock recovery image (from 23.16.3.victara_retca.retca.en.CA) so I can flash the 6.0 update since it won't work with TWRP.
Any help? Google isn't providing me with much.
Does it have to be from the Canadian variant (not sure if the recovery images are different between variants)?
Tried looking here for the correct zip, which should contain the recovery image?

I have no clue. I doubt it would have to be the retCA version. I'm sure everything besides radio and system will be the same.
This is from the latest RETCA XT1097 5.1 firmware:

Worked perfectly.
My process
- Flash stock 5.1 using fastboot (Steps can be found on Motorola's site or somewhere on XDA)
- Install Marshmallow OTA
- Flash cracked boot.img for Marshmallow. This step is needed in order for TWRP to stick and for you to root without getting stuck on the warning screen. (I'll find the link for you if you can't. It's somewhere on XDA.)
- Flash TWRP
- Create backup so I don't have to go through this process next time haha

Awesome! Thanks for the tip. I got as far as the 6.0 OTA (RETCA), and am now trying to get root back again. Where did you find the cracked boot.img?
Cheers!

Something odd has happened since upgrading to 6.0.
'adb devices' still sees my phone, but 'fastboot devices' no longer sees anything, and making a desktop back-up with adb now creates a file containing 0 bytes.
Everything else seems fine. Are there some new permissions I need to give before this will work?
Thanks again.
Edit: I managed to get fastboot working, however now I've run into a new problem.
To confirm, when you say flash the cracked boot.img for Marshmallow, I should execute 'fastboot flash boot boot.img' for the cracked boot.img?
I'm getting the error: mismatched partition size (boot)
I can still enter TWRP with fastboot, but it's not permanent without the cracked boot.img
Am I missing a step?
Edit #2: Finally got TWRP to stick another way and have root now. Thanks for everything!

Is it available? Or it is too early? thanks
I would really love it if we could get this.
The Nexus 6P already got it.
hopefully someone's working on one. If I knew how I would.

If I want to flash it as my primary I would have done it when it was released.
I want to test it as a secondary rom using MultiROM.
It supports only flashable zip.

This is the same file name and size as the link in the OTA thread to go to NPC56P from MMB29V. Not that I doubt you, but are you sure that this will install as is as secondary in MultiROM?

it'll be quicker downloading it then pulling it out. its only 842mb, the system.img unzipped is 1.2gb.
